@lynwallace Hi Lyn, , thank you so much for your mail, appreciate it, you have some quacker shows coming up with patrick there, how wonderfull for you, wish we had more quacker shows on our q v c , but we dont have many on there, guess they have to share the time with other fashion on there, we have a lot of xmas shows now on our q v c, i want to get the set of 2 bethlehem lights small xmas trees, i want one for my charlies memorial garden, he’ was our old dog, we lost him 3 yrs september 27th, he was 14 and a half when we lost him, he was a collie cross dog, half collie and half flat coated retriever, he had cushions disease, it affects the hormones in older dogs and younger dogs can get it also, he was on tablets to control it, we were away at the time he got taken ill, we were in the usa, and he was in kennels and got taken ill with breathing problems, the people at the kennels got him to our vets, who gave him oxygen which was not helping him ,much, they gave him an x ray and it showed a tumour on he’s liver, they called my partners father and asked him to contact me to contact them, well i got the call from stewarts father but we could not contact the vet via by phone, so i e mailed the vet to call us there and i would pay the call upon our return home, than the vet phoned me, she got the number from stewarts dad, she told me he was very ill and they could not operate and with that i burst into tears and handed the phone to stewart, he then spoke to the vet who said she would phone back in 2 hrs, she did phone back i got stewart to talk to the vet, apparently charlie was not eating, drinking, could not stand up, he’s organs were failing him, so stewart asked the vet to put him to sleep, i was devastated, i had that dog for 14 and a half years, since he was 8 wks old, my first dog too, the worst was coming home and seeing he’s basket here, we had him cremated and i made a memorial garden in our back garden, we scattered some of he’s ahses in he’s garden and we took some to wales where we spend lots of happy times on holiday with charlie, i miss him terribly though, we did adopt a dog a border terrier cross from the dogs trust but he was mistreated he was 6 yrs old, after 7 wks he turned on us for no reason, he bit me on the foot and he had to go back, we then got patch , he’s a springer spaniel dog , he’s now 20 months old, he’s a handful though, I’m training him up, i cannot walk him because of my foot problems right now, but stewart walks him for me twice a day plus he runs around like mad, he unplugged my freezer yesterday so i have had to put a bit of wood in front of the plug socket!! he’s a rascal for sure, but he’s lovely though, black and white in colour he is, we had him fixed last october as he got out of he’s harness and ran over the road, luckily no cars were coming at the time, he jumped over the cemetery wall too, stewart was walking him at the time too, but he’s ok now he’s been fixed, its hot here today, your drink sounds nice and refreshing especially for a hot day like you have had it there, hope you are ok there, take care hugs to you my friend christine

    • Yes we have a few Quacker shows coming on Monday – special of the day. Can’t wait to watch. even if I don’t buy I still like to watch. They’re just fun. Saw on facebook Patrick got delayed on his way over – hope he makes it.

I understand about your Charlie, I had a dog I adored Mandy, she was Brittany Spaniel and Golden retriever mix. I adored her. Had her for about the same amount of time you had Charlie. We too had her cremated and she sits in my family room along with 3 of our cats. After she died I couldn’t get another dog – she had my heart. So we’ve gone with cats – not quite as loving as dogs, but I still adore them. we have one Dawson, had his sister too, but she got sick and the vet couldn’t do anything. As he’s only 3, I’m expecting him to be here a good long time. We got bird feeders and put them outside the picture window. He loves watching them. We get some squirrels and a rabbit at times.
We’ve had a black bear around, but so far he hasn’t messed with our bird feeders. Later in the fall we’ll have to bring them in as the bears can be destructive. After they hibernate we can put them back out for our winter birds.
It’s suppposed to be hot here until next weekend. ugh!

Take care and give you pup a hug

      • Hi Lyn
Thank you so much for your friendship and mail, realy do appreciate it, i record the quacker shows we have here, not that its that often we have them, then watch them, i dont always get to watch them, i dont always buy, i tend to get tops on clearance whenever possible, unless its something i realy like and willing to pay the full price, will pay full price for the jeans though, wish we had more colours in our jeans though, i got a red pair of the straight leg ones last year, not got around to wearing them yet, live in the blue ones, i have a black pair but they are on their way out now, so they will have to be replaced, i loved my expresso ones but patch put holes in them when he was a tiny puppy!! so save those for decorating, painting etc, we have rain today, at last, we sure needed it, I’m sorry to hear about your mandy, its nice you have dawson though, i like cats but like dogs better, patch does not mind cats, he meets lots of them around here on he’s walks, he’s a rascal though, ive got a gammon joint cooking in my slow cooker now and I’m doing mashed potatoes with carrots and gravy to go with it, stewart worked the early shift today, 4am-12.15pm today, tomorrow its the 11am-19.15pm shift, he’s done 3 early shifts on the run now, he’s off tuesdsay and wednesday this week, so we will do our shopping tuesday , then wednesday i have muffins to make, i make cakes and i love to make cards, i use the card kits or just put together a card, not bought a card in years!! you have bears there!! wow, that must frighten you, i would hate bears here, we get birds and squirrels, the grey ones we have here though not the red ones, i had a bird feeder and table but it got destroyed a few years ago when we had a terrible wind and storm problems here, it knocked our fence down and the bird table got broken, so hope to replace that sometime, our strictly come dancing starts saturday, well they pair them up on saturday and it starts again with the dancing early october time, I’m going to apply for tickets to go and watch the live shows, we went a few years ago, its done on a draw basis, they pick your name out and if you are chosen you go there, its about an hours drive away from us where they film our strictly come dancing, its len goodman last year as judge here, he’s still doing your dancing with the stars over there though, he plans to move there they say, its amazing to watch strictly live though, they do the results show right after the live dancing show, but they make out on tv that its done the next day, the results show that is, they only give you around 40 mins to vote after the main show then the following evening on our tv the results show is shown, but if you go to see the live show as its broadcast and done they do the results right after, they give you a break, they then bring you a drink and a choc bar then they record the results show but make out its done on the sunday for the tv that is, hope you understand that! hope we are lucky enough to get tickets this year, did not get lucky last year though, anyway best go and get the dinner on now, you take care there hugs to you my friend christine
