Hi Adele,
We do have to try and keep our sense of humor-laughter is medicine too. Some of the music people are posting a song every day at a certain time. I hope people will realize we are all in this together and show the love. Even if we have to show it while standing 6 feet away from each other. lol
Yes, all those people lined up for groceries can’t be good. I feel bad for the grocery store workers.
You should watch The Masked Singer it’s on Fox on Wednesday at 7 central time.
I read this morning that Brady is leaving the Patriots-is that true?
Hey, it wouldn’t be the first time that Greg used the bushes for a toilet. I know for a fact that when he’s working outdoors he will sometimes go behind the barn or a tree. it’s such an easy thing for a man to do.
I had not noticed the governor of New York looking bad but I don’t really know what he normally looks like.
I wonder if there will be lots of babies born nine months from now since people are stuck at home. I know that happens after blackouts.
We may have to learn how to skype.
I had a low fever last night. I’m hoping it’s from my post nasal drip but we are keeping an eye on it.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108603Sue,
What is dirt track racing? Is it car racing?
Speaking of racing I heard this morning that the Kentucky Derby is postponed until September and it usually takes place on the first Saturday in May. Jenny was born on a Derby Day. They do get huge crowds there.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108598Ha ha Sue,
Thanks for the funny. I will have to look at some other things to post.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108596Hi Colleen,
Yes, the virus is slowing in China but remember they started having cases in November so they are 4 to 5 months ahead of us in all this.
Greg is home for the next two weeks and know pretty soon he is going to start feeling restless.
I’ll bet the Easter Egg hunt will be fun for the kids.
I know after all the searching for a tailor Jenny is wondering if Milk Days might end up being cancelled. Only time will tell.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108527Hi Colleen,
I’m glad that you liked the earrings. lol We do have to try and keep a sense of humor and a sense that we are all in this together.
I don’t particularly want other people picking out my groceries either but I think for right now this is the safest method and will keep Greg and I out of the stores. Different times call for doing things differently.
I like a lot of the paper and cleaning products from Costco. Those are the things that we get when we go there. Plus we usually stock up on meat.
I doubt if this will be better by April-I’m hoping it will be better by May. I have a hair appointment next week that I will have to cancel. I feel sorry for the hairdresser as she will probably have a lot of cancellations. But I think it’s for the best. I will have really shaggy hair and big roots but if I am home for the next several weeks who is going to see me besides Greg? And you guys know I love my hair appointments so this is making me sad-but I figure better safe than sorry.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108524Hi DD,
I wonder what was going on. Did the police come into your building?
I would imagine that the casinos would be closed-I know they are around here. They attract crowds and all those hands on the slots machines have to be transferring germs. I know we we go to casinos I use a lot of Purell.
Fortunately I always carry hand sanitizer so I have some and I had Greg pick up a large bottle a couple of weeks ago that I can refill my small bottles with. I have actually been watching this since news came from China about it-so it has been on my radar as I just knew that it would be spreading. In the world that we live in with all the mobility you just can’t seem to keep something this contagious contained. So little by little I have been making sure we had things like tylenol and cough medicine etc. on hand. However, I did not foresee the run on toilet paper.
I think eventually everything is going to have to be shut down and I almost wish they would just do it sooner rather than later. I can’t believe that there are still going to be primaries tomorrow.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108498Sue,
I also worry about the people who are not taking everything seriously. I think maybe the media does talk about it maybe more than they should but when I become overwhelmed I have just learned that I have to turn stuff off and walk away and do something else for awhile.
I am surprised that your friend is not concerned too-especially with a husband who is battling cancer. I think as more and more things close down people will be forced to realize that this is serious stuff.
People can really be ridiculous-imagine calling 911 for no toilet paper! That’s the first time I heard of that.
Greg had a doctor’s appointment on Friday and our doctor told him she could write a book about all the crazy stuff she’s heard in the last couple of weeks.
I am due for bloodwork and am still trying to figure out how to get that done.
Stay safe.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108484Please no one be offended by this. I think you all know I take this very seriously and I feel terrible for the loss of lives world wide.
I pray for the doctors all around the world who must be exhausted caring for patients and I am so sad for the loss of lives.
But I also hope that I can make someone smile – I know this gave me a chuckle-and seriously hoarding toilet paper is kind of ridiculous.
Also on our own local Harvard 411 Facebook group there are people offering to shop for the elderly and I find this so heartwarming. If we all pull together we will get through this. I hear people in other areas of the country are offering to help in the same way. I hope people will continue to be kind to each other.
Okay. I hope I’m done now.
Gail
