What the hell happened. All the posts reprinted in a very weird way and all my pictures disappeared.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111495Sue,
I hope that you are doing well. We haven’t heard from you in a while and I was just thinking about you.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111490Hi Colleen,
I’m glad that you got to Facetime Aliza. That must have been a little scary seeing her teachers in masks and gloves. I remember those preschool graduations-they were funny and cute. Hopefully next year you all will be able to go to the school to see her ceremony. I think it’s nice that they do that for the little kids.
I think some of the restaurants depending on where you are can only serve outdoor seating. Every state and even region is different.
What is baseball doing-I haven’t heard the latest. I thought they were playing with no one in the stadium. But people will still be able to watch on TV I imagine so that would be a good thing. I think so many people want sports back that they would rather watch with an empty stadium than not have anything to watch at all. Plus I imagine the players want to play again. They did Nascar with no one in the stands and I’ll bet the fans watched. I know Greg will watch golf when it comes back even with no spectators. I kind of think it will be comforting to people to be able to watch again. Weird maybe with no spectators but the sports lovers probably don’t really care as long as they can watch and root for their teams.
The drive in movie that I saw on TV had a bathroom attendant that cleaned after every person. Yikes. And each bathroom was just a one seater.
I’m glad that you and Ron are enjoying the funnies. Smiling does fill the soul and lift the spirits.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111444ooops-I forgot the funnies again and I have such a huge collection now so I may as well use them.

I hope that you did not have to drive far to get to the dentist. Yes if they get behind they will get a big pile up and they don’t want all those people waiting in the office. We just got emails from our dentist yesterday with the list of all the new rules.
I like the restaurants that are putting mannequins at some of the tables to enforce social distancing. A lot have printed paper throw away menus and are using the packets of ketchup and mustard and salt and pepper instead of having the containers on the table. It will be a whole different experience. However, I don’t think we will be going to a restaurant soon.
Greg is going golfing this Friday. This will be the first time this year. You can only go two at a time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
We have not seen the kids in person since the middle of March. Did Brook have the baby with her when you saw her.
I must say that’s the thing that makes me weepy is when I miss the kids.
When I was talking about the beauty shops I was talking about the blow dryers I don’t know about the sit down dryers. And I don’t even know what state that was in-it was just something I read. However when I get my color done I don’t have to sit under a dryer-even when I get my highlights-there are some formulas that they can use that don’t require the dryers. The kind she uses on me doesn’t need one. Which is good as I don’t like sitting under the dryer. lol
I think this weekend is going to be a mess with people crowding beaches and having big parties.
It’s interesting that drive in movies are making a resurgence. There is actually still one in our county that has never closed and I hear it is packed now. I remember going with my family as a kid and then going on dates in high school. What’s old is new again.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111411Here’s a few more funnies.
in reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111409Adele, I thought you Red Sox fans would get a kick out of the above. lol
in reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111406Hi Adele,
Those poor bunnies. I guess some things are not meant to be left out in the elements but it would be nice if there was a note in the packaging saying that. However, don’t we all leave our lawn decorations out all year long. I sure do. The only things I take in are the seasonal things.
I can’t believe it’s Memorial weekend end either. I thought it was next weekend. It always has fond memories for me. going to watch my dad marching in the parade. going to a picnic/barbecue in the park afterwards and playing on the equipment with my friends and it was the end of the school year and the start of summer vacation. Such good memories and much simpler times. It’s good to be a kid-too bad we can’t appreciate it at the time. Also wondering every year if my Dad would still be able to fit into his army uniform for the parade. lol That was an annual tradition. The squeezing into the uniform. Until it just couldn’t happen anymore and he became a fire trustee and rode the fire truck instead. lol
Yes, nature does continue. I did take a picture of the groundhog. I’ll see if I can get it on here.
Yes, I was shocked when I heard about 45 and the malaria pills. I guess when you are in power you can get people to bow to your will. Dangerous. Even though all the other doctors are warning against doing this. Tell those Mass. researchers to keep working on that vaccine. Yeah! I found a good corona post that I copied especially for you too. Hope I can find it.
Pretty soon the lilacs will bloom and after that the peonies and lily of the valley. My three favorite flowers.
Milk Days is always the first Saturday in June-it will seem so weird not having that. It’s rescheduled for October.
Have a wonderful day with absolutely no catastrophes. Sending good vibes.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-May 2020 #111399Hi Colleen,
It sounds like the dentist’s office has lots of protections in place. I have a cleaning appointment next week. Haven’t heard about a cancellation yet-I would like to put it off a little longer.
Yes, people are really congregating too quickly. I saw pictures of Orlandp and they were shoulder to shoulder. And the beaches too. Plus if you are out and about that means you will have to use a bathroom at some point and who wants to use public rest rooms right now.
Did your pool make it through the winter okay? We just heard that the local pool is closed for the season which wasn’t a surprise but I feel bad for the kids. Now I’m sorry that we didn’t put the pool in a couple years ago when we were close to doing it-at least they could come here and swim.
You know as a grandparent usually you can jump in and help take care of the kids when help is needed. But now because of the virus we can’t even help out with the kids because it could put us in danger. I feel bad about that every day. Just when we could really help out-we can’t.
I will wait on the beauty shop too-even though I don’t really want to. lol It’s kind of interesting to see the real color of my hair. lol
I heard that they can’t use hair dryers because it would potentially blow the virus around if it was there. So that would mean that I couldn’t get my hair styled. Just colored and cut. Don’t know if it is like that everywhere-just heard it somewhere.
I heard this morning that Notre Dame university is opening to students in the fall. I also heard that applications to colleges from graduating high school seniors is way down. That makes sense. I think if I had a kid that age I would recommend them staying home for a year and maybe taking some online classes from a junior college that they can transfer. Gosh I would have been disappointed if that would have happened when I was that age as I looked forward to going off to college.
Hope your day goes well.
