Hi Adele,
Well Brent’s closing was put off for a few days as the seller does not have all his papers signed from the inspection yet.
So what did Marissa shop for in “Bobby’s kitchen.” lol Their apartment sounds very cute.
When I had a stress test I was on a table after the treadmill-but the table didn’t move the machines kind of moved around me. I don’t know-maybe yours was a different kind. When will you get results. I know when I had mine the doctor came right out afterwards and told me everything was fine-but Greg didn’t have that so I guess it depends.
Well, I’m glad that the president finally came forward with a plan last night. I know we have already changed our behavior and go out less. I think it’s a good idea to cancel huge gatherings.
The thing that is the most scary is i keep hearing that if there are too many cases at once there aren’t enough respirators for those who are badly affected. I hear that in Italy they are having to chose who will get the respirators and who won’t. That is just awful.
I’m trying to keep my stress levels under control. Sometimes I just have to turn off the news.
Greg showed me a picture of our WalMart yesterday-the toilet paper shelves and the bottled water shelves were empty.
I believe in being prepared but I think some people are taking this way past that.
One good thing is I heard them say that this doesn’t seem to be affecting those under 15-so that’s a good thing.
I am praying for us all.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108351Hi Collen,
I am so sorry to hear about Ethan’s friend. I will pray for his family. How traumatic for all the young students. I hope Ethan will get counseling if needed. I thought they had already moved away from Nashville. I guess I was ahead of myself. I know that you just want to go there and hug them all and thank God that they were safe.
I hope that you will be able to visit them in Knoxville soon.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108349Hi Sue,
I love good doctor news! It will be nice to have that handicapped placard so you can park closer to stores.
Your cake sounds delicious! Love peanut butter and chocolate.
I need bloodwork myself as I am due but am hesitant to go to a medical facility and get it done-but I will have to bite the bullet and do it before my RA doctor yells at me for putting it off. lol
I’m loving the extra light in the evenings.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108345Hi DD,
I hope that you can get another computer. I know I am lost when mine breaks as I do lots of communicating and shopping online.
I hope the virus doesn’t hit your building. I hope that we will all be safe from it and that the measures that the country is taking will slow the spread.
I am very concerned and have really gone out less and less. All we can do is take recommenced precautions and pray.
I love your little Snowball-she is quite the character.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108195Hi Adele,
How nice that Marissa can shop in Uncle Bobby’s “kitchen.” Sounds like they are getting settled into their new home. Does it have one or two bedrooms?
Brent is closing on his new home today so we are very excited for him. It is quite a right of passage. I wonder if the new girlfriend will eventually be moving in? I don’t ask-I keep my mouth shut on these things. lol
Jenny and I went to the paddle auction on Saturday night. It’s a fund raiser for the preschool. Jenny’s former SIL and friend is a teacher there and Jenny’s kids went there. It’s a non profit so I consider anything we spend like a charitable donation. You use quarters to bid on items that the different vendors offer. I supply the quarters for us as we have a bag of them that we have from the washer and dryer in our our apartment building. It’s easier than having to carry that heavy bag into the bank to have the change counted. This way we just spend it. lol I won nothing on the paddle bidding part of the auction. Jenny won a couple of things. However, this year they also had baskets that you buy tickets for and drop them into bags to bid on items and I did win two of those baskets. Both of them baskets with dog items in them so guess who got those baskets as we no longer have dogs? lol
It was fun though and it was good to get out of the house as we haven’t been out much due to the virus and I was itching to to something. I figure this was pretty safe as it was a small gathering and no one was hacking and coughing. I washed my hands really well as soon as I returned home. Jenny felt bad that I didn’t take anything home myself but I explained that at this point in life we pretty much have all we need and if I had won other stuff I would have given it to either her or her friend Teri anyway.
We had such a beautiful day yesterday. I know some people don’t like the time change but I love the extra daylight in the evenings.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108192Hi Barbara,
So good to hear from you. I hope that you will continue to recuperate and that the doctor’s have a plan for getting you up and about again.
I’m so sorry to hear that Neal is moving back out west again.
I will continue praying for your recovery. I think about you often and miss hearing from you here on our little Quacker chat page.
Hugs,
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108086Hi DD,
That Snowball is quite a character! I’ll bet she keeps you laughing-which is a good thing. I like laughing.
Barbara is around Memphis and the tornado was in Nashville which is quite a distance away so I am assuming she is safe.
That Thomas Kinkade sure did some nice paintings. We have a few of the prints in our house. They just sort of warm my heart when I look at the scenes depicted.
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108060Adele,
I knew you would appreciate the Rocky button eye story. I wonder what I did with the pictures of him and his button eye. Maybe they were in my old phone or maybe they are in a camera somewhere. The vets are also large animal vets so they are used to being out at a farm and having to “make do” when they are on a call.
Maybe next time Steph and Jhonny are late you should just all eat and clean up and make them a box to take home with them when they arrive. I imagine that might set Steph off though. I can see being a little late at times because of traffic or other things we can’t control but to be consistently that late shows a lack of respect for the worth of other’s time. I guess they figure oh well-they don’t go anywhere anyway so they will just be there anyway whatever time we saunter in. It’s just a matter if you want to make an issue with the possibility of ticking them off. Even though they are the ones in the wrong. Family can get complicated.
Who knew that you could buy a kitchen table at the Christmas Tree shop. That surprised me. We don’t have that store around here-at least not to my knowledge.
Greg always comments to me on your posts on Facebook telling me what you are cooking or eating. lol He’s probably jealous that Gary is getting better stuff than he is. lol
Gailin reply to: Quacker Talk-March 2020 #108021Sue,
I agree, I also enjoy Gardenman’s comments on things. He has a wealth of knowledge about a variety of things. I was very impressed with his self watering garden. So much so that I showed Greg when he posted pictures about it last year. I also read his football postings during the NFL season.
It’s good to know someone else on here watches a soap. I had quit Days for quite a few years but went back to watching it when they hired Tyler Christopher (formerly Nicholas Cassidine). That didn’t last too long until he showed problems with substance abuse and got let go. Then they replaced him with another former GHer Brandon Barrash (Johnny Zacarro from GH) but he got killed off although I hear he is returning but I don’t know who the character will be yet-perhaps he will return from the dead (even though he was a heart donor) as that is a common occurrence in soaps. lol
i have not won a book in quite a while now. For a bit I was on a roll and won several and now it has slowed down to nothing. I hope I will get a spurt of wins again.
