    Hi DD,
Good to hear from you. It sounds like Oregon is doing a good job of keeping Covid 19 cases and deaths down. I wish I could say the same for Illinois.
Today the governor was on TV from home as someone in his office has now tested positive.
I am glad you are liking the memes. I’m trying to bring a smile to our lips as right now there is not a lot to smile about.
We even had a little snow here yesterday. Fortunately it didn’t stick but it’s still getting to be late in the year for that.
Goats are cute-especially the babies. We had a woman in our old subdivision that we all called the goat lady who had a bunch of goats. She was always calling me up and trying to give me a goat-or a kitten. Even though back then we always had two or three cats of our own. She was a character.
Yes two of the four remaining soaps are already out of new episodes. General Hospital is due to run out on May 21-I believe and Days of Our Lives will not run out until the fall because they shoot eight months in advance-so they are in the best shape.
I think TV programming in general is going to start looking like pretty slim pickings as who knows when shows will feel safe enough to shoot again. Some shows were not even able to shoot their full season. And we watch The Voice and American Idol and they have shortened their season.
We may be watching a lot of movies this summer. lol I have lots of stuff recorded on our DVR too.

    Hi Sue,
I like the gummy bear joke.
Our heat is on too. Frost warnings for this weekend.
I know what you mean about people disregarding the rules that are supposed to be in place. I understand that people want to get back to work and support their families-but I am appalled at the number of people who refuse to wear the masks and to social distance. Those are not very difficult things to be requested to do for the greater good. So many people just appear to be very self centered. Greg and I agree that people seem to disregard the older generation and not worry about their health. I guess they figure we are old and expendable. Someday they will be older too and realize that just because a person is older their lives have value too. We are parents and grandparents and still contribute a lot to society and we still have hopes and dreams too and things that we want to do. We want to be around a long time for our kids and grands. We want to enjoy retirement and do things we couldn’t during our working years. Our lives have as much value as anyone else’s. It does hurt to feel marginalized.
Yes, it’s too bad our national leaders can’t set an example for the country.
It is nice that some places by you are offering carry outs for Mother’s Day. I have not seen anything around here but right now I am so out of the loop that I don’t know what’s happening anywhere around here.
Greg’s birthday is tomorrow and Sunday is Mother’s Day. We would usually go out to dinner for his birthday and take Jenny to brunch on Mother’s Day. None of those things will happen. So we will prepare some nice meals here and celebrate at home.

    Hi Colleen,
The same thing has happened to me with the disappearing posts. The last two times the same time as that happened the site also signed me out at the exact same time. It was very weird.
We always give our dogs a different name too. We usually use people names but did have a dog named Shadow once. I have known people who would always get the same breed of dog and also name it the same thing every time.
Yes, I would beware of Aspen Dental too. Brent had issues with them too when he was getting extensive dental work done and ended up switching right in the middle of a bunch of procedures.
I have gone to the same dentist for years and years-or the same practice. When I first started there was one dentist there-then his business was sold to a different dentist when he retired-that dentist was my age and in fact we went to the same college at the same time and lived in the twin boys and girls dorm. I never met him back then though at least not that I remember. Now he has retired and the woman that shared the practice with him has taken over. I like going to a family practice like that where I have known the people for years and years. Speaking of that I have a teeth cleaning coming at the end of the month. I wonder if that will get cancelled or what the situation will be.
It will be interesting to watch as the country reopens. We plan on staying home and not going anywhere. I think even in states that are reopening they are telling the older people to stay home. You won’t have to tell us twice. I foresee us staying out of the public for a long time to come.

    Hi Adele,
Happy Birthday to Tillie. I hope she is getting some new Quacker finery.
I think we all have our weepy times. What we are living through we have no experience with-so every day we are learning something new. Plus we don’t have all of our usual diversions available to us so we have more time to think. I allow myself a little breakdown every now and then and then I shake myself and pull up my boot straps and say okay that’s done and list all of the things that I am grateful for. That’s about all a person can do. We are all strong and we will all do whatever we possibly can to walk through this and come out on the other side wiser and hopefully more appreciative for our lives and and our families and the blessings that we do have which are many.
You know what’s having a resurgence. Drive in movie theaters. Almost the perfect social distancing entertainment as long as you don’t need the bathroom.
Today I am appreciating the beautiful flowering tree that is blooming in our front yard. My only regret is that the flowers don’t last very long. But I will enjoy it while I can.
I didn’t know they had a Sunday night movie. What was it? We watch American Idol on Sunday nights so if it was something I wanted to see I would have to copy it.

    Hi Barbara,
We are cold up here for this time of year. We have a polar vortex late in the year. I think Adele over on the east coast may be the one getting some snow-or maybe even Sue in Pennsylvania. They said possibly a flake here on Saturday or Sunday. Usually around Greg’s birthday is the last frost and his birthday is Saturday.
I bought some new landline phones last year and they are still sitting in the box. lol Don’t want to move on it too fast. This one has a blocker on it so you can block robocalls but I don’t know how good that will be as they just call from a different number then. You know the world will be bouncing back when the calls start coming in again. We like to have a landline too as you can’t count on cell phones out here. Although since we changed providers the reception seems to be better for our cell phones.
Unlike Jerry when I make out the WalMart grocery list I make sure there are some cookies and some cake on it. lol Especially now as it’s essential that we treat ourselves. lol

    HI Colleen,
Do you like the air fryer? Do you use it a lot? And what kinds of things have you made in it? They always look so intriguing but I wonder if I would actually use one if I had it.
Glad you got the AC and heat put in. That is a big job but it will be good to know that you are now set for many years to come. It was nice of you to make dinner for everyone.
I am glad the memes are still making you smile. We need smiles and bright days.
I wonder if in the future the TV programs will ever have stories about this time. I’m sure authors will be writing about it. It seems like it would be easier to write books about it than to show it on TV. I hope when things settle down the doctor’s nurses and first responders get to take some long breaks. Also I hope workers in places like WalMart get some bonuses or something. Plus I hope mental health help is available for whoever may need it.
Too bad Luke’s name wasn’t Linus-then Jenny could have Lucy and Linus like in the Peanuts cartoon. I think they are getting along well and can play together and work off each other’s energy.
