Hi Adele,
It cooled down enough this afternoon that we sat out side on the deck. We sat out in the back yard yesterday but it was a little humid still. I hope that it stays this way for awhile. We do not have the air on tonight so that is always of plus. Maybe our electric bill will be a little cheaper. lol
Here is the recipe for the zucchini bars.
3eggs beaten 1/34 cup sugar, 1cup oil, 1 tsp vanilla,2 cups flours, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1tsp salt,2 cups zucchini, 1 tsp baking powder,
Beat egs and sugar until creamy. Add oil, vanilla, rest of ingredients. then add zucchini,stir in then pour into greased pan. sprinkle with topping and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

topping
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine softened.( I just melt it)
1 cup of chopped nuts
1/2 cup flour.
Just mix all of the ingredients together and drop in different spots in the bars. Then put in the oven,

I hope that made sense. I have made these so many times that it is hard for me to remember the measurements. I just put stuff in there and mixed it together. That is why I had to look for the recipe so I could give you the directions and the amounts of every thing.
You will have some of everything for everyone to enjoy. Will you put whip cream on the strawberries? There is not that many calories in the redi whip or the cool whip. Just get the light. I hope that everyone comes over to celebrate her day. Tell her I said happy birthday.
It was not your fault that I misread her e-mail. I thought that she had answered it and they had asked for money or said something about Quacker or QVC. I had received a thing in my e-mail about entering a contest that the q was doing but I called them to make sure it was legit and they said no. So they were going to check into it. So that is why that is what I was thinking.
It will be nice to watch the Jesse Stone shows again. I wish they would come up with a new one. They have been showing the old ones for awhile. Tom is so good in those movies.

Hi Gail,
Thanks for the heads up for the new book by Patrick Taylor. I am glad that he is coming out with a new one. Those books are so good. I will have one of the kids look it up for me and order it when it comes in. He is such a good author. I should try reading some of his other books. I know that he has some.
Poor Lachlan I am sorry that he did not have lunch on the first day. It is good that they gave him a hot lunch. Here if the kids do not have their lunch they give them peanut butter sandwich. I thought for one day they could just give them a lunch and let the parents send the money in for it. That is sad that he could not open his milk. I hope that he learns how to open them when Adam brings some home from work. It is so hard on kids when they first start. Sounds like Kendall is going to do okay at school this year. it is nice she is in classes with her friends. Doesn’t it seem like the younger kids are more active then the oldest one. They always seem to be shy. Melissa was an outgoing child but she was use to being around her sisters.
That happens here also. We will get all kinds of lightning and thunder and no rain. We have had more rain here lately. We really needed it though. It is funny how it will rain and rain and then it will quit and not rain for a long time. It had been such a long time that we were really getting dry.
It is funny because the first part of the year we did not get hardly any green peppers. Now they are blooming and we have little ones on the plants. I sure hope that we get a lot of them. We sure could use them. We are still getting tomatoes and of course cucumbers. Tomatoes have really slowed down but the cucumbers are still just growing as fast as we can pick them. We also had some cherry tomatoes this year. They grew voluntarily. We also have some type of melon that is growing out there and we are not sure what they are. It is close to the compose pile and so it is anyone’s guess. We will have to wait until it gets big enough to know what it is. It is funny when that stuff grows and you are not sure what it is.
That is so funny that Piper was going to give a speech. Was it a good one? She is so funny. She will be the class clown and have everyone laughing in class.

Hi Dianne,
I misread the e-mail about the calls that you got. I thought that they said something about Quacket or QVC I did not know that you did not talk to them. We are like Gail we do not answer the phone unless we recognized the number. You never know who it is and we usually do not want to deal with them. So we let it alone.
I cannot believe how hot it is getting where you are. You usually have the really nice weather. Did you ever hear from that guy that came to your apartment to talk to you about your complaints. I was just wondering if they have done anything about what you said or did they just ignore it. I hope that they are doing something.

It must have been Gail that made the zucchini pie. I have never made one that I remember. I usually make the bars and the bread. I will post the recipe tomorrow when I am on here. I have to dig the recipe out of the box. That may take awhile.lol
It would be nice if we were all around to hear what all of the grands end up doing with their lives. We have no idea what Aliza is going to be like. She is not big enough to tell. She will be a tomboy that is for sure. The way Owen is treating her already. She will be chasing after him wanting to do what he is doing. He may let her when he is at home by himself but not when his friends are around. That will be something to see.
That is sad that JJ will go back to school and Aizen will have to stay home. He will get lonely. I always feel sorry for the youngest. They get to see all of their brothers and sisters go to school and for some of them it is a long time before they get to go. They have to stay at home with mom and watch her clean house and do laundry.I bet that is exciting for them. My youngest was 6 yrs younger then my middle daughter so she got to spend a lot of time with me.
We grilled tonight. It rained during the early part of the day and then the sun came out. It is still humid but we are supposed to get more rain tomorrow and the humidity is supposed to drop then. I hope that they are right. It is time for fall and winter to kick in. We have had enough heat for this year.lol

Hi Gail,
Kylie does not date anyone. She is staying focused on going to med school. She is kind of like Danyielle was when she was in school. She new she wanted to go to college and have something to do with fashion and she stuck with that the way thru high school. She go out with a couple of guys to prom and things like that but as far as getting serious she waited until she got into college. Even though she knew Justin before they went to college. She did go to prom with him but she made it clear that she was going to college and she had time for nothing else. I think that Kylie is a lot like that. It is a shame my other two girls were not as determined.
It will be interesting to see what he comes out with next. I wish that it would be more about the Irish doctor but I doubt that will be it. I will have to watch for it. I have to go on the discussion about what we have been reading and post what I have done. I was going to do that last night but forgot about that. I will do it tonight. I wonder who he is co writing with. That should be interesting also.
I hope that you do not get really bad storms there. We had rain here but the storms went around us. We are supposed to have tomorrow. I hope that all are okay and that your electric did not go out. Were you with Jenny when it was storming? I know that you had said that she does not like storms. Hope that you had a good time with the kids tonight.
Sounds like it is going to start to cool down for everyone next week. We are supposed to have a cool down also. I hope that they are right. We could all use a cool down.

Hi DD,
I use to get e-mails about QVC having a contest and wanting me to enter. I did call them about that and they said that it was fraud. So I told the girl that I thought that maybe it was but wanted to be sure. She said that they would check into it. Even if those people that called you on the phone did not do anything to you they may get someone that does not realize that it is a scam. If you report it at least the police will be aware of it. You could probably tell them over the phone and not have them even come to your house. It is just nice to make them aware of these things. It just depends how you feel about doing that.
What beautiful pictures. I love that wreath. It does not look that hard to make but looks are deceiving.lol What beautiful waterfall. The fall colors are so pretty also. Do you have a lot of color in the leaves in the fall? I know that we do here and they do on the east coast. We like to look at all the fall colors.
That was smart to cook ahead. It gets so hot in the house when you have to cook. We are going to grill outside tomorrow. It will be nice not to cook in the house. That gets tiresome.

Hi Adele,
At least her boyfriend is a really nice guy and the kids like him. That makes it better if they do. Danyielle is lucky that Owen likes her boyfriend. He likes to do things with him and he comes in from his dads and goes right to Kevin and talks to him.
The muffins look really good. Is that powdered sugar on top of them? They really look good. My sil is going to send some zucchini over so I can start making some bars. I will give them out to the family for Christmas. Ron’s sisters and their kids really like that. It may be all they get this year.lol
Our grands did pretty good at school Kaylee who said that she did not want to go loves school. My oldest grand is really happy to be in school. She is in drama club and they had their first meeting today after school. She will in the first play when they have it. My second oldest really liked school also. She was afraid to go to school because she did not know what high school would be like. Well she really ended up liking it a lot. This is probably getting boring but it is like that when you have too many grands.lol Owen likes his teacher but does not want to go back tomorrow. Ethan loves school of course. He loves to learn new things. One good thing Kaylee does not have the same teacher that Ethan had when he was in kindergarten. They are going to try and keep her out of classes that he was in. They will be comparing her to her brother.
It will be interesting to hear how JJ likes school when he goes back. When do they go back to school? I think that our kids start way too early. It is still so hot this time of year but they have to put up with it. I guess it will be awhile before Aizen will be going to school. It will be fun to hear about him like it is going to be hearing about Piper.
It is starting to get hot here. I am sick of the hot weather.

Hi Gail,
I miss Debbie also. She was so much fun on here. She would make everyone laugh. I hope that she is feeling better. She always had some good stories about her dog. It was funny when she would talk about her dog eating money and she would wait til he pooped it out and would put it back together. I had to laugh at that one. She always had some interesting things that happened to her.
I read that about Kerstin. That was so sweet that she adopted that baby and all of the family was sitting around with the baby and they all looked so happy. She really seems to be a nice person. I wonder if Shawn would say anything until she is sure that the baby is going to be alright since she lost the last one. I really hope that she is pregnant. She wants to be so badly and it would be nice if it did happen for her.
Kaylee ended up loving school. She really likes her teacher and she has made a friend. She makes friends really fast she always has. So she will be fine or at least it looks that way. Kylie wants to be a doctor. She keeps saying that she wants to go to medical school in New York but we have some good medical schools right here in St. Louis. I think that she would be better here then to try and go off somewhere. She does make good grades so we will see what happens. She has talked about being a doctor for a long time. She said that she wanted to be in research she was going to find a cure for diabetes. I think that she has given up on that though and wants to be an MD. I just hope that it all works out for her.
We have a couple of good Chinese restaurants around here. We have to drive to a different town but they usually pack it so it will stay hot. We are getting to where we have a lot of restaurants. Probably more of them then businesses or factories.
It will be interesting to hear all about Pipers first day of school. She will have some things to tell about it I am sure. Her aunt will know what to expect with her so it will be okay. A challenge but okay.
