Hi DD,
I love the pictures of your cat. Jewel looks so relaxed laying on the bed. She is such a pretty cat. I also like the pictures of the old time kitchens. It makes me think of going to my grandmothers and all the fun we had there. She always had goodies for us and I can remember we would sit in the kitchen with the windows open because there was no air conditioning. It did not seem like we minded the heat that much when we were kids.
I am sorry to hear about your neighbor that fell. That is sad that she broke her hip. Hope that things work out to where she can come back home again. It is not fun to have to go live in a nursing home. There is no place like home and that is for sure.
I agree it does not matter where you live you always have some type of bad weather that is worse where you live. We have the bad storms and some earth quakes but not as many as you probably have. We have them probably about as much as Barbara, Adele and Gail have them. The tornadoes are enough.
Are they giving Crit some type of medicine to help with the infection? I hope that there is something that they can do for him. That is terrible that he has a new knee and still has the infection. It is nice that he is back and getting around. That is funny that Jewell went to visit your neighbor the other day. She is so cute. It is great that it made you neighbor smile.
I have gotten food from the q and it is always still frozen when I get it. No matter what the weather is. The only trouble that I have had is one of the sides that I ordered the lids were off of the food. It is the ones with the sweet potatoes and dressing and mac and cheese. It was still frozen though. Do not really know what to do with them but still have them in the freezer..
That was nice that they had that bbq for all of you there. It was also nice that you brought you friend some food. It is hard when they cannot get down stairs to get some of the food. Was it just meat or did they have salads also? That was just a really nice thing for them to do.

Hi Gail,
Sounds like you had a nice day with Piper. She kept you entertained. I am sorry to hear that Jenny was sick. It was a good thing that you were there to chase Finn home. I think that kids are more afraid of grandmas then they are aunts. We are mean people. lol At least he went home and left Jenny alone with her kids. Her kids will probably be better and not bother her as much if they know that she is sick. I hope that she feels better tomorrow.
Ron has ever grown Thai peppers. I may not tell him about them we will have those in the garden next year. He has brought in a basket of jalapeno peppers tonight. He has decided that he is going to can them. Glad that it is him and not me. You cannot touch anything for awhile until you got that stuff off you hands. It burns your face or anywhere you touch until you get it off your hands.
It takes time to get ready for another dog. Ron cannot go without one for very long but I can. When he gets one it takes me awhile to warm up to them. Every time that I do something happens to them. We will probably have Austin for a long time. He does not do much but lay in the yard and go to his food dish. That is the most excitement for him during the day. Ron is already talking about getting another dog. He wants one to replace Biskit. He may have a hard time finding one like her she was one of a kind. I guess we all feel that way about our dogs.
Ron went with me to watch Aliza this time. He did all the lifting. The doctor said that it is hurting my back to drive that far and then pick her up. So I have to stop for awhile until he gets my back to where it should be. If it is not one thing it is ten others.

Hi Adele,
I am glad that the tornado did not hit anywhere near where you live. That is such a mess when trees are down and you have all that mess to clean up. Thank God no one was hurt. That is the scariest part when you have people that have been hurt. I guess every place you live has some type of weather that wreaks havoc in the area.
That was nice that they all had such a good time. It was nice that you made that dish for Steph to take along. I think that you are right. They do not have as much confidence when we are younger cooks as we get as we get older. Maybe because we have the attitude that if you do not like it do not eat it. lol I have had that attitude for a long time now.
Ron went with me to watch Aliza today. She was really good. She did not cry at all today. We went out on the deck at her house and sat and just let her look around. We have to drive to St. Louis to watch her. I had to tell her that I cannot do it for awhile. My back is out again and the doc does not think that it is a good idea for me to drive all that way and then lift the baby. Ron went with me so he could lift the baby for me. Still got to hold her and snuggle. She was so good. She rolled the ball to Ron this time and he got a really big kick out of it. She had a new toy and she really liked playing with it. She goes in her bouncy seat and she really jumps a lot in that. It is fun to see her jumping up and down in that thing and laughing. Every time she jumps it plays music. It is really cute.
Glad that you got your floor moped so you could just enjoy today. It was nice here today but is going to be hot tomorrow and then more rain. My spelling is really bad tonight. Just about every other word the little red line pops up and I have to correct it.
It is hard to find a place in the fridge for things like that. Can you use a dish that seals so it will not come off or does it have to be kept in a crock? That would be easy to knock the lid off or off enough to ruin you starter.

Hi Barbara,
It is so good to hear the joy that you are feeling. There is nothing like a new baby in the family. They are so precious. It is nice that you took a meal over to Sarah and Neal they probably really appreciate it. You should never miss an opportunity to see Colin. We see our grand kids every chance we have. They are all special and there is just something about them when they are babies. They let you hold them and snuggle with them. They grow out of that too fast and you miss it when they do. So enjoy it while you can.
We do have a lot of tornadoes in our areas. I can remember when I worked at the hospital in Poplar Bluff we had a tornado go thru and we stood on the walk way between the clinic and the hospital and watched it. We were young and stupid then. It took the roof off of the house behind the hospital. The hospital was not touched so that was a blessing. I worked as an admission clerk so did not have to take care of patients at that time. I do not think that we thought about what could have happened to us if it had came at us. There would have been no where to go. They let all of us go home at different times of the day to check on our homes to be sure they were not damaged.
It would be nice if they had a plus model. Even if the models that are short were a little heftier. They have two models that are 5’2 but they are so skinny that they are no help. When you have more weight on you and you are short your clothes do not hit at the same spot. Your tummy pulls it up a little. I wish that they would make more of the clothes with a band around the bottom. The tops that are more like sweat shirts would be better to have that band around the bottom. Not a tight band just one to make it look more finished at the bottom. I guess that made me really get started. I think that I better stop now.
It would be nice if she could stay where she is at. They do not take permanent people at rehab though. She sounds like she is really fitting in there though. It may be nicer then she thinks being around people her age and being able to have someone around to talk to all the time. It seems like all older people like to play bingo. I guess I should not talk I am one of the older people now. lol Hope that you find a place that she will like.
It would be nice if we did not get those dumb dust bunnies. If they would just go away we would not have to worry about cleaning that much. I do not like to clean much anymore either. Life is too short and there is a lot of other things that I would rather do. Anyway cleaning gets in the way of my morning nap and afternoon nap. How can you fit all of that in if you are cleaning.lol

I have not read as many books as you have but have read a couple. I read Maureen McCormick Heres the story. It was interesting but she was a mess. I guess a lot of the child stars go thru that but she talks about what all she went thru. I am glad that none of my kids wanted to be child actors. I never thought that her life was perfect but she was really messed up on drugs and mentally. The next book that I read is Take Down Twenty. by Janet Evanovich. It was about Stephanie Plum the bounty hunter. It was really good. I always enjoy her books though. She gets into just as much trouble that she always does but she manages to get out of it. Of course she has the help of Ranger and Morelli It is a really good book.
Gail I have not read as much as you have but I am still reading. I have a lot of new books to read and I need to get started.

Hi Adele,
Sorry that I left that out. You bake it for 30 to 35 minutes and you put it in a 15by 10 inch pan. I just go to the store and get one of those aluminum pans and put them in there. I get two batches of bars out of one mixing. I made 8 pans of it today and still have more zucchini to use. I ran out of pans and out of sugar. I use the disposable pans because I give a lot of it away. I grate the zucchini like you do if you are making cole slaw. I use one of those medal graters.
JJ is really growing. It was hard to recognize him in the picture. Aizen looks the same. He is growing also but just not as much as JJ has. It will not be long and JJ will be back in school. The place that they went to looked really nice. I bet they all had a good time.
It is nice here today. Tonight it is supposed to get down into the 50″. So no air on again tonight. We left it on today because we had the oven on all day with my baking and it got hot in here. Tomorrow I have to babysit Aliza so the air will be off all day. It is not supposed to be very hot again tomorrow. I hope that you weather cools down enough that you can sit on the deck and not be really hot. We have sat out for that past couple of nights.
I have not seen that series yet. Jesse Stone was good but it is the same ones. I am hoping that they will have a new one soon. They have too since suitcase came back to work. There has to be more stories about Jesse Stone. It looked like the woman police was coming back also. They cannot just leave us hanging like that.

Hi Gail,
They get free breakfast here also. They do not want it as much as they use to though. They cannot have the cereal that they want and I am not sure if they do the pancakes anymore either. I guess they figure that they can eat what they want at home.They are all picky about what they eat.
I hope that you get a lot of potatoes and carrots out of the garden. That sounds really good. We freeze the green peppers also. Ron has so many hot peppers that I do not know what to do with them. We have been giving them away also. He always plants enough of them for the whole county that we live in. lol At least they are just the jalapeno and not the ghost peppers again. Those peppers are so hot Ron could hardly eat them.
We watched some of the closing ceremonies of the Olympics but then we changed the channel. You could hardly hear any of what they were singing. It was really bothering Ron so we just turned it. I had trouble so I know that it was really hard on him. I do not know if it was just us or if it was like that for everyone. They may have been having trouble with their sound system since it was raining. We have not heard what the medal count was for the US. We will have to get a paper tomorrow and see if they are in there. I think that the UK came in second for medals. That is what I had heard last.
It has cooled down here also. Ron said that tonight he heard that it is supposed to get down in the 50’s. So we will see what happens.

Hi Barbara,
That is all that I talk about is my new grand daughter. We really like to hear about your new grandson and you family. We all understand how you feel and all the joy that you are feeling. This is such a special time for you and Jerry and the rest of the family and you should just talk about it as much as you want. He will start to do cute little things before you know it. It is fun to share all of it with everyone here. We cannot wait to hear more.
I did not order one thing from Quacker this time around. They had a lot of cute things on there though. I own four of those vests with the t-shirts so could not buy another one. I have the one with the ghost, the butterfly, the cardinal and the can’t remember the fourth one right now. May have to look thru the closet and see maybe it is just three. I really wanted the one with the penguin but they sold that out in my size a long time ago. I am going to have to wait for awhile before I can order anymore. I have a lot of easy pays that I need to pay off before I buy another thing. I have a lot of Christmas stuff on easy pay also. That was boring.
I hope that Joey can post the picture of the baby on here. We would really like to see him. You should have him post a picture of you holding the baby. We would all like to see that also.
They have those scams all over the place now. My mom gets a lot of them. My brother told her that if anyone calls her to just tell them that they will have to talk to her son and they usually hang up. She gets calls where they want to come to her house and she tells them they have to wait and talk to him. So far she has been safe.

When it is hot here we have the air on and we have some fans going. That way we get a lot cooler especially when it is really humid. I do not like to cook in the heat though.
We are going to watch some of the closing ceremony. I hope it is better then the opening. I know that it is hard for them since they do not have a lot of money to put into it. Maybe they will have some really good shows on qvc since the Olympics are over with. The shows have been really kind of boring the last few days. Maybe it is just me.
Well at least Tom will be on to make up for the Olympics being over with. Maybe it will make it more interesting. I have some of the Temptations pieces but not very many. They are so pretty just do not have the room. I have found that they are a lot easier to clean then a lot of dishes.
