Hi Barbara,
I had to laugh when you were talking about Jerry and his lecture. We went to my daughters for a bbq today. All I was supposed to bring was some cole slaw. So I had to ready and we were getting ready to leave when I get a phone call asking me if I could pick up some potato salad for the bbq. They also needed some marshmallows to roast later in the evening. I told Ron we had to go and pick up a few things and he started laughing and said that at least we did not have to cook the meat. Which after we got there she tells me she hopes that she has enough meat for dinner. I had to try really hard to keep from laughing. So even if we go to their houses we still have to bring the food.
This generation is nothing like we use to be. If we would have gone to my mom’s and did not help with the clean up and see if she needed help in the kitchen when cooking my dad would have said something. I would have never gone to someones house and not help with something. It was just not heard of when you went to a persons house for dinner. We always helped my mil also. It is just what you did. Kids now do not think anything about leaving without helping to do anything. My daughters are the same. I get so mad at them sometimes that I feel like not cooking but that would ruin the holiday and I do not want to do that. It is hard to understand why they are like that but they are.
Maybe Jerry was just tired today and tomorrow he will have changed his mind. Just hang in there and do what you want to do for the day. He will be okay with it. He loves you more then anything and will want you to be happy.

Sounds like you had a good time with the baby. It is nice that Jerry got to hold the Colin. It is hard to turn them over to someone else when you get the chance to have them all to yourself. I am glad that you got that time to bond with the baby.
I do not use that grater to do cole slaw either. I get the bag of it already to go and do not have to worry about doing all that work. I just add my tomatoes and onion and dressing and it is ready to go. It is nice that they have all these easy ways to do things now. I do not miss doing it the old way at all. I went to the store today and they had the cabbage grated and it was just the plain cabbage without all the other stuff. That was the first time I had seen that. Ron likes it that way better so got that bag this time around.
We have a lot of mums planted in the yard. They are so pretty in the fall when they start to bloom. We have some bloom early and some bloom late. They are so pretty. I do not know what we will do for decorations this year. I have to get things out for the hay ride this year. I need more skeletons to put up and things like that. The kids seem to really like that stuff. Even the little ones that you would think that it would scare to death they love it. We also got that door bell from QVC that plays Christmas music and Halloween music. It is a lot nicer then I thought it would be. We had a lot of fun with it last year. I had the button in my pocket and every time the kids would get near one of the decorations I would push and it would make spooky noises. It took them awhile to figure out that it was me doing it. It was fun.
Our kids are like that. If we are not home they start calling around to find us. We went to Branson one year and did not tell them. The two younger girls were going crazy trying to find us my older daughter called my cell phone to be sure that we were alright. It was funny. Ron and I both were laughing. At least they did not call everyday because they needed something. They were all married and out of the house. Thought that I better say that. There were times when they were all at home that it would have been nice to just go away and not tell them.lol I guess that all of our kids will find this out when they get older. It is not fun to get older.

How was your high tea? Hope that you had a nice time. We have not had high tea for a long time. We had a bunch of the ladies from my water aerobics class come over. Ruth and I had it and it was nice that we could do it together. We had a ball.
Kylie has been in plays since she was a freshman in high school. She really loves doing it. One thing that I have to say is it has really helped her to make friends and enjoy school more. Now her sister will not have as easy a time as she is having. She will not perform in front of a bunch of people. She has a good voice and could be in the musical when they have one. She is too shy to try out though. We will have to wait and see what happens. It is funny how different two kids can be when they come from the same family.
We are supposed to go to my daughter Mandy’s house for dinner tomorrow. My youngest daughter is coming home and not sure about the oldest. She is such a pain here lately. We are all supposed to go to a winery for dinner and listen to some music. Just us girls not the guys. It will be nice to get away for awhile. I have no idea which one we are going to. It is supposed to be in Farmington so that is close enough to where I live and will not have to worry about driving very far. We have not all gone out in a long time. We use to go out when they were all first married. But that was a long time ago.
I hope that we have some snow this winter. We did not get very much last year. I like the snow now that I do not have to go to work. It is really pretty out here. It lands on the trees and it looks so pretty.
Have you ever watched that show that comes on after AGT? Henry Winkler, Shattner, Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman is on it. They go to all these places and do things that they have never done. They were in Japan this week and it was a riot. Ron and I were both cracking up. i hope that it is that good every week.
I hope that you get some rain and get out of the drought that you are in. They sure are getting it all around you it seems like. They could pass some down your way. We are supposed to get rain here next Thur., Fri and Sat. I hope that they are wrong. We could use some rain but not that much.
I hope that you get to bbq before the rain starts and you have a fun day.

That is nice that Adele will put the bake goods in the window sill for you girls. I wonder how many steps you will have to go up to get to the window sill. If I was going on this crime spree she would have to set up a table on the porch so I could reach the baked goods.lol She should put out a pot of coffee so you can have something to drink. Maybe that is asking way too much. Keeping library books longer then you are supposed to is normal for most people. There are a lot of people that forget to bring the books back. So you will have to do something more daring. Now they have spaces on the parking lots for pregnant woman. They are even closer then the handicap parking places. They have them down here now. Not as many as they have handicap but they have them. I wonder how you can prove you are pregnant when you are in the store shopping. I have not seen any type of sticker that you have to hang on the mirror. It would be obvious when you come out to get in your car. That is just one of those things I wondered about.
Piper is so cute. This is the first super hero princess that I have heard of. She must be a really good one. That is funny that she is so good in school. She is the one that you would think that would be talking all the time. Maybe the other kids being bad in class makes her want to be good. I can just picture her on that ottoman acting like a super hero princess. She must have had you and everyone cracking up. I am glad that she likes school.
I hope that you got to go to the Balloon fest tonight. It is a mess when they have things in town and they never have enough room to park. Then they always rope part off for the people that are working the event. Does Jenny live close enough to walk to where the balloon fest is? Just hope that you get to go and see your friend sing.

Congratulations on your retirement. I hope that you really enjoy it. Just think you can sleep in for as long as you want to during the week now. That is nice that the one man said that if you need help to just call him. That was really nice of him.
That could be interesting you and Gail going around stealing bake goods from Adele. You sure will have a long drive. Hopefully she will have a cup of coffee out on the porch so you can have some coffee to go with you baked goods.lol

Poor Tillie having to take in the packages and none of them are for her. Hope that she got some today and did not have to just watch you open yours. lol You really did buy some nice things. I will get something the next time around.
The kids really like school. My oldest grand is having a great time at school. She wants to do all she can since this is her senior year. It is just hard to believe that she is a senior already. She is trying out for a play at school already. She will try out for all of them I am sure since it is her last year. Hope she gets a lead in this play. They usually give the leads to the seniors.
I really do miss Aliza. I have not heard from my daughters since I quit babysitting. It is really irritating. I am going to have to call them and tell them that we are still alive here. I guess my oldest does not need me right now since I cannot babysit. Sometimes that back fires. She may really need a sitter one of these days and I will not do it. I am in an mean mood this morning. Must be feeling better.
That was not a good idea to send the kids to school for two days and then give them a 4 day week-end. They just got use to going to school and then they have all that time off. I bet Aizen was glad though. He had JJ around to play with. I hope that the weather is good so you can bbq or whatever else that you want to do this week-end. The rain could hold off for a few more days.

Sorry to hear about your friend passing away. I really feel that people are not alone when they die. I believe that God sends an angel to help you thru that time and you are at peace. That was nice that he gave you a compliment. He sounds like he was just a really nice person.
It was the flu that I had. It is going around here right now. They had it at the back doctors office and that is where I caught it. It has been going around for awhile now. I just did not know it until after I caught it. I am going to have to start taking vitamin c again.
Our weather here has been really nice. The humidity is down and so is the temp. We do not have to have the air on so that is always nice. Maybe our electric bill will be cheaper this month if it keeps up.
Are you going to fix dinner for you and your neighbor again for Labor Day? That will be nice if you two can have a meal together and not have to eat alone. It is nice to have someone around that you can talk to and go and see have meals with.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time with the baby. That will be nice to have the baby to yourself for a whole evening. Hold him and spoil him all you want. That is what grandmas and grandpas are supposed to do. lol It will be so much fun getting to cuddle with him. I think that most men understand why we are like that with the grands and just let us have our time with them. That is nice that Neal thought of you to come and babysit with Colin.
It must be funny watching Jerry and his mom at the store. I would be shocked if Ron argued with anyone to buy a higher priced item. He buys the cheapest thing that he can get. Even if it is not the best buy in the long run. Men are funny around their moms. They sure do act different.
We do not have any special plans for the week-end. We may go to the labor day picnic but am not sure. This week-end came up fast. It does not seem like it should be labor day already. This year is really going by fast. It will not be long and it will be Christmas.
That would be something that would have made Ron stay in school also. He loves peanut butter cookies. He loved school all the way thru. He was one of those good kids in school. He was not anything like me. I was never that excited to go to school. I stayed home whenever I could. The only thing with my mom is if you faked an illness to stay home mom always knew. She would make us stay in bed the whole day. So we could get over what was wrong with us. So we ended up going to school it was better then having to stay in bed.lol

I think that you missed your opportunity to lead a life of crime. You will have to be a drop out success story. The life of crime could have been interesting though. What type of crime would you have gotten into?
I am saying a prayer that this will be the year that Kendall does not have problems in school. She is such a sensitive child. Poor Lachlan with the bloody noses. I use to get them a lot when I was younger. They say that the air is too dry inside. I got mine mostly in the winter time. The air in the schools are probably is really dry. So how does Piper like going to school? She probably will have a great time in school she is the type of child that would.
I caught the flu at the doctors office the other day when I was in there. I had to go in one day this week and he told me that they had a few people that were sick at the office. This is the back doctor. So they gave me a b12 shot and I think that is what helped me to start to feel better. I wish that I had know way before that though.
We may go to the labor day picnic for awhile. They have such good food there. I like the potatoes that they make with the cheese on them. I can never remember what they call them. They will also have funnel cakes. They have a lot of craft booths that are fun to look at. It will be fun to be there to see all of that. The weather is really nice here now so we can turn the air off. We are going to open up the house today and let it air out. It needs to be opened up for awhile.
The bbq sounds like fun. Hope that you get to go to the balloon festival. It will be fun. Jenny is working the beer tent. It will be a good place to be if it gets hot. Ice cold beer tastes good when it is really hot.
Thanks for starting the new page. I like all of the pictures that you posted. You find some really cute things to post every month. I am going to have to figure out how to post on here.
