Hi Sue,
I had heard of not heating a bottle in the microwave but that was the only way that I have heard that it was dangerous. How are you enjoying your retirement? I hope that you have some trips planned and you will have a great time. You will get use to sleeping in late it just takes awhile. It will be even better when you figure out that there is not that much to do that early in the morning. That is what got me to sleep in later. There is just nothing going on that early in the morning. It is especially nice when it is cold outside and you can stayed snuggled up in your blankets for a little longer.

I have read that putting a bottle in the microwave is really dangerous. The bottle warmers are okay and milk at room temp. That is what I have heard. So it is just up to them what they do. It is good that he is gaining weight. They are just so cute and so much fun to cuddle. As long as you can do that nothing else matters. Your son will never let anything happen to his son. You have raised good boys. They will never leave you either. He loves and respects you and Jerry and will always come around. They still drop by and call to see if you will watch the baby so it is all good still.
That sounds like a fun day to me. We could all just sit and talk about when we were kids and how much times have changed. We could also bring pictures of our grands and pass them around so everyone can see them. We could rent a cabin with a lot of rooms and we could sit on the porch there and we could all meet. Then the men would not get in the way. Mom would have fun if we stayed for just a day and then I could take her home. She is getting to be a home body now. I guess if I was her age I would be too. We could all bring our specialty that we make or bake at home and pass it around. Now maybe one of the other girls will add more to this and we can all imagine this trip.
That is strange about your sil. I have never heard of that. I guess some strange things happen. I am like you though it would be nice to hear it from another doctor and not just that one. Maybe they could not figure it out and he just came up with that. If there is plaque in his neck and other veins shouldn’t he clean it out? That did not make sense to me either. I am glad that she is feeling better.
That is so cool that you and Jerry are reading a book together. It must make the night go by faster. I do not know if I could ever get Ron to read a book with me. He does not read much.

That would be a hard job having to check IDS. I wonder if she had any of the kids try to buy beer there. They always have a few that try it around here. I guess they think that they look older then they are and will get away with it. I think that they are a lot more careful with it now then they were in the past.
Ron does not mind the heat that much either. I wonder if guys just have better stamina when it comes to heat. Ron will go out and work in the heat also. It never bothers him but I have to remind him to get a drink of water. That is the main thing that I worry about. If he does not drink enough and dehydrates. That could be really bad. Is Greg good about making sure that he has enough water or do you have to remind him? That is one thing men do not think about.
I have not heard from the girls yet to find out if we are still going. I told them that I would watch the baby if she brings her down here if they cannot find anyone else. She did not act like she wanted me to do that. They wanted me to go along. I just hope that it all works out okay.
I lost a good friend today. She was a lot of fun and she will be missed. She was one of the lunch buddies and went to water aerobics with her. It is so hard to lose a friend like that. I guess that it is happening more and more the older I get.

I got some bad new today. One of my friends has passed away. She was one of the lunch buddies and in water aerobics. She was a lot of fun. This all came up suddenly. I just cannot believe it. This is one thing that is hard at our time of life losing our friends. Please say a prayer for her family.
Sorry that you did not get the rain. You really need it. We are getting to where we need more rain here also. It has been really dry. We are not in a drought though. We have had rain off and on all summer. This has been a strange summer this year. It is really hot and humid here also. That is all supposed to change tomorrow. I hope that they are right. I am tired of this hot weather.
Your meat loaf looks really good. I will have to try that with the potatoes on the side of the meatloaf. They would taste good in the juice from the meat. The kids always liked mashed potatoes with the meat loaf but this would be better. I say that like they are all going to be here to eat it. There is no way they would come home for meat loaf.
I think that he comes home in March. I am not sure. I just know that he will miss Christmas with the family this year. It is so hard on all of them when that happens. We are hoping that she will bring the kids down here and let them open their presents. Then they will not be alone on Christmas morning. We put up two trees so they can have their Christmas in the sun room under the Santa tree and we will have the other presents in the living room. We will also make the cookies for Santa here. It is fun to have the little ones here on Christmas eve. They have so much imagination and they hear Santa on the roof. That is always funny.
That was the hottest Labor day that I can remember. Usually it is a nice day and we enjoy walking around the park. Oh well there is always next year.

My daughter heats her baby’s bottles. She has a bottle warmer. It would seem that Sarah would notice that the baby is choking and she needs to change something. It is hard to know what to do when it is a dil. I just have daughters so I can tell them what to do and can snatch the bottle from their hand and warm it. Not so with a dil. Wish I knew what to tell you that might help.
Your meal sounds really good. That was nice that they put the dishes in the sink at least. We started to use paper plates when they come over to eat. That way everything goes in the trash. I even use the throw away pans. So do not have to worry about doing dishes or anything like that. The only thing I forget to buy is the plastic forks and knives. May have to start to buy them also. Just an idea. Ron did not like it at first but after he saw that they were not going to help he thought it was a good idea.
That was not right that she just opened up the package and did not ask you first. At least she is starting to feel more at home there then she did. Poor Jerry is going to let this really bother him. He may end up saying something without meaning to. Just have to remember he loves you and is looking out for you. Ron has said some things that I wish he would have kept his mouth shut about but he didn’t. They just love us and do not want to see us hurt.
Barbara I will be saying a prayer that you find an answer to you problem. I know that it breaks your heart to think that your family is dividing. This will all work out in the end. Just hang in there my friend you boys really love you and Jerry and they will do the right thing.

Sounds like you had a nice time Labor day. The blue berry cobbler looks really good. It is nice to have a small group once in awhile. You can enjoy yourself and not have as much work. We thought the whole thing was funny. We were not upset that she did not have enough meat or that we had to bring the food. It was just funny how it started out to be a potluck and we were the only ones who participated.lol We did have a nice time seeing the kids. The baby was not there. It was just to two younger girls and their family. We got to talk to Melissa’s husband in Korea. Kaylee wanted to talk to her dad. So she let her call him. They can see each other on the phone so it was even better. At least he got to say hi to everyone and he felt included in the gathering. I do not know how my daughter does it. It would be hard to be raising two kids while he is over seas. I guess a lot of women do it but it must be hard. I know that she really misses him and so do the kids. She does not want to hear the news or watch anything while he is away. The only thing that she listens to is the weather.
The linguini sounds really good. We have not had that in a long time. Ron like it with the sauce he is not crazy about spaghetti. He thinks that it sticks together too bad and will not eat it. So what ever floats his boat is fine with me. One is as easy to fix as the other. You are always making such good things. I feel like I need to learn how to cook again.
I am glad that you got more of Aizens stocking finished. Will he have it done soon? Hope it will be ready for Christmas. He will probably really be glad that you made it for him.

We are supposed to go to the winery this week-end. Last week-end would have been really crowded with it being a holiday week-end. I am not sure what is going on though. We have not heard from anyone yet so will just have to wait and see.
We did not go to the Labor Day Picnic because of it being so hot. Most everything would have been out in the sun when we would have been there. They do not have enough shade all over the park. Even the concert stage would be in the sun so it would not have been worth it. So we stayed home in the cool air and just relaxed. Balloon fest sounded like it was way too crowded. They did not have very good parking for the crowd. It is nice that you got to go to two bbqs though and did not have to cook. We have to do what we can I guess to help our kids. They will probably have the same trouble when their kids get older and they have them over for dinner. It is a shame though that you did not get to see your friend perform though. Maybe next year.
That is a shame that it was so windy that some of the balloons could not go up. I guess there were a lot of people disappointed that they did not get to go up for a ride. That would have been fine with me. IT is better to stay close to the ground. I guess Jenny was busy at the booth selling beer, She was probably worn out by the time the night was over. It is so nice that they have things like that still. It is nice to have something that everyone can go to and enjoy.

The week-end has been pretty good so far. We have had some beautiful weather for a few days. Tomorrow we are supposed to be getting really hot again. Then by the end of the week storms. We will see they have not been right that much this summer. I am glad that you are getting some rain. Hopefully the rain will help with the fires in California. Those poor people have really had a lot of fires lately.
I missed the lock n lock today. I really like that stuff. I had never tried it until all of you were talking about how good it is. I was glad that I got some. I need to get more of it and get rid of the storage dishes that I have. They did not turn out to be as good as they said that they were. The lids do not close like they are supposed to so they are no good.
Sorry to hear that your back is giving you trouble again. Hopefully the medicine will take effect soon. There is nothing like having a sore back. You cannot do much of anything when it hurts. There are a few of us on here that go to the doctor for our backs. So we all understand what the other is going thru. The dishes can wait to get done. You need to just rest your back. The back doc gave me exercises to do for my back. Sometimes they help and sometimes not. Just depends on how bad it hurts.
I love the fall pictures that you posted. All the colors are so pretty. Fall is such a pretty time of year around here. It is fun to look at all the trees and all the colors that they have turned.

That is so neat that you have your fall decorations out. I do not have anything out yet. I still have my spring wreath on the door. I need to take that down. This is the year that I am going to have to break down and get some new wreaths for the door. Mine are all getting old and falling apart. I will have to go to Micheals and get some new ones. They have some pretty ones and they are running a sale on them. They have really good sales there all the time.
I am glad that you will be able to bbq.Sometimes it is nice to have a small group for dinner and not a big crowd. It will be nice for you and Heather to have some mom and daughter time together. That is one thing that does not happen often when they start to have kids. They think that things will change when they get older but it won’t they will always be taking care of their kids. I just laugh when I hear one of the girls say when they are 18 they will be on their own and we will not have to do as much. I thought just you wait and see. It is going to be harder then you think. They will need you more sometimes when they get older. I do not know why I get on these kicks here lately. Guess just feeling sorry for myself tonight. lol I like the idea of having all of my friends and their kids come over and we can give them a good smack. They need it. You come up with some good ideas Adele. I am all for that one.
We did have a good time at my daughters tonight. You will have to read what I wrote to Barbara to hear what all went on. I love Ron’s logic. My oldest daughter did not show up for dinner with the kids. That was okay though. When my back is in working order again see if I drive all the way up there to babysit. Okay maybe I will be I will not let her know that.
I hope that you get some rain and not just all that wind. We will see if we get any rain at the end of the week like they are saying. The weather people are not doing very well at predicting the weather here lately. I guess that they try though.
