      Hi Everyone,
I hope June will bring more dry weather and the storms will stop and the river waters recede.
Prayers to all who are in harms way from storms and rising waters.
Also prayers for the families of those who lost loved ones in this most recent shooting. I wish there were some answers to solve the growing trend toward violence in our country. What is the reason that these acts are becoming more and more frequent? All I know is that killing is never the solution to a problem. We really need help from above.
Colleen, Greg’s elbow is still swollen so he will have to get to a doctor sometime. If it were me I would go just because of vanity. lol Now that we are wearing short sleeves you can see the elbow and it is not pretty.
It seems when the kids start to get older we see less of them too. We didn’t see the kids last night either because they were going to the carnival as Kendall was meeting some of her friends. Jenny asked if I wanted to go with but at this stage the walking and standing is not much fun anymore so I opted out. Greg was not home until almost eight from his golf outing. Thank goodness they had one of the few days in the last weeks without any rain.
The Milk Day parade is today and so far it rained this morning and they are predicting rain this afternoon. The parade starts at one. We are not going this year. Many years we would go and then go to people’s barbecues but this year we are staying home. We’ve seen all that stuff many many times and since Jenny doesn’t go now and Adam takes the kids separately it’s not as much fun to go anymore.
Adele, early November sounds like a good time to have Marissa’s shower. You are right-that time of year is very busy for many people and this would be at the beginning of the season before things get too hectic.
You know I just thought of something. Do Marissa and Enzo live together? I can’t remember and if not how will they work things once the baby is born?
I am just the opposite of you-I like to wait for a surprise. I can’t remember the exact event-it was probably a birthday or anniversary but I had picked out a piece of jewelry and purchased it but I put it in the drawer and didn’t wear it until the exact day came around. I guess I can do delayed gratification.
The two party weekend is next weekend. This is Milk Day weekend where they have a parade and carnival and entertainment and such. Jenny runs in the 5k Milk Run in the morning. We used to go to a lot of barbecues but this year we are staying home.
A family came to look at the boat this morning and they want to buy it but they want to take it into a boat place and get it checked out probably next Friday-so I hope that works out. I’m uneasy about letting them take the boat but Greg seems okay with it (he trusts people more than I do) we do have a down payment-don’t know how much that is but still after we got robbed last year I am always skeptical. But I could tell he was going to argue with me about this so I just let it go and let him do it how he wants to do it and pray that we don’t get ripped off and that there are still some honest people left in the world.
You know I forget that JJ, Aizen and the new baby are your great grandchildren and that they are Tillie’s great great grandchildren-that seems unbelievable-you are too young for that!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

      Hey Gailster
I hope those people do buy the boat. I would say if they are actually taking it to their guy for a look see, they are serious about the sale. i am like you- hope he got a big down payment!
I hope Greg gets the elbow looked at. Elbow’s hurt like hell.
Enzo and Rissy do live together. Enzo has a room and bathroom on the second floor of his parents’ home. They don’t have a kitchen. Enzo’s dad wants to rehab the side of their house, and make it into a full apartment for Enzo and Rissy, and the baby. To the right of their home, is another section, that used to be a store front. So, there is plenty of room. The garage for the house is in between the 2 structures. Enzo will work on that with his Dad, and they hope to get it done before the baby is born. So I guess the house hunting may be off for now….LOL
Wow- you do have a busy social life lately. I love the Milk Days pics on top. Don’t you hate it when the kids get older, or there is a divorce, and everything fun changes? We have had that a few times over here, with Heather and Bobby’s divorces. I loved it when we all went apple picking. Itwas so much fun with Bobby and Jen, Heather and DJ, and all the kids. those days are long gone, and my joints went with them…..LOL
Hope you have a good day!
Yes, I am the crazy one who can;t stand a surprise, as I just cannot wait.

Well we are sunny today but they are calling for showers tonight. It seems we have trouble getting a completely dry day. But it is nice to see the sun on a weekend.
Our Sharp Shopper is having Customer Appreciation Days all next week. They are having Door Prizes, Daily Giveaways & Special buys. They are having a ton of prizes some donated by local businesses they will have drawings for & Wed. thru Sat. you can get a hotdog, chips & a drink for 50 cents. So I will get lunch one day it is not got for you but it is cheap. I was glad they put this store in as it is only a mile from me. It is a grocery outlet & I think are only in PA. You can get some good buys on name brand items but what you find one time may be gone when you go the next time. You must check some items as they may be outdated. They do have things they carry all the time bread, milk etc. also frozen vegetables in big bags that I buy when I cannot get fresh those things are never outdated. I am sure this is boring to all of you but around here that is about as exciting as you get. They are building a Thrift & Gift store beside it. I need to see if they take donations. I think they do but need to know what all they take.
As for surprises I like to wait. The anticipation builds up. If you know ahead of time there is nothing to look forward too.

      HI Ladies,
Well, it’s a lazy Sat. afternoon. It’s almost 80 today. Gorgeous day out. Our annual Rose Festival is in full swing. Actually the fun center opened last weekend, the carnival rides, etc. Tonight is the Starlight Parade thru downtown Portland, it starts after dark, hence the name. Later in the week the Junior Parade will wind thru another part of town, the kids on their bicycles, tricycles, wagons, the kids dress up & have lots of fun. Then next Sat. will be the big Rose Parade. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for all the parades. I’ve seen em march in pouring down rain, or 90 degree weather. IT’s a 5 mile parade so the heat isn’t the best.
I pretty sure the Grocery Outlet store you spoke of Sue is out here as well. In fact there are several around the area. I’ve been in a few of em & saw many brands of can goods I never heard of. They do sell discontinued items. I found a fave flavor of Haagen Daaz (?) was discontinued & found it there.

Gail, I hope for your sake those people won’t rip you off. Is there any way Greg could meet them there with the boat? I know how ya feel after being robbed. I’m not as trusting either.
Adele, I thought the family or friends of the expectant mother made the plans for the baby shower? Maybe I’m not up to date on how things are done now.
Can you believe we’re into June now? Almost half way thru the yr. Where has this yr gone??
I hope everyone is safe from those storms. We could use a little bit of the rain, since they keep saying we’re a tinderbox ready to explode.
I just heard something going on down on the street, so I looked & there are a whole bunch of cyclists tying up traffic down on the street. There’s a soccer game tonight in the newly remodeled stadium. They put in 4k new seats for more people, along with a nice cover over the seats. My friend is a big soccer fan, but I don’t care for it.
Well, I guess that’s all for now
      Take care & stay safe.

Just dropping in and hoping this crazy computer will actually let my note come through to you all. We have had a pretty busy week. We drove about 60 or so miles up towards Nashville to meet Jerrys brother and his wife for lunch one day. The traffic was so busy and I get nervous in heavy traffic. We made the trip fine and really enjoyed our visit with them. They are so sweet and I can’t wait until we can spend time together. My SIL said that her hubby tries to do things that he is not really able to do at this stage and she worries but knows he will get mad if she says something so she just tries not to watch. lol I said well it sounds like we have a lot in common and that I guess men just have a really hard time accepting change in life. But truthfully, so do I. I took her something I got off the Q. It is one of those Barbara King sandstone globes that morph light on a timer. I have one like it on the patio since it is covered; and she called me and said she put hers on the hearth inside. She really seems to like it and I just love mine. It was a little pricey, but I got them with the six payment thing one weekend when they had this as a special. Mine is sitting right in the middle of the wrought iron table. I know our baby loved it too. When it came on right at dusk dark; he said “Ohhhh” and so you know that made me happy.
Adele; I am praying for only good news about Heathers surgery; and I am so happy she went ahead and got the surgery so they could take care of things right away. Young people are so resilient; but I know you are worried and we just can’t help but worry. But if love makes things continue to be good then I know your love for her will keep her getting better and better. I know you are so excited about Marissa’s itty bitty. I think November would be perfect for the baby shower. Has she had much morning sickness? Hope not. Is Enzzo real excited too? They have a wonderful little place for their apt. since someone will be right there should she need something if Enzo is gone. How does his Mom and Dad feel about the baby? I don’t see how anyone could not be happy. Our baby is just growing and growing. Jerry made a precious video of Colin and me dancing to the music from The Lion King. We watch it whenever we are having a “Colin” moment. lol I surely understand that old bumper sticker I used to see years ago that said “Ask me about my grandchildren” ha ha And I agree with Gail, you look WAY too young for great grandchildren. And Ms. TIllie too. Hope she is doing well. Also hope your poor shoulder is doing better.
Hope by now you have that boat all sold Gail. Your milk days pictures remind me of ones from the past you have shown us. We have been on here quite a while. This is a wonderful place to meet some special people. I am like you too. I would have been leary about letting someone take the boat off, but also like you I would have said, whatever he wants to do just go along. Things like that to me are just not worth fussing over. I think the bottom line is I am too lazy to even fuss over most things. ha ha
Sue, I think getting a special discount on something is good news. I love a bargain. I have gone up to be checked out and I ask when they ring up an item that is on special what the charge was because around here a lot of times they do not give you the discounted price, and if you don’t ask you don’t get it. I will not keep a long line of people waiting but I do want to get the advertized price. Do they do this in your area? Probably not, but it is a real problem here. We have two grocery stores in our little town. One is the Walmart and the other is a Kroger. Both stay so full unless it is too late in the evening for me to be out. I am thinking of doing the ordering online and then pick up but don’t know much about it. Do any of you use this service? Would love for you to share with me how this works. It would really help us. I just ordered from the Q a Cooler bag from California Innovations for bringing home the cold things from the store. It gets SO hot here in the summer that your car is like an oven.
Hope you are doing good Colleen. I know you have been so busy but I hope by now that things are beginning to calm down a little and you are able to get some much needed rest.
DD your pictures were wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
I know I have missed so much of your news but trying to catch up. I better go for now before this thing acts up again. Hugs to all, and take care. Barbara

      Hi Gail,
It is sad that you are not going to milk days You use to have such a good time. I bet the kids will miss you and wish that you were there. Do you know if your grands entered in any of the events this year? It would be nice if they did. I wonder if Piper is going to be interested in showing animals or cooking. She is so much fun and would enjoy anything that she can do.
I hope that Greg will go to the doctor and see if they can do something for it. Men never want to go right away and get things done. I do not understand why they are like that.
I know our older grands are working a lot and so if they go anywhere it makes it even harder to see them. Kylie and Brook both work nights or evenings. So that makes it even harder to see them. Owen is always with his dad or it seems like it. I wonder what will happen if Danyielle and this other guy split then The kids will be going in two different directions. This makes things really hard. They are doing fine but I always worry that something will happen.
I hope that these people will buy the boat. It would be nice to get it sold. That is a shame that Brent is not around to go for rides with Greg on the boat and fish.
Well the Cubs have been playing the Cardinals. They are tied right now but they are in a rain delay. It will be interesting to see who wins. The cardinals are not doing that well this year. It is really bad.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Barbara,
That was nice that you and Jerry went to lunch with His brother and wife. That was a nice drive sorry about all the traffic. It does not seem like you can go many places that there isn’t a lot traffic. My kids are talking about going an vacation in Tennessee this August. They want me to come along but I am not sure that I want to go. They all got mad at each other last time. So I guess if we go we will get our own cabin. If they do not get along we will be in our own cabin and will miss out on all the disagreements.
How is Jerry’s mom? I have not heard you say much about her lately. Did she get to see Colin when he was there? I bet that she really enjoyed seeing him.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi DD,
It does not seem like it should June already. This year is going by fast. We have a lot of birthdays this month and the rest of the year. Everyone is getting older too fast.
It sounds like every one is having festivals right now. I have never heard about the Rose. Do they do a lot of fun things at it? We have nothing until July. We are really boring around here. They see to get more excited about High School reunions and things like that. It is strange here they do not play foot ball at our schools in our area. So for our reunions they play basket ball. It just does not seem like a sport that would get the kids all fired up.I do not see how they march in parades in the heat. Can you imagine how they do it.
Well that is all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Sue
I would love a store like that up here, with the prizes, and .50 hot dogs. Gary would be there every night! It’s like a country fair in June. You will have to let us know how it was.
We had sun today, after the fog burned off. Now, it is getting scary looking out there. We are to have thunderstorms later.
So, Heather left to go to a meeting, and Steph and Jhonny came to play with the kid outside. Bobby went to get us something simple for dinner, as they want to stay. I am glad they are staying, as I love having the boys around. Im attaching a pic of me and Aizen watching the Bruins last night.
I hope you have fun at the new store, and the other store next door. Too bad it is so far away, or I would go with you.

      Hi DD!
That store sounds fabulous. I hope they start to come up the coast to us.
Wow- you certainly had a lot of parades this weekend. How come not on Memorial weekend?
The weather here was nowhere near 90. It has been on the 70’s , which is fine with me. You know how much I hate the humidity.
Well, the house is now quiet. Too quiet. I already miss the boys, and their noise. just before they left, we got visited by 2 ducks in the pool. I am attaching the pic. Right after the ducks were here, the Heavens opened up. It got pitch black, and poured. No thunder, or lightning. Was weird.
I love your pics. they are always so uplifting, and happy. Keep them coming! We need happy. everyone does.
So.I watched ITKWD. and then googled the rest of the show. i did not see any BooFetti. Did I miss it in another show? I hope not….LOL
Yes, the shower is supposed to be run by the family of the new Mom, and it is supposed to be a surprise. Not this one…..LOL Heather has only one place that called back, and it was 300 for the room, another (possible)150 for the bartender, and if they did not make at least 150 from the bar, you had to pay the 150. She doe snot even want a bar. As an AA member, she does not want her daughter’s shower to be all about the drinking, and I do not blame her. So, all is still up in the air.
Hope you have a good night.

      Hey Barbara
Well, we don’t have a Kroger either. We do have Walmart, Target, and a couple of big box membership clubs- Costco and BJ’s. I love BJ’s. I get such great prices on Purdue chicken and other meats.
Heather just does not feel good. She is coughing all over the place, and I told her if she does not call her doctor on Monday, I am going to call myself. So,how will this look….”Hello, this is Heather’s mother, and she is sick and refuses to call you. Please send the ambulance to come pick up her sorry behind”. I gave her “the look” when i said it, and she knows I will. She is still bleeding too,and she has to call her gyno on that too, as he wants to see her if it did not stop by the weekend. we let her sleep later today, as I had the boys up and was making them all blueberry muffins….see the pic.
That sounded like a lovely visit with your in-laws. How has Jerry’s Mom been? Have not heard about her in a bit. That means she is good, I bet.
Tillie is ok. She has been getting very shaky lately. I know it is the age. Bodies were not made to last 93 years. Mine certainly isn’t….LOL
Are the kids all settled in, in their new home?? I hope so, so you can plan a visit soon.
I am going to check out that globe you talked about. You are such a sweet SIL, and she certainly will enjoy it for years to come.’
Hope you had a good weekend, and a great Sunday….I don;t like a lot of traffic anymore either. It is our ages….
      Hope your weather is good!

      Hi Ladies,
Adele, no I don’t think you missed any more Boo fetti. She had a set of 2 bowls today, all seasonal (summer) patterns. Firework fetti, summer, oceanfetti, egg hunt, fire work (floral lace) sold out. That’s all I’ve seen since the boo fetti. I love the oceanfetti, so I ordered the set of bowls.
I’m surprised to learn you don’t have a Kroger’s out there. We have a grocery chain that was started way back in the 1920s called Fred Meyer (after the founder). Kroger’s bought it several yrs ago, but they kept the name FM. They sell the Kroger brand name tho. We have WalMart, Target, and the Grocery Outlet stores, among others around the area, burbs. There used to some mom & pop stores, but I think with all the big box stores they’ve gone out of business.
I’m sure there were ceremonies for the lost on Memorial Day. Fly overs, ceremonies at the National cemetery on Memorial day.
We just had one parade this weekend, the Starlight parade, last night. Mid week will be the Junior parade, with the little kids, then next Sat. is the big Rose Parade. The Rose Festival has been going on for the better part of a century now.
I was a busy little bee today. I moved furniture around, vacuumed, did the dishes, went to the store. I’ll probably pay for it tomorrow.
On the way to the store, one of the residents came up to me, asking how I was doing. He offered his condolences, & offered his kitty if I needed some purrs & love. He was so sweet. I may take him up on ‘borrowing’ his kitty.
I hope Heather gets to the Dr. in time. IT sounds a miscarriage to me. Even tho I never had any kids, even I know when it’s not good when she’s bleeding, etc.
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight.
      Have a great week everybody!

      DD,
I’d be more than happy to send some rain your way. We have had enough for awhile.
How nice of the man to offer you some kitty time.
I hope you are not too sore today from the rearranging.
I don’t think I remember Campbell’s soup coming from the frozen section. I wonder when that was?
I like the picture of the picnic set up in the back of the pick up. Country Tailgating? lol

      Hi Sue,
We do not have any Sharp Shoppers here but i like the name.
Maybe you will win one of the prizes if you enter.
I like the 50 cents for a hot dogs chips and drink. You sure don’t find that anywhere. Hey we like our senior discounts too.
I hope that you get some sunny days. We are tired of rain too. We are supposed to get more about four days this week too.
The only good thing is that for the most part the temperatures have stayed in the 70’s which I like.

      Barbara,
It sounds like you had a nice visit with your BIL and SIL. It’s just nice to get out for a day and do something different. That was so sweet of you to bring her that gift. It sounds very pretty.
Jenny uses the WalMart pick up every week. The WalMart in our town doesn’t offer the pickup but the one a town over does. It just so happens that Jenny passes by there on her way home from work. I think you go online and fill out something for the groceries that you want and then they fill your order and give you a time frame to pick it up. I can ask her if you need more details. She uses it every Friday on her way home from work. it’s such a boon for her especially now that she is divorced and would have to take the kids with her every time she shopped. It’s time saving for her too. The only thing is you don’t get to browse and maybe check out some of the new things. But for her life it works perfect.

      Hi Colleen,
The kids didn’t enter anything for Milk Day this year. Piper really should have entered the princess contest before she is too old but Jenny doesn’t have anyone to sew the crepe paper dress and they are expensive. They are all in 4H so they will most likely show something at the fair in August.
I think The Cardinals beat the Cubs these last two games. We did not play well. It’s a good thing I do not live in Missouri as then I would probably be a Cardinals fan and then i would have to think about our crazy cardinal who is finally gone.
i see there is now a new family of cardinals in a tree in front instead of the pine tree in back. I wonder if they are relatives of our old head banging cardinal.

      Hi Adele,
That is very nice that Enzo’s Dad wants to make a place for Marissa and Enzo and baby. He is a generous man. I’ll bet they are very appreciative.
i can’t believe you were watching hockey! I never hear you say you watch sports. If they win the Stanley Cup that means that you will have a football and a hockey championship. You guys are getting to be championship hogs! What’s in the Boston water? Do you have a recent World Series win too? I can’t keep track.
I love that the pair of ducks came to visit your pool. We used to have a pair of ducks that would stop at the pond in the spring but they haven’t been back in a while.

      Hi DD!
I think you have Heather (my daughter, grandmother of new baby coming), and Marissa (who I also call Rissy, daughter of Heather, mother to be) confused. It is very easy to do, with all the names on here from all of us.
Heather has the stage 1 cervical cancer, and Marissa has morning sickness. Heather also has an awful cough, and she has to call her doctor today, or I am going to freak. I am afraid she has pneumonia. she keeps saying it is allergies.
You have a lot of parades scheduled. I hope you will get to see all of them. Do you usually go?
What a nice neighbor, who will let you visit with their kitty. there are nice, kind people everywhere, no matter what we hear on the news. I am glad you have some in your building.
I don’t remember the frozen Campbell soup, or the Fizzies drinks. We have a Dollar Store near us, which sounds similar to Sue’s store they are building near her.
I love the pic of the cats near the fireplace. Animals near a fireplace, are always comforting to look at.
We got pouring rain late yesterday, Steph and the kids left just as it started. no lightning, which was good. I do not think it was hot enough.
Today, Aizen goes for his pre-screening for Kindergarten meeting. I am dying to hear how that one goes.
Hope you find at least one thing to smile about today. I wish I had some funny story to tell!

      Hey Gailster!
As a matter of fact, we did win the championship baseball last year. So the Red Sox, and the Patriots have won. The Celtics and the Bruins are on their way to possible wins. They interviewed some fan, and he was yelling….”Hey, we have not had a parade in 4 months, we are due”. How funny is that?
I don’t usually watch, but poor Gary has been knocking himself out on the pool, so I did not want to be mean, and not watch the game with him. there is another game tonight- we won 2, they won 1. Tonight is game 3 for the Bruins.
i was so happy when we saw the ducks. I did not see them last year, and I thought the pair had died over the winter. We have had ducks in the pool every year, accept last year. These came just before the huge rain storm. Aizen tried to get too close, and they took off.
The Aizen goes for his pre-screening at school today. We all all afraid….LOL His speech is not clear, and I have always thought he needs a little help with that. he talks very fast, and some words are not pronounced correctly. I told Steph they may just give her some facial exercises to do with him. other than that, he is very bright…..I think…..LOL then again, the sun rises and falls on his cute little face- to me….LOL
I am exhausted today. I hurt myself a little the other day, getting into my recliner. When I pushed back, i felt it in the arm and shoulder. So,now Gary has to help me push back, as it hurts. Oh well. It will pass, I know it will. Just aggravating to have to ask for help to get into my comfy chair. It is what it is. Had to reschedule my dentist appointment today, as I would never be able to sit in the chair today. get this…..so, I pull up my pants yesterday, and wrench the back on the right side. Seriously? I have been praying to the Sky Boss to let this shoulder heal a little, and I think he said no. When i wrenched the back, I looked up and said, “Really God? Is that your answer?” I hope he has a sense of humor….LOL
Hope your day s is going well.

      Hi Adele,
OPEN MOUTH INSERT FOOT!!! That’s me all over, Mable. I was confused. Sorry. Did you get Heather to go to the Dr.? We’re having a severe allergy
season out here. One town south of here has the highest percentage of allergies in the country. Right now it’s grass seeds. Did you hear about the forest fires in Canada? they say the smoke will be heading our way eventually. and we’re heading into the 80s nest week.
I thought everyone our age would remember the Fizzies. You’d drop one in a glass of water & it’d fizz till it ran out. The bubbles would tickle your nose. To me it was like Kool Aid with bubbles. lol
Well, I guess that’s it for tonight

      Hi Gail,
It is funny that Piper did not run for Princess. She would have made a cute one. I guess that the kids are getting older and not as interested in doing that any longer. It is so sad when they start growing up and change. It is interesting to see them change but sad at the same time.
That is surprising that the cardinals are winning any games. They have really been having their problems this year. I think they need a better coach then what they have. I said that like I was an expert or something. lol I do not know what happened to the cards they use to be so good. I do not understand what happened to them.
I hope that the cardinals do not turn out to be ones that will fly into the window. It is fun to see the baby birds after they hatch. We have a dove’s nest in the rafters of our shed. There are eggs in it but they have not hatched yet. I cannot wait to see them. I just hope that what ever got our gunniea. We only have one left now. I hope that he does okay alone.
We are starting to get things out of the garden. We picked a bunch of green onions and are planting more. Ron picked a hot pepper also. It is really early for them to be coming in but here they are.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Adele,
I read DD’s post and it scared me at first. I thought something had gone with Marissa. Thank God that she had Heather and Marissa confused. I hope that both of them are doing well. I hope that Heather gets over that cough. That is really going around.
That is cool that the ducks came back. Do they get in the water or just walk around on the rim. It is so funny that they come back every year. I hope they keep coming back.
Is Aizen excited about going to school? He will probably do really good. My grandson had trouble with his speech when he started school. They just worked with him and he is doing fine. They did not have to work with him for long. He use to get in a hurry when he was trying to talk. I think that they are talking so fast that they do not realize it. I guess some kids get too excited when they try to tell you something.
I hope that you are doing better. You can hurt yourself pushing those recliners back. How can a chair be so comfortable and still hurt you so bad while getting to a comfortable position. It is not fair. I do not think that the pain in the back was answer to your prayer. At least I hope not. I do think that God has a sense of humor.
There is not a lot going on around so I will close for now. Have a great night.

      Hi DD,
I remember fizzies. They were fun to drink and sometimes we would put a piece of it in our mouths and just let it fizz. We use to think that it was funny. We
were strange kids. I do not remember the frozen soup though. I wonder why they stopped making it.
That was nice that your neighbor offered to let you hug his kitty. That would be nice to just hold a kitten for awhile I am glad that you are going to take him up on it.
I hope that smoke does not come down to your area. I had not heard about the fires in Canada. I hope that they out them out soon. That is such pretty country up there. That is all you need there is more smoke from fires.
We use to have a Kroger here but they closed it. They do have them further south from us. I think that it is closer to the Arkansas border. I really use to like that store. We shopped there every week. They always had really good produce.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi DD,
I remember fizzies too. I didn’t remember the frozen soup but doing a little research it seems like it was around in the 50’s. And I think if I really stretch my memory I can remember my Mom having frozen cream of shrimp soup. something I had totally forgotten. It’s fun to try and remember stuff like that.
Does anyone remember the curling irons that you actually heated in the fire on the stove top. My Mom actually used that to curl our hair when we were little. Nothing like the smell of burnt hair. lol When I tell my stylist about that she thinks it’s so funny. lol I wish I still had that tool. I wonder if my sister has it.
Ha ha-I like your picture of the cardinal by the birdhouse. I hope that’s where he stays. What a cute Americana porch. I like the Westie in the picture since Jenny has a Westie.

      Hi Colleen,
I remember fizzies too. That’s a blast from the past!
I wonder if they stopped making the frozen soups when preservatives became available. If you think back freezer compartments in the refrigerators were quite small back then and few people had separate freezers like we can have now. So I imagine freezer space was very dear and people had more space in cabinets or pantries so the non frozen soups were probably a big deal when they came out. Longer and easier storage. That’s just my guess on how it all worked.
I think Piper would have liked the princess contest but I think Jenny never pushed it as she would have had to find someone to make her dress. The costumes have to be made out of crepe paper and they are very elaborate so you have to find a talented seamstress to sew one. Just like everything else they were simpler at first so just a mom at home could make them but now they are very elaborate like a ball gown and not just anyone can sew one-especially working with crepe paper. And you have to have a nice one in order for your child to be competitive in the contest.
It seems like sports teams go through phases where they are very good and then they get not so good and have to build back up again. Most teams aren’t great year after year after year.
I can’t believe you are down to only one guinea. That one must be fat from eating all those ticks! I hope it does okay by itself. Did you know that possums eat ticks too?
We won’t have anything from the garden until about mid July. We should grow green onions-that sounds good. We have had plenty of rain but we need some more sun now. We haven’t had to water the garden though-that’s about the only good thing.

      Hi Adele,
Ask Gary if he remembers Fizzies-I know Greg remembers that kind of stuff better than I do most of the time.
Aren’t the Bruins playing Saint Louis? That would be you vs. Colleen. I like going to the semi pro hockey games by us-the parking is easier and the arena is smaller than trying to go see the Blackhawks-I so appreciate the skating skills as I skated every day in the winter when I was both in grade school and high school. I enjoy skating in all it’s forms-figure skating, speed skating, hockey.
I bet Aizen will do fine with his screening. A lot of kids seem to grow out of their speech problems-but if not the schools have help available.
is he excited to start school. Are your kids out yet. Our kid’s last day was Friday.
Maybe you will have to get an automatic recliner where you just push the button to adjust it. Thank goodness they have those things available.
We are supposed to get more rain today and tomorrow. They are supposed to be coming out tomorrow to reseal our driveway but they won’t do it if it rains. It’s kind of a pain as you can’t use the driveway for 24 hours afterwards so you have to park in the yard and try to get the car out over the hump at the end of the yard with out scraping the bottom.

      Hey DD!
You did not put your foot in your mouth! How can anyone remember, or keep straight, all our people, pets, and issues? Just not possible at all. I get confused too. We all do.
The fires in Canada made smoke come our way last week- the sky was very overcast. it stayed for a couple of days. I have not heard any up-date on those fires at all lately. I think there is so much news every day, everything does not get reported.
Heather still has not gone to the doctor. So, today she comes here, and says she is going to the ER after she drives Gary around on his route today. Finally! I think she scared herself, as she had trouble breathing last night. I am pretty sure she has pneumonia. I will let you know what they say.
Did you watch the Bruins game last night? We did. So, now the teams are tied- each has won 2 games.
It is going to rain soon. It got a lot chillier.
Some animal got into the window boxes- it ate some basil, and another spice. There is dirt all over the deck….LOL It has to be either a squirrel, or a chipmunk. Who knows!
Hope you have a good day. I am doing a simple supper- zucchini and eggs. You cut zucchini into thin slices, and fry them in butter, until done. then you beat up eggs, add them to the mixture, and cook til done. It is great in a sandwich. (If the zucchini gets too juicy, you get some of the liquid out of the pan before adding the eggs) I do about 3 zucchini, to about 6 to 8 eggs, for me and Tillie.
      Have a good day!

      Hi Colleen!
Heather is still sick, and finally agreed to go to the ER today, after she gets back here with Gary. She is driving him around today. She sounds awful. She got scared last night, as she had trouble breathing.
Marissa just stopped by for a few minutes. She is so cute. We chatted about the shower ( she finally agrees the second week in November is good for the shower…LOL) She was looking at cribs on Amazon, and we chatted about that too. She has the appointment for the ultrasound.
The pain in the back is almost gone. The arm and shoulder are better too. It always takes a couple of days.
Did the birds lay their eggs yet? I love to see the baby birds. It is so exciting.
read the post to Dd for the animal news…..LOL
Hope you have a good day…….did you see the Bruins game last night??

      Hey Gailster!
Gary does not remember them either. When DD described the drink in more detail, I had a faint recollection of them….not sure if that was it. I remember a stick that fizzed when you licked it- a sour taste one.
Aizen did well- the teacher who did his test is the one he will have for Kindergarten. I think that is great, as it takes some of the anxiety about first day away, when you have met the teacher. He was saying he was not going to school. So, we will have to see what he says now. Not like he has a choice!
OMG….I did not realize our team was against Colleen’s…..LOL
I may have to look into auto recliners. Too bad, as I really love mine.
Our kids are still in school. As a matter of fact, the 8th grade just left for a trip to Washington DC. Enzo’s sisters are on that trip, as well as my neighbor’s boys- both are sets of twins. JJ will be going in 2 years, I hope. After 911, the schools cancelled those trips, so Marissa and Amanda never got to go.
I think they kids get out of school a week from Friday- not sure.
      Hope your boat sold…..

I broke down and went to the grocery store today but just purchased the necessities. lol This has become a job and not fun anymore. You all will laugh when I tell you what we ate for dinner last night. We had gone to the local vegetable stand on he highway the day before; and I had picked up some squash, tomatoes, peaches, onions etc. so I baked some squash; warmed up leftover baked chicken, and we ate a peach each for dessert. That surely beats the cereal we ate the night before. lol We are in a slump with our meals. It is just SO hot here, and we are expecting the rain and storms to start sometime again tonight, and from what I saw on the weather report is to last off and on for several days once it starts. The poor people west of us have had so many storms and flooding. It is so sad.
DD. we had something as children that was called POP Rocks, and they would fizz and pop in your mouth. I am not sure if you were supposed to put them in water, but we didn’t and if you put too much in your mouth it would feel like your head was going to fly off. LOL We have cylinder like cans of frozen orange juice here, and Jerry always has me get it for him and reconstitute it. by adding water. Jerrys Dad used it for his juice when he lived out here with us all those years, and the boys grew up thinking their Paw Paws juice was so “fancy” and it took years for them to try brands like Tropicana after they were grown. It is sort of sweet that they loved him so much that they found his to be the best through the eyes of love.
Jerrys Mom has a cold. When visiting we noticed she was coughing and had congestion in her chest. The doctor did order her some antibiotics and some Muscinex and cough medicine. I am always so afraid when she gets sick, but she was doing some better today. She has developed more tremors but at her age it really isn’t bad. It is always in the back of my mind if mabey she has had little mini strokes, and it is pretty much impossible to tell. We just keep as close an eye as we can. Jerrys oldest brother has told Jerry that under no circumstances that he is to take their Mom out of her home. He told Jerry he is so afraid that she will start to fall and that Jerry will hurt himself trying to protect her. It hurt him; but it is true.
Little Aizen did good. I am so happy he loves his teacher.
Hope Heather and Marissa are doing better Adele. And you too. SO sorry your shoulder and back are hurting you.
Gail, how are your eyes doing? Has Brent had his ablation yet? Prayers for all.
Bye for now hope you all have a good evening. Hugs, Barb

      Hi Gail,
I had forgotten how small those freezers use to be. They could just barely get ice trays in there. Remember the metal trays with the long thing that you had to pull up to get the ice out. I hurt my hands on that thing a few times. Having to do all that defrosting. That was always a mess. I am glad that mom did that and never asked us to do it.
It is a shame that they have to make all those contests so difficult. I can remember when the parents made the costumes and none of them were so fancy that the kids could compete. I guess that I am getting to be an old crab.
Well the Cardinals are not doing to great but the Blues are doing great. I did not realize that they were playing against Adele’s team. It has been a long time since the Blues have gotten this far. We are hoping that they win the cup for once. They usually never get this far.
Green onions always seem to do really well. We get them starting at the begining of growing season and they will grow in the winter. I do not remember when they stop.
It is hard to believe that we are down to one guinea. We did have a lot of babies and now nothing. It is really a shame that we lost all of them but the one. It does seem odd without them running all over the yard.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Adele,
I hope that she is doing better after she went to the er. I really wonder what that is that is going around. It seems like if you start coughing you cannot get it to stop. It will be nice if there is something to give her to stop all of this and it is not pneumonia .It is sad that most people wait til they really get sick before going to the doctor.
That is funny that Marissa is planning her shower already. She has a little while before the shower takes place. Will you have to book the place to get it for the date you want.? We have not booked a room for a shower in a long time. I guess that it will be even longer. None of my grands are any where ready to get married or to have children.
Your team is playing our team. The blues are from St Louis. We did watch that game and I think our team won. I think that we were supposrd to play one more game but have not yet. Well at least we have not watched the game yet. Ron was watching baseball. We are really hoping that the Blues take home the cup.
I am glad that your arm and back are doing better. You have really had some bad times with your back and arm. Maybe this is going to be a start to you getting better.
I am so glad that Aizen did well when tested. He must have known how to do this and pass. Maybe JJ talked to him and told him what he had to do to pass.Older siblings are good about helping.
Ron said that the bird did lay her eggs. She is funny about us getting too close to her nest. She has gotten on the ground and flopped around to keep us away. It was really funny.

      Hey Missy Barbara
Well, here is what we ate last night……Gary had a bologna sandwich, with chips. Tillie and I had zucchini and eggs, on bread, – one of our favorite’s. No dessert. You should try the zucchini and eggs. You cute the zucchini in thin slices (I cooked 4 last night), fry them in about 3 tbsp of butter, until tender. They will reduce to a much smaller amount. Whisk up 6 eggs ( for the 4 zucchini’s), and add to zucchini, and cook until eggs are done. You can make a sandwich, or eat them plain. I put mine on one piece of bread, as I am trying to eliminate as many carbs as I can. Zucchini and eggs are an Italian thing. My Nonna did the same thing with red peppers and eggs, and potato and eggs. I like the zucchini the best with eggs.

I was describing those Pop Rocks….LOL I could not remember the name of them. Too funny.

We are all so glad Aizen liked the teacher. You have no idea!

Well, it is real ugly over here today. I up-graded Gary to an I phone, which Verizon offered for a great price- 5.00 a month. With his “paws” it has been ugly. he is learning, but you have to hear us yelling at each other. I keep saying….”keep your paws off the screen!” So far, he has gotten in modes I have not ever seen, and practically shut off his volume, so he is yelling….”I can’t hear anything”. I have fixed the volume twice so far…..LOL

So, tonight, we are having roasted Italian sausages, with onions and peppers. You just cut the peppers and onions into slices, and roast in the pan with the sausages whole- stir a couple of times, oven to 375, and done in 45 minutes. If you have a “convection roast” feature on your oven, they come out fabulous. If not, you may have to cook a little longer. this is another simple meal. I am going to boil everyone one potato too.

I hope I gave you a couple of simple solutions for dinner, as it does get tiring to do meals every night. We have had cereal for supper too….LOL
Hope you do not get any bad storms- we are getting thunderstorms today too.

Please read all the notes to Barbara for all the news of the day….LOL

I did not realize it was your team. How funny is that? Thank God for Gail, as now we both know. we have been watching the Bruins hockey games. Another game is tonight- they are back in Boston.

It is hot and humid here today. We are getting storms this afternoon. I had to put the air on, as i can’t stand the humidity.

I am glad Heather does not have pneumonia. She does have to use the 2 inhalers they prescribed to get rid of the cough, and be able to breathe. I hope she gets better fast, as she has no color at all in her face- she is as white as a ghost.

That is funny about the bird. Over here, they have been making their nests in the bird houses I put out, or under the rafters of the deck. when anyone goes out, the birds fly into the trees and squawk. If there is no bird foo din the feeders, the Robin follows Gary around the yard, and looks at him. I think that is very funny!

Hope you have a good day, and get to see the new birds.

Bright and sunny here today. Wish I could say our dispositions were the same. Jerry is being so ugly. Joey went with him yesterday to Lowe’s to pick up an AC thermostat to replace the one we have had for years in the house. But Jerry thinks the old one was doing ok but you know how they are when they up and decide they need something. Well anyway Joey spends two hours and then tells jerry he will come today to install it. Well Jerry calls him at 3 and at 5 he still isn’t here; so Jerry calls and tells him that he will find someone else to help him. It just hurts me when they both do this. Jerry really thinks that since Joey is right out back that he will be able to come whenever Jerry is ready. What a mess. And guess who gets caught right in the middle? I am so worried about Joey. He is finally getting his weight back a little; but he still has the occasional chest pain gastritis spells and this really worries me. The heart doctor told him after doing all the testing that his pain is caused from stress and wants him to see a phychologist. I really believe he has PTSD and then all this with Lisa. I can’t seem to help Jerry understand that his inpatience with him is not good for Joey especially right now. So please pray for our family. We just can’t seem to get it together. Sorry for all the sad story.
Adele, I want to definitely try your squash and peppers and sausage. Here is my crazy question. I am really not familiar with Italian sausages, name brands, how to cook; so if you can, will you let me know about this? Neal has prepared sausages in his crayfood ettophee (spelling?) when he would be doing this huge pot of food with shrimp, sausages, potatoes, corn, peppers all kinds of things. He knew how to prepare it but I didn’t . Just sounds so deliscious. I have done all kinds of vegetables on a baking sheet that I drizzled with olive oil and seasonings and baked. Tasted so yummy. Glad to know that Heather went to get some medicine. She was walking a thin line since she had gotten so sick. Little Aizens feet were so cute in the photo. Just love little ones.
DD you have some really beautiful Temptations pieces. I love mine. I have a fluted bowl in the Fall design that I use all year round. It is the perfect size for potato salad or fruit salad, slaw etc. Have you been hugging your friends little furry friend? That was such a sweet thing for him to think of. How hot does it get in your area during the summer? I bet not too bad. Mount Hood is beautiful. Love your pictures. Thanks for them all.
Better go for now and see if things have cooled down around here. Just makes me ill when feelings are hurt. Wish I could just wave a magic wand over and everyone would just be happy, I am so grateful for every single moment that I just cannot waste it being mad. Good wishes from me to all, Barb

      Hi Barbara,
I hope that Jerry’s mom is feeling better. Is Jerry really thinking about having his mom move in with you? I agree with his brother that would be too much for him and for you. Neither one of you could handle that right now. I hope that he does not try it.
Ron gets like that also. He wants things to be done right when he wants them done. He does not realize that not everyone is on his time schedule. Men are something else.
It is good Joey is gaining weight. Stress an really mess with your health. Are they giving him something to help the stress? I hope that they are because there is a lot of things out there that he can take for it. I will keep him in my prayers.
Not a whole lot going on here. We have been having a lot of storms here. I am hoping that they go away soon. I do not like storms at all they are so scary.

      Hi Adele,
Gary sounds like Ron.. Ron had an I phone like mine but he took it back because it did not work right. It was really funny because he does try to fix my phone for me and I have to stop him. I tell him that if he wanted to mess with a phone he should have kept his.
Your dinner sounded really good. I may have to try that. We have going out to eat a lot here lately so I have not been cooking. I really need to start cooking again and doing things like that. I am hungry for Jumblaya have not fixed it for awhile. I did misspell that wow my spelling is really getting bad. The zucchini and eggs that you made sounds really good.
I am so glad that Heather is not as sick as you thought. Has the bleeding stopped now? Heather has really been having her health problems. I hope that this will be the end of it.
We are not sure if the bird ever layed eggs or not. We have not seen the baby birds either. Unless she already hatched them and they are gone. We have not seen as much of her either. I hope that some animal did not come and get the eggs. We have a lot of that here.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Colleen,
I remember those metal trays. And then after that they came out with the plastic ones that you had to twist to get the cubes out.
Our grandkids have probably never seen a fridge without an automatic ice maker. How weird is that. Once they were here and the land line rang and they didn’t know what that was. lol
Thank goodness for the frostless freezers. I remember how I disliked defrosting a freezer.
I must say when our last fridge died I am so glad that we replaced the side by side with a freezer on the bottom model. Unless you have the space for a very wide model the side by sides make the refrigerator side very narrow. Jenny and I would complain that it was not wide enough for a pizza box. lol
I think we are to have sunny skies for a few days now. We are going to Piper’s softball game tonight as we haven’t seen the kids for weeks and they won’t be home tomorrow night. Jenny said on Tuesday Piper got three hits off the pitcher. In this league right now you get a chance at three throws from the pitcher who is a coach and if you miss then you get to hit the ball off the tee. So hitting off the pitcher at this stage is a pretty big deal.
Lachlan didn’t want to play ball this year so Jenny let him off and didn’t force him. It’s too bad that he doesn’t seem to like it that much. Jenny thinks his coach had entirely too many practices for the kids his age. Maybe he will play soccer in the fall. I know she likes to have the kids have some sort of outside activity in the summer to keep them busy-of course all that chasing around keeps her busy too. lol

      Hi Barbara,
Grocery shopping just wears me out any more. Between the planning what to get and the loading and unloading the cart and then the loading and unloading the car-and now Walmart has about two checkers and all these self check lines so they really want you to check all that stuff yourself and I just won’t! it’s okay if you have just a few items but i am not doing that for a whole cart load and then bagging it all myself-I am just to old for all this self service. Sometimes i wish I lived in Oregon or new Jersey so I wouldn’t have to pump my own gas. lol The older I get the more I miss that good old fashioned full service station. Check my oil please! lol They young people can’t even imagine that someone used to come out and pump your gas and wash your windows!
That is so cute that the boys thought Pawpaw’s canned orange juice was so fancy.
I hope Jerry’s Mom will be feeling better soon.
I also hope that Joey does see a psychologist and maybe gets a prescription too-as Colleen said there are so many meds to help with anxiety now. I have used them myself a few times over the years and they can be a great benefit.
My eyes are doing good-I have no recurring problems-knock wood. And just now after two years my hair is totally grown back. lol
Brent’s ablation is scheduled for the 19th. It’s so hard knowing he will be going through this on his own. I try not to worry and say he is a big boy now but I am his mother so I wish I could do more. The good thing is that I keep hearing and reading that once they fix this the heart arrhythmia goes away and you are as good as new so I am keeping my mind on that objective and trying not to worry about the actual procedure. I know they do this all the time-but just not on my kid. So if anyone wants to say some prayers-they will be more than welcome.

      Hi Adele,
I hope that Heather is feeling better today. So many respiratory viruses going around lately.
I wonder if you were thinking of Lick-Em-Aid-it came in like a Kool Aid package-i think it came with a stick to wet and put in the package to get the powder to cling to it and then you ate it off the stick-however we used to just wet our fingers and put them in there and lick the stuff off our fingers-and then your finger would be red or purple or green-whatever flavor you were eating-the kids have something similar now but it has a different name which of course i can’t remember right now.
I’ll bet Aizen will like school once he gets there. It will be fun to hear his stories. So JJ is a year older than Kendall as she will be in 6th grade next year. It’s hard to believe that she will be in junior high next year. Jenny better start preparing for all the hormonal ups and downs. I don’t envy her that.
We are waiting to hear back from the guy on the boat. I hope he buys it and we have that off our plate.
So yesterday we were scheduled to have the driveway sealed but they were supposed to call and confirm and they never did so we thought they would do it another day. So I go off in the morning to get my hair done and then I stopped for something to eat afterwards and I was trying to decide if I wanted to run to the grocery store for some stuff to stock up. I decided the groceries could wait for a few more days and boy am I glad that i did. Lo and behold I got home and the guys were in the driveway coating it-it’s a good thing I had the key to the front door with me otherwise i would have been stuck outside as i couldn’t go on the driveway to get in through the garage. I’m also glad I didn’t get groceries as I had to park on the street and would have had to carry groceries from the street to the house in 85 degree weather.
I have made the sausage and peppers on the stove top too. One of Brent’s favorite dinners is you brown Italian sausage and peppers and then you cut the sausage in chunks-you take cooked pasta usually use something like mostacholli (sp) add spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese mix together in casserole dish-top with parmesan and bake in oven until sausage is cooked through and cheese is melted.

      Hey Barbara
What is between fathers and their sons? Kind of like mothers and their daughters. Seriously?? They put way too much pressure on each other. I am with you. Joey is under too much stress right now, and his Dad’s disapproval will not help. Still, nothing you can do, as the toothpaste is out of the tube, as they say.
On the pother hand, Jerry has his bad back, and just cannot do what he used to do. That makes him impatient in asking for his son (who does live there) to help. So, Jerry thinks, this will just take him a minute to walk up here….why am I waiting so long?? You are n a Mexican stand off, as they say. there is no winning on this. One can see both sides, but still no help. I go through this with Gary, who does not like to ask for help, and when he does, gets frustrated with people’s work schedules, and coordinating everyone here to help. I am always telling him we have to be patient when we need help form the kids, or grands. A no win situation.
On to the sausages…..LOL You get the ones at the supermarket- usually packed in a package of 4. They are about 5 inches long. You want the ones marked “sweet Italian sausages”. Here is what I do:

Put 8 sausages in a big metal roasting pan.
Slice up one red, one yellow and one orange pepper- slices about 1/2 inch wide
Slice up 2 onions- also about 1/2 inch wide
mix them in the pan with the sausages, add some salt and pepper, and drizzle a small amount of olive oil (the veggies make a lot of juice, so limit the oil)
cook at 375, from 45 minutes to an hour
every 20 minutes, stir them, and get any juice out of the pan- I use a baster. (You get the juices after 40 minutes or so)
You want the juices out of the pan, so the veggies caramelize
I feel it is done when the sausages are nice and brown, and the veggies caramelized. Other people like the veggies less caramelized- your preference.

      Zucchini and eggs
4 zucchini, sliced thin- it will fill up the pan…..not to worry, as they cook down. Add some salt and pepper to taste. fry them in about 3 to 4 tbsp of butter
after the veggies are well cooked, add 6 whisked eggs, and cook until done.

Same way for peppers and eggs, or potato and eggs…..pre-cook the potatoes a little, not the peppers.

hope that helps, as these are fast summer recipes loaded with veggies. So, today, Tiilie will not have dinner as due to all the veggies I have fed her, she has been in the bathroom a lot….LOL Tillie LOVES her veggies, and always asks for more.

I hope your boys kiss and make up, so you do not worry about them.
Oh yes, I love The Aizen’s little feet. They will be little for not much longer…..LOL Ha has not snuggled up on me like that in a while. he is usually on Heather’s butt/thigh on the couch. He uses it for a pillow when they watch TV, and he snuggles on her…..LOL

Hope you have good weather for the weekend!!

      Hey Colleen
I did the recipes again for Barbara- check them out. They are so simple for summer.
the birds get big fast. I think it is only about 2 weeks before they leave the nest- not too sure. Hawks love bird eggs. I see little birds chasing Hawks around all the time over here.
Heather did stop bleeding. She spent the night here again last night. She has been doing that more frequently since she got that diagnosis. We like having her around. Plus, then I am sure she is eating well.
Oh yes, Mr Ron and Mr Gary are very similar….LOL
Have you seen the new show “In Between”? We watched it with Heather last night. Both is us like it- Gary fell asleep….LOL
Hope the weather is good for you this weekend.

      Hey Gailster
Well, I could not make that dish, as Gary would see and taste the cheese….LOL
Imagine, all our kids are in school now! I can’t believe JJ is going into the 7th grade next year.
jenny needs to get used to the “eye rolling”. JJ does a lot of eye rolling, an then there is a lot of….did you just roll your eyes at me? right after that. It is pretty funny, as i do a tremendous amount of eye rolling- always have, always will.
You know, I do remember those Cool Aid lick roll things. Heather lobed those. Speaking of her, she is better. She is coughing less, and no more bleeding. She spent the night last night, and was here most of the day. She went home to get ready for a meeting.
Holy crap! You were very lucky you got home, with no groceries. You just made it in time.
Hope the people buy the boat- we will still be adding a prayer for that need. Also for Brent- don’t forget to let us know how the ablation went. I bet you will be relieved when the heart one is all over. That kid has been dealing with so much. Enough is enough, for God’s sake.
So, my new bird bath arrived form the Q. I love it, accept is is very small. Even the bowl to fill for the water is small. I really need to read the specs! I still love the design- so Italian looking. It has cherubs under the bowl. Look it up you will love it.
Here is a funny for you. So, Heather gets up from the table, and says….”why is your cardinal glaring at me” I say…”oh, oh. Gail’s bird moved to New England.” LOL The cardinal was in a tree you could see from the window, and Heather was convinced he was staring at her- how funny is that! I get cardinals in the morning, and then in the evening.
I hope the weather is good for you this weekend. That is my hope for everyone. We need some sun.
Forgot to tell you……I ordered a set of ducks and bunnies from the Q for my garden- Martha Stewart ones. I figured they will last forever, and fill up the holes in the garden. (I hope)
Have a good night….watching the Bruins tonight.

      Hi Gail,
It is sad that the kids have missed out on so many things. They have never had to turn the dial on the tv to change to different stations. They would feel like they were being mistreated. lol It is funny that they have never had to deal with any of this stuff.
It will be fun to watch Piper play ball. I hope she has a couple of really good hits so you can see them. I know how you feel about not getting to see the kids. It is hard when you have been so close and saw them all the time. You will get use to it but it will be hard. At least Adam is good about letting the kids be with you if they want to be. Owen never can come his dad will not cooperate.
We are supposed to have nice weather next week. I am hoping that they are right. We have been getting so much rain. There have been some storms here but we have been lucky and not had any damage.
That was lucky you had your front door key. That would have been a mess carrying all those groceries into the house. How long will you it be before you can park in the drive? I hope not long.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Adele,
Well the Blues beat the Bruins tonight. They play in St Louis next. I hope that we win but if your team wins that will be okay also. I really hope we win. It has been awhile since we have won the world cup.
Both those meals sound really good. I am going to try both of them. I will wait for our zucchini to come in and then try it. I like to find new recipes to try with it we get so many. I have sausages on top of the stove but never in the oven. I will have to try that also.
I am so glad that Heather’s bleeding has stopped. Now if the cough would go away and she would start to feel a lot better. It is nice that she is staying with you. You can take care of her and like you said makes sure she eats. We have to make our kids eat no matter what age they are. I guess that they all want their mom’s.
You do have to watch measurements when your order from the q. Things are smaller when you get them in the mail. I wish that it was easier to judge the size of things that they sell. I have that problem with some of the Christmas things that I have ordered. They are either a lot bigger or smaller. So I am a really bad judge.
It is so nice that Aizen likes his teacher. That is half the battle right there. He is a smart child and will do well in school He will really like it if he likes his teacher.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Ladies,
It hasn’t been a good day for me. I went to take a nap & I started crying & couldn’t stop. I do this off & on during the week. I went to the psychologist yesterday. I’d written a bunch of things down & showed it to him. It was titled “No More…. “. I put down all the things that I won’t be doing anymore, & she won’t be doing anymore. Ending with “no more anything”….Just emptiness, loneliness, & pain.” He gave me some names of pet loss support groups in the area. I’ll give em a call & check it out. Can’t hurt.
I hope everyone is feeling better now. No more aches & pains, colds, coughs.
I’ll be watching the Golden State/Toronto Raptors game tonight. I heard one of the GS players say except for the state of Ca. the rest of the country is hoping Toronto will knock us off the pedestal.. all I have to say is TRUE!!! I’m rooting for the Raptors.
We’ve got rain today, even SNOW in the mts. Then in 2 days we’ll be heading into the upper 80s, even 90s next week!!!! Weather whiplash!!
Well, I think I’ve bored you enough for today.
      Have a great weekend!

      Hi DD,
It is hard not to cry when we miss a pet.. It is good to cry it out instead of holding it all in. This will pass in time. It may be a good idea to get in touch with that group. They will all be in the same situation and will understand. The psychologist that you are going to sounds like a really good one. I hope that he or she really helps thru it.
Is this a hockey team? Our hockey team is doing pretty good they are playing against Adele’s team the bruins. We will see who wins. It has been a long time since our team has won the cup.
The pictures that you posted really bring back memories. My mom use to have a clothes pin bag like that when we were kids. I can remember using it when we hung the clothes out on the line.. The old time pictures just really bring back memories. Always good ones. That puppy is so little it can’t be that old.
Well that is about all from here. Have a good night.

      Hi Ladies,
Well, I think I got FB back to normal. I changed my password a couple of times, so I’ll be lucky if I remember it. I was able to track down all my pics, & videos. I was upset I couldn’t find the vids I saved from my newsfeed. I’m not sure if Messenger is fixed but at least I have my friends back. It told me to “invite” my friends or request my friends that’s why you all got requests from me again. Sorry.
Oh Colleen, the game I was referring to is the finals of the NBA basketball season. IT’s pretty late for them to be finishing up. They usually are over by this time.
I did laundry today. The laundry room is downstairs so I got to see & hold 2 kitties today. One was the cat that guy offered to let me ‘borrow’ her if I wanted to. He was leaving to go downstairs so he let me in his apt, & handed his cat to me. She’s HUGE!!! A total opposite of Jewell. She must weigh 10-15 lbs if not more. she’s a tabby, has no name, & wasn’t too thrilled I was holding her. She jumped down & started rolling around, wanting belly rubs. She has a big belly to rub too! LOL. The guy across the hall also has a kitty & she’s small like Jewell, but is black. He let me hold her too. And I broke down in tears as I held her.
My neighbor down the hall saw me outside yesterday, & he stopped me to offer his condolences about Jewell. He said he didn’t know if I believe in prayer & said I was in his over this.
Some people are of the opinion I should get another kitty right away. I’m conflicted about it. In some ways I see their point, but I’d feel I would be disrespecting Jewell, getting one this soon. I know it’s up to me.
Well, today was the Grand Floral Parade wrapping up the Rose festival for this yr. The ships will be leaving Monday AM tying up the bridges during the am commute. Glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
Well, I’ll sign off for now.
      Have a great Sunday.

      Hi DD,
There are so many different sports going right now. They use to have a season and when that was over it was over. Now all the sports over lap into the next season.
That was so nice that they let you hold their cats. It was okay to cry . You should get a new cat when you feel that it is the right time for you. No one can tell you. Just do it at your own speed. One day you will want a cat and you will find just the right one. I think Jewel would be happy for you if you found another kitty so you would have company. Jewel was your buddy.
The rose parade sounds like a big deal there. Can you see the parade from your window? I hope that you can. It would be interesting the boats. It is sad that it blocks the morning traffic. They should probably just let people come in late on that day.
Well that is about all from here. Thanks for the pictures that you posted they sure bring memories. Hve a great night.

      Well, Missy Colleen…….
I was so depressed, I could not even come on and write…..your Blues beat the crap out of our Bruins……LOL Just kidding!
i think everyone wants the Blues to win, because they have not won in decades. Gary thinks the referees are pushing it that way,a s they have not done any penalties for the Blues when they knock our guys out. I did hear they issued a game penalty for one guy who was out of control. hockey is pretty violent. I do not watch it, as I am not a sports person. I just watch when we are in the playoffs.
Heather was here yesterday, with Steph and the boys. That was the first time I didn’t hear her cough, so that was good. Nobody went in the pool, because it was too chilly. they did have fun in the yard, and were trying to find a chipmunk, and baby bunny, who escaped their grasps….LOL
Today, Marissa and Enzo are coming with Luna, so she can go in the pool. Too funny! Luna does not care if it is chilly.
I am attaching a pic of the bird bath. ( and a pic of the crock pot beef dinner, and a bird) It is really pretty, just a little smaller than I would like. I am still waiting for the 2 ducks and bunnies from Martha Stewart to arrive. I hate that they take so along to deliver some items.
Everyone was here last night until 9:00. I did not get into the recliner until near 10:00. We recorded the Hallmark movie, so we watched it last night.
I hope I can get a good pic of Luna in the pool, with my new phone…..
      Hope your day is good!!

      Our sweetest friend, DD…..
You do not now, or ever bore us. We all love you to pieces, and pray you get through this mourning of your beautiful and sweet kitty. It takes time. Especially when your pet was as loved as Jewell was. I guess I am hoping you will get another kitty, as there is such a hole in your heart. I know another kitty cannot replace her, but the cute little fuzzy will make you smile again. Please think about it.
On the other hand, I think a support group is good for every ill we have. It helps to have people who are going through the same thing to talk to.
I hope the Facebook issue is all cleared up. My friend was recently hacked on there too. She posts a lot of the cute sayings, and videos, and I wonder if they are the cause of the infections. Since she was hacked, I have opened and looked at less of them.
I am watching ITKWD. I hope he has something interesting today, that we have not seen yet.
I remember the Sunbeam Bread girl…..LOL Also love the Patriotic pics.
i really hope you have a better day today. I hope the sun is shining to make you feel better too.
      Love you!

      Hey again, Missy DD!
I think it is real nice that you have such kind neighbors, who let you play with their kitties. The nice man who keeps you in his prayers sounds like a sweetheart.
I do not think you will be disrespecting the memory of Jewell. Jewell know how much you loved her, and she would not like to see you so sad. She would want you to find another kitty to snuggle in her place.
Did you go down to see the parade? I am amazed at all the different events available in all the states. Every state is so different form the next.
I hope your day is a little brighter today, and that you can find one thing to smile about.

Here is my contribution to your smile:

So, we get to bed last night, and are pretty tired from all the company, and watching the re-run of SNL.
I am in bed first, and doing my nightly exercises on my back, when, all to my little self did appear, THE HUSBAND with big fingers who who creates a disaster wherever he puts them!
All of a sudden, my bed is on vibrate mode, THE HUSBAND drops my remote, and the remote falls apart. Ok, I say, this will take a while. he tires to get the remote back together, and it still does not work. He yells that he hates this fing bed, the remote doe snot show how the batteries go, and he is done with all of it.
Mind you, I am still vibrating. I suggest he take his apart, and see how they go together. he takes it apart, and now his bed starts to rise to the ceiling. So, I am still vibrating, and can’t see him, because his side is way up in the air. OK, I say, this is going to take some time. Still waiting to finish my sit-ups. i am beginning to think I may be vibrating all night, and Gary will spend the night in his recliner.
Finally, he gets one remote back together, and I am able to put his bed all the way down. My remote is back together, and I can stop the vibration. Hallelujah! Success has been reached! Gary swears more, and gets into bed grumbling all the way, and I say….”Listen paws, you need to stop touching things before we make the evening news”.
Another night in the whack job household……

      Love you, DD!

      Hi Everyone,
DD, I keep saying all the sports seasons have been extended too long now with the amount of games they play. They should not be playing hockey and basketball in June and baseball in November.
I agree with everyone else in that you should get a new kitty when you feel ready. However, I don’t think getting one soon would disrespect Jewell. If she could speak I know she would not want you to be hurting in the way that you are and she would encourage you to find another animal to love and help fill the hole in your heart. If you would adopt from a rescue, you would be saving the life of another kitty and I know Jewell would like that and it would be a tribute to her. I hope the support group will bring you some peace.
Colleen, yes I had forgotten that our kids and grands never had to actually get out of their chair to change the TV channel. Also they would not remember just having four channels either. So many things that were common when we were growing up are now considered antiques-including us! lol
Piper didn’t get any hits off the pitcher but she did get some good hits off the tee. She is actually a pretty fast runner and could probably run even faster if she wasn’t running with one hand on her head holding her batting helmet on. lol The coaches pitch to the girls first and if they can’t hit in two tries then they hit off the tee. The coach-who is a girl Jenny and Brent went to high school with hit Isla (Piper’s cousin) on her first pitch. i bet that made her feel bad. Fortunately her Mom and Jenny help with the team so her mother then pitched to her and she was fine. What a difference a year makes-last year she wouldn’t have gone back onto the field after that.
We only had to wait 24 hours before we could drive on the driveway again. however they didn’t do a very good job of patching the cracks but I told Greg that’s probably why they were so cheap.
Adele, somehow I missed that Gary didn’t eat cheese. How can you not like cheese? He’s like feeding my kids when they were little. So I guess no pizza for him-he doesn’t know what he’s missing.
I’m glad Heather is feeling better.
I loved your story about the vibrating-positioning changing bed! lol You guys are like the Keystone Cops. lol That reminds me of the scene from one of the National Lampoon Vacation movies where Ellen and Clark are in the vibrating bed in the motel and end up on the floor or something. Remember those beds? I wish our bed had that feature-I think it would help me get to sleep. I don’t know that sleep number beds have that feature.
So we had a nice day on Saturday to go to those two parties. We just stopped off for a half hour at Enya’s graduation party. Most of the time we visited with Adam. I guess Enya has decided not to go to pastry school but to go to cosmetology school for makeup and skin care. I knew she was not interested in college. She is going out to Washington to stay with Adam’s sister and go to school there. Her sister Gabby is also out there to go to college. So Adam’s sister has inherited two big girls-I wonder if they will eventually just stay out there.
We also went to the house warming of one of Greg’s golfing buddies. It was a very nice party-lots of good food and they put up a nice outdoor tent to sit under and eat. Their new house is in a very pretty area too. They used to have a huge house because the wife’s two brothers who are mentally handicapped lived with them at one time so they had two separate apartments for each of them. I think the house was like 5000 square feet with lots of property. So they wanted to down size a bit and the new place is lovely. I got to catch up with two of the wives of Greg’s golfing friends that i hadn’t seen for awhile so I enjoyed that. They had karaoke and their daughters-one of who is a friend of Jenny’s were having a great time with that. Of course Greg wouldn’t sing even though his friends asked him too. The guy doesn’t have a vain bone in his body-if I could sing good you’d never get the microphone away from me-they would have to give me the hook! lol
He has golf tonight so it’s another no cook day. Hooray! boy am I getting lazy in my old age. lol

      Hey Gailster!
I bet is was adorable watching the Piper. The little ones are so cute, and all they do is amusing to us. The sun rises and sets on all of them, as I say. I can just picture her with her hand on her helmet. How cute!
It was a quieter day here. I got a little needlepoint done. I was glued to the TV, waiting to hear of any news on The Big Papi. he will be back up here by 10:00 pm. I am hoping to God he will be able to recover from all his injuries. Who does that? Papi is such a good man. He is loved by everyone. I feel like a member of my family has been harmed. I like him as much as I like The Gronk…maybe even a little more. I have a bad feeling about his injuries- damage to the intestines and colon is so risky for a major infection. He did not do anything to deserve to be a target for any creep.
On the positive side….we won the game last night. Poor Colleen. It is a battle to the end on Wednesday night.
That is too bad about your driveway. It is just awful when the work we pay for, is not done to any standard at all. Nobody has any pride in their work anymore.
Don’t feel ad….I only made hot dogs for dinner, with chips….LOL We are too glued to the TV up here. You know what bothered me about this? Even President Obama had a kind word for The Big Papi. Not one sentence or tweet for you know who. I bet he will tweet about the helicopter near his place.
that was awful too. that pilot did a great landing, with no damage to anyone in the building, but gave his life for it. Such a shame. I bet every person in that building was scared to death it was another 911 like incident.
It is going to pour here any minute. It got dark, and it is ready to go. It was nice to see the sun for a few days.
Oh yes, we were quite amusing in the “bed incident” the other night. You have to see him with his new phone. He has gotten to modes I have never seen, by his continual pressing of the buttons, when he can’t do something. I have had to fix the phone a few times, and had to call Verizon twice. At least now, he can answer the phone, make a call, and sometimes locate his contacts. God help me with “Mr Fingers”, or Paws, as I call him.
You guys had a great weekend. So, did Greg sleep late today?? You pooped him out. Glad you had so much fun.
      Have a good night…no AGT tonight…..stinks!

      Hi Adele,
I wrote to you yesterday and the whole thing disappeared. So I gave up and thought that I would try today. It seems to happen a lot on this site and I do not understand why. Oh well here I go again.
Very funny. You are depressed that the Bruins lost well just wait you will be depressed after this next game when we are holding up the cup. We will all be smiling here while all of you are crying.
That roast looks really good. I am ready to come to your house for dinner. I really like your birdbath. It looks pretty good sized to me. They always look so good in the yard.
Sounds like the kids were having fun chasing the baby bunny and the chipmunk. I wonder what they would have done if they caught them. The boys are so cute. Did Luna get into the pool? He probably had fun swimming.
I think that is a riot about you and Gary in your new bed. I can picture you there vibrating and Gary heading for the ceiling. I bet he was using words that he usually does not use in front of you .lol I bet you got a laugh out of that afterward. That sounds like an interesting bed.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night night.

      Hi Gail,
That was nice that Piper did get a hit no matter where it came from. She sounds like she is having a good time playing ball. She may turn to be the best ball player in the family.
That is not too long to wait for the drive to drive. It is a shame that they did not do a good job. I hope it is not bad enough that they will have to redo it. That would be really aggravating. We have a rock drive so it is easier to take care of.
Sounds like you had a really nice day on Saturday. It just does not seem like Enya should be old enough to be graduating. It is nice that she has decided what she wants to do. She will be really good at that. I hope the girls like living in Washington. I am glad that you had a good time at the other party. It is always fun to see people that you have not seen for awhile. It is a shame that Greg would not sing. Everyone would have enjoyed hearing him.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Colleen,
Piper and Isla both looked so cute as Jenny had done both their hair with french braids and Isla is really tiny and they had their little uniforms on.
They did an okay job sealing the driveway but they just did not fill the cracks very well but they also did not cost a lot so next time maybe we will just hire a different company. It will be good enough for now.
I am not sure why both girls decided to go to Washington. Maybe just to do something different. I was kind of surprised that Enya was going since she has a boyfriend here. I wonder how she feels about leaving him. I know Gabby had a boyfriend too but he broke up with her after they graduated as he was leaving to go to college. Those are the things that seem to happen. I don’t even actually know where their Mom is living now-she used to live with Adam’s parents too but there was no longer room for her after Adam’s parents moved out to their farm house-so I don’t know where she went. Maybe the girls feel kind of displaced since their grandparents moved to the farm and their Dad is in a small apartment and i don’t know what their Mom’s living arrangements are. I know Adam’s sister has a huge house out in Washington so maybe that’s why they went there.
So far our summer has been pretty nice-not too hot and i am enjoying the temps in the 70’s. I hear it’s very hot out west.

      Hi Adele,
I hope Big Papi will recover from his injuries. It does make you wonder why in the world someone shot him-unless he was not the specific target and someone was just shooting randomly. I hear they have surveillance video so hopefully they will catch the person and figure out what happened. I’m glad they brought him back to the states for further medical care. As to the tweets-who knows what you know who is thinking. At this point I just try to ignore him as much as I can so as to keep my level of frustration low.
There seem to be a lot of questions as to why that helicopter was flying where he was in the first place. But it must have been scary for the people thinking it might be another 911 like attack. I’m sorry that the pilot lost his life but thank goodness no one else was hurt.
Boy the Stanley Cup is going to go right down to the wire. it does make it exciting that way but if it’s my team I always hope they will take the win early on so as to save me all that angst. lol
It really is amazing all the things a phone can do now. I think I barely scratch the surface with the things mine can do. I just realized the other day that i can send a text as a voice recording.
You are a day early-AGT is on tonight. I keep on thinking it should be on Mondays too but it’s on Tuesday. So far I like the two new judges. At least they do not seem to be arguing with Simon as much as Mel B did-which is actually kind of nice-sometimes the judges took the attention away from the contestants. I personally did not think the guy that Howie gave the golden buzzer to was that good. We will see.

LOL LOL LOL We are smiling again, and you are not, for now. Only one of s will be smiling tomorrow….LOL
Have you and Ron been watching the games? We all have been watching here. Everyone in the state is glued to the TV.
I posted the bed disaster on Facebook, and everyone has been laughing. We are a funny couple, and get into some very unusual positions, in and out of bed….LOL
I am so upset about our Big Papi. Who does that??? I am always saying”what is wrong with people”, every time I see the news. Who could do such a thing, to such a nice man? He does so much for kids in the US, and the Dominican. They did a second surgery last night, and they are saying he is in the ICU, and comfortable. I am praying he will recover, with no ill affects. The entire state of Mass. is upset. Everyone is talking about it, all day long.
I would love you to come for dinner….before or after the hockey game….LOL
Luna was in the pool, a few times on Saturday. Ill attach a pic.
I hope you don’t have anymore trouble with things disappearing on here- that is awful!
hope you have a good night!

      Hey Gailster!
I feel the same way. i didn’t think the guy was that great either. I think they get caught up in the disability, and story, and forget it is a talent contest. I wonder if they should have a separate contest for those with disabilities. It would give those that take so much more effort to be on stage, a fair and level playing field. I am amazed at how some people fight all the odds, and still have the ability to be on stage. It is awe inspiring. But, it needs it’s own contest, as it is not fair to the people who have no disability or heart wrenching story. After all, it is the talent, not the story, and you feel so much for those who fought so hard to get there, against all the odds.
So, at least you can pick a team to support tomorrow night…..LOL Me and Colleen are for different teams, and that is so funny. I think the owner of the St Louis Blues jinxed himself by saying they were having a parade because they won. We shall see who is the winner tomorrow night. Colleen or I will be crying….LOL
I hope tonight’s AGT will be good. I saw the previews and it looks like something scary or dangerous will be on- I hate those! I get to anxious watching them.
So, the ducks arrived. Heather and I decided we would do a duck display like the one in the Boston Commons, so I ordered a few more smaller ducks. We will have our own ducking story going on in the yard….LOL
Hope you have a good night.

      Hi Gail
That was nice of Jenny to do both girls hair. I bet they looked really cute and when they are young especially in their uniforms. Sounds like they both like playing ball.
Maybe Enya and her boyfriend felt the same way about staying together as the other girl and her boyfriend felt. That happens with a lot of kids in their senior year. They are growing up and wanting to get on with their lives. I am a little jealous there they are just starting out and have there whole lives in front of them. To be young and able to start over again. I do not think that I would change a lot because I love Ron and would marry him all over again.
This has to be really hard on the girls. It just seems like their lives changed so fast. It will be nice for them at their aunts. I hope they do well at the schools that they choose to go to.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Adele,
Well i have been going crazy ordering from quacker. I ordered 4 tops and then bought a pair of ryka sandals. They had a new top and I am not sure that it has been shown on the show yet. The shirt I bought has an eagle on it and it is really cute. One style has the Liberty Bell and I cannot remember what the third one had on it. They are really cute I found them under the new items.
I cannot stand to watch the game. It always makes me nervous to watch. Just about every time I watch a game it goes into over time. So we will be celebrating when the Blues win and you will all be crying .lol Do not worry I will send you some Kleenex to dry your tears with. I am going to stop because you are really get even if the Blues lose.
Who is Big Papi? I have no idea what happened to him. I am behind the times that is for sure. I hope he goes thru the surgery okay. From what you have said about him he sounds like a nice man
It looks like Luna is having a good time in the pool. It is a shame that the kids could not get in there with Luna. They could all have had a really good time. I am looking for a pool again. I want to be able to swim and help my joints.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night

Hope everyone is having a good evening and that you Adele have your safety straps attached to the ceiling before you and Paws retire for the evening lol I tell you that was a much needed laugh you gave me and I read it to Jerry and asked “does this sound familiar?” He just gave me that look ha ha I think all of us have a similiar story to tell. I love to be able to laugh. It makes me feel better. I had my nights mixed up too on AGT. I have stopped watching The Voice. Can’t even say way. I am watching a series on I think Netflix called Downton Abbey. I love it. Have any of you all seen it?
I am SO out of the cooking phase right now. It is just too hot here to turn on an oven and I can’t seem to remember to get everything together for a simple crock pot meal. I am definitely going to try your peppers and veggies recipe though Adele. It sounds just yummy. I sent it on to Neal too; since I know he does the cooking for his family and he used to grill sausages that he would have shipped in from Louisiana. He would also do low country boils with the sausages and corn on the cob, potatoes and some other things I can’t remember, all in a huge pot on the patio and would invite lots of young people over. They spead out newspapers on the patio table and dumped everything in the center and went to eating. Oh, yes, I forgot it had lots of crawfish in there too! Main ingredient I think. lol I miss the noise and comings and goings of all the young ones. We talked to Neal for a minute today on his way home from work. He is doing well at the new airport. He has to pick up another certification and then will be sent back to Oklahoma City for two weeks of training there to obtain another certification. He hasn’t really had much of a chance to explore their new surroundings yet. Sarah is very disappointed. She was making such a high salary in California, and they do not pay nearly as much there. But she also doesn’t want to work in a hospital setting, and that makes a big difference. I tried to encourage Neal that the cost of living is so different, but of course since being around Ashville is a resort and their rent is expensive. We told him we would love to come visit as soon as they have had a chance to settle in and to let us know when they are ready for a little company, but I just didn’t feel he was “in the mood” to talk much about it tonight. He had ordered some take out while talking with us; so I know what dinner was tonight. I am torn between just going on and staying in a B&B and visiting and not wanting to rush them into having more visitors. Oh what I would give to know what is the right thing to do.
Jerrys Lazy Boy recliner has broken; so it is sitting in the middle of our family room upside down. We have had it about 4 years and it is the one chair that he is most comfortable in. I am all for just getting a new one; but he is insistent that he can repair it. I know he can, but just don’t want him to hurt his back more bending to fix it. I was really shocked to see pressed wood used all under the chair. It was a rather expensive leather big chair; and he said that it should have been made with solid wood for the bolts to be attached to. I am just so grateful that it didn’t fall apart with him in it. He does flop when he sits down, and I hope we can get it repaired soon. If not; I know what he will be getting for Fathers Day.
Better close for now. I broke down and ordered another plant Gail from the Q. I had sworn never again, but I got a small butterfly bush that is patio size and you plant in a container. So far; so good, but everything I have tried in the past just didn’t make it. And sometimes they sent me things that were not what I had ordered or dry plants with the leaves falling off. ha haTake care everyone. DD, you decide when you want another little furry friend. There are so many out there that need a loving fur mama to love. Goodnight all, Barbara

      Hey Colleen
OMG, I laughed so hard when you said you would send me kleenex. That was really funny!!
So, last night I told Gary a simple supper, because I did not want a big clean- up so we will be in the living room early for dinner. he laughs, and tells me the game is tomorrow (tonight). So, I guess we have sandwiches twice in a row….LOL
Big Papi is David Ortiz, a retired and very popular Red Sox player. he is the one who said “This is our fing city” at the first game after the Marathon Bombing. It was unexpected, and not bleeped at the beginning of the game. He added more, but everyone only remembers that….LOL He ended with his arm way up in the air, and yelled “Boston Strong!” He does a tremendous amount for kids, here and in the Dominican republic. He is a good man.
The water has been too cold for the kids, but, not for crazy Luna!
I will try to google those tops. I love american Eagles! They are such beautiful birds.
I will be thinking of you tonight. Soooooo, what are you serving for hockey game dinner????
Love you Colleen…even though we are on opposite sides…..LOL

      Missy Barbara….
Make Jerry move away from the recliner stat……the mechanisms in Lazy Boy chairs are guaranteed for life. Call them, asap!!
As yours is a huge leather one, I wonder if it is the same one I have. i got mine at least 10 years ago. It has a high back, and tufting. Let me know what happens.
I think it sounds like you son may be overwhelmed with the move, and his wife starting a new job for a lot less money, etc, etc. etc. I would wait a month before going. Or, you can say, we are coming to help with caring for Colin, so you can get all your things settled, and arranged the way you want them. Maybe they will jump on the offer of child care, so they can just do what needs to be done, a lot quicker. You can never tell what will work, or not.
Our husbands are all alike. I think it is our ages, and the new technology that is thrown our way, every day. Even making a cup of coffee is complicated with our Keurig coffee makers.
You have certainly getting a lot of heat down there. It is so chilly up here, nobody has been in the pool yet. It is chilly again today, and the pool water is not heating up. We are having a very strange season up here. Our kids are out of school tomorrow, and it will rain tomorrow. So, even though they had planned to come aver after school is out, they will not be in the pool tomorrow.
Miss Tillie has her days and nights mixed up again. She has been sleeping very late, and not coming up for dunner, because she is having breakfast at 3:00 pm. I have been trying to get her up earlier, and so it continues…. I hate it when she gets in this mode. It takes time to get her back on schedule.
Marissa goes for an ultrasound tomorrow. Her first actual baby doctor appointment is Friday. We are all excited.
Hope you have a good day, and it is a little cooler!!

      Hi Ladies,
Well, did you hear me last night? I was sooooooooooo mad I could’ve chewed nails!! I wrote out a post with pics & sent it. Or so I thought. It disappeared & had to sign back in!! I shut down for the night after that.

So I’m back, & we’re in the middle of a record breaking heatwave. It was 95 yesterday & is in the 90s at noon today. My poor little AC can’t keep up with the heat. It’s supposed to cool off tomorrow. That’s the one good thing, we don’t have days or weeks of blistering hot days. IT’s coming up from Ca. so the humidity is like 20-30% or less when it gets this hot.
If the apt gets too hot I can go down to the community room where they have built in AC & is down right chilly. And they said there’d be bottled water available. I’ve been eating & snacking of cold chicken, mac. salad, anything cold. Definitely NOT cooking, not even microwaving.
As hot as it is the rivers & streams aren’t warm yet. They’re warning people to be careful not to go out too far as the currents are still running fast & the water is still ice cold. We get a lot of drownings this time of yr because people think the water is warmer than it really is & when they hit the cold water it takes their breath away, literally. We’re not Fl. or the Gulf of Mexico bathtub warm.
I haven’t checked into Leeloo yet. I just haven’t been able to muster up the courage to bring in a new kitty. I know it’s coming up on a month since I lost Jewell, but I can still feel her here. Does that make sense? I see her sitting on the rug in front of me or coming in from the bedroom. It’s just too raw yet. I want to thank all of you for your support in all of this. It means a lot to me.

Adele, I wasn’t sure who Big Papi was until I heard he was a former Red Sox player. I’m sorry he was shot. I hope they caught the perp who did it. Did they say what the motive was for it? Who does that?
I was hoping the Raptors would beat Golden State & it’d be over with. Pro football starts in Aug, & baseball won’t even be in the playoffs yet for the World Series!! Waaay too much over lapping.
I went to a graduation/birthday party with Diane Sunday afternoon. I hadn’t seen the families in yrs & some of the kids I’d never met before. The oldest boy graduated high school last Sat. & the first time I saw him he was less than 6 months old. It was like getting reacquainted with them. I had a really good time. I took care of Diane & Joane’s mother Arline for over 6 yrs. It was Joane’s grandkids’ birthdays, so they combined the 2 occasions.
Well, I think that’s all for now.
      take care

I am so happy you got to go to the graduation, and back in touch with your old friends. I hate the thought of you being alone and sad.
I get that you are not ready for a new kitty just yet. Of course you see her everywhere. You miss her terribly.
You and colleen have been having an awful time with this site. I get that every once in a while, bit nowhere like you two do.
      Love the pics of Jewell.
They have caught 5 people , including the shooter of big Papi. he has had 2 surgeries so far- one in the Dominican, and one here at Mass. General Hospital. They said it was a hit.
you have all the heat, and we have all the cool!! We are getting a lot of rain again tomorrow.
We are getting ready to watch the game tonight. Our take out will e here in a minute…..let the best Quacker’s team win…..LOL LOL LOL
      have a good night!

We have been chilly it was in the 40’s this morning but warmed to the low 70’s but I am glad when we see sunshine. It is to rain & be cool tomorrow (60’s) That’s all I got.

      Hi Adele,
I just want to let you know that your kleenex are on their way. I just hope that you do not cry too much before they get there. lol It was so cool to watch the Blues with the cup. They were so excited to win. I think they said that it has been 52 years. So it was about time that they won. Sorry it had to be against your team.
I think that worked out pretty good. You got to order out two nights in a row. I am always all for that. We went out to eat with the girls. My oldest daughter will not be able to be here so they took him out tonight. They took him to his favorite Mexican restaurant. We got back in plenty of time to watch the game. She will not be able to be here for Father’s day. On Father’s day I am making Jambalaya. So Ron will enjoy that. So he will have two nights of his favorite food.
That is really sad that he got shot. Sounds like he is a really good man. I hope that he pulls thru his surgery. Do they know why they shot him? I hope they catch the person that did that.
Love you too. It was a fun rivalry.

      Hi Colleen,
Congratulations on the Blues win of the cup!!! I bet all of St. Louis is partying tonight. Poor Adele, her Bruins lost. Well they can’t have everything.
I posted earlier so that’s all I have for now.
      Congratulations again!!

      Barbara,
I have always wanted to see Downton Abby-I do have some DVD’s but haven’t watched them yet. There’s just so much that i want to watch and read.
My Dad used to love to do crawfish boils when they lived in Louisiana.
I personally would not go visit Neal and Sarah quite yet. It sounds like they are still trying to settle in and find their footing. Plus when you do go maybe you should stay in a motel or B and B rather than staying with them. I find that when visiting it’s sometimes best to give the couple a bit of space-especially since you don’t feel a closeness with Sarah. You might be glad of the privacy.
I am not surprised to see pressed wood inside the chair. It seems like nothing is made to last anymore. I hope you can get it fixed under the warranty.
You are brave trying another plant. None of the Q plants ever grew for me either. I have totally given up on them. Plus Greg would complain that he could get the same stuff for cheaper so I just gave up. lol

      Hi Sue,
You are getting our weather from yesterday. It was rainy and about 55. As I said I don’t mind the cooler temps as long as it’s not raining.
      Did you feel the earthquake?
The only time I ever felt one was when i was in college in central Illinois. I lived on the 16th floor of the dormitory and I was still in bed and I felt the room move and heard the hangers in the closet jangling together. At first i thought someone was playing a joke on me and when I figured out no one was there boy did I jump out of bed fast and go and find everyone else to figure out what was going on. All I can say is after that I am glad I don’t live in California where earthquakes are more frequent.

      Hi DD,
I hate when you lose a whole posting. One time I went to post-the post disappeared and it also signed me out all at the same time and when I came back on Adele had posted just fine at the exact same time. I just figured she jinxed me. lol
It makes total sense to me that you still feel Jewell around. I had the same experience with every one of my animals-especially these last dogs.
It’s nice that you got out this weekend to the parties. It is definitely graduation party season. I went to one last weekend too.
I hope the heat will break and you can cool down.
I was just reading on the Q site that a lot of homes and apartments in Washington state don’t have AC-is the same true of Oregon?
It seems hard to believe that we lived without AC until we built this house twenty years ago. Now I couldn’t be without.

      Hi Colleen,
Congrats to the Blues! I hope Adele and Gary will receive their kleenex soon. lol
I think those shirts had an American eagle, Liberty bell and maybe the Statue of Liberty not quite sure if i am remembering them right. I think I saw them in an email.
I watched the end of Jill’s last show after the game last night-I just watched the end of the game as i wanted to see who won.
Here’s something I don’t understand on the news they say both it’s been 52 years for the team to win a trophy and it’s also the first time-so did the team just start 52 years ago-I’m not quite clear.
I think Piper has another game tonight and then they are off to Disney tomorrow and we will be dog sitting Callie and Luke. I hope Luke can learn not to be afraid of Greg.

      Hi Adele,
You must have known that i would be for the Blues as we Midwesterners must stick together. I have been to Saint Louis-but I have never been to Boston.
It’s just a matter of geography. Plus it would not be fair for Boston to have three of the four major sports championships-of course if Chicago had all four I would make an exception. lol
Now I heard that the shooting of Big Papi was a hit-what in the world for? Lots of weird things happening in the Dominican Republic lately-people dying at resorts. I don’t think it’s the safest place to travel to begin with.
The guy that Howie gave the golden buzzer to did not have a disability-I think he was a college student who rapped and sang.
I don’t really think there should be a separate category for people with disabilities-if they have the talent they should get on the show. However, I wish they wouldn’t play up the sad back stories of people. Lots of people have troubles and that shouldn’t be a part of the talent equation.
Speaking on this subject did you see the first woman who won a Tony award who was in a wheelchair. I was so happy for her as she is a very talented young woman. I had seen her when she was on a show called The Glee project where people competed for a spot on the show Glee and i thought she was a talented singer and actress back then. I was so excited to see her on the Tony’s appearing in Oklahoma.
You will have to take pictures of your ducks when you get them all set up. Are the ducks in Boston from the Make Way For Ducklings children’s book?

I forgot to say I envy them having their lives in front of them too. I wouldn’t mind doing it over knowing what I know now. i would still marry Greg too but there would be some other people and situations that I would avoid. Plus the main thing is I would go to college and pick the major that I wanted-not the one my mother wanted knowing there would be many more opportunities for women in all fields in the future.

I wanted to ask you all about your license plates on your cars. In Illinois we renew them every year and don’t get a new plate but a new sticker to put on the plate with the currant year. I wondered how your plates work and what it costs per year in your states. Right now the renewal costs 101 dollars and they just passed a fifty dollar increase. How can they do that-that’s a fifty percent increase. What a greedy state! They are driving people to leave in droves. So I just wonder what you in other states pay.
      Thanks.

      Hey Sue
We are having the same crazy weather. It is so chilly here, I told Tillie to put the heat on- she is freezing. I only have one window cracked open an inch. this is the weirdest spring ever. It is so rainy, and chilly, even my old injury is killing me- my ankle. I broke it when I was in my early 20’s.
So glad you did not have any damage from the earthquake.
Stay snugly under your throws!! I have my Peanuts one I am still using.

Yeah, yeah Colleen……….not nice to gloat…..LOL LOL

So, we were ready to watch the game, and when they were getting on the ice, the dam TV went black and said…..”welcome to Xfinity your TV is rebooting”. We missed the National Anthem, and intros of everyone, and the first few minutes. It was an omen!!
W e were all screaming at the TV….get that dam puck in the net, for the first period. After that, we did not even hear Bobby yelling downstairs. I think he went to sleep. It was painful to watch.
The only good thing was, that my good Quacker buddy and her family were going to be happy….LOL LOL Congrats to you, and your state. It was a long time coming to get that cup over there.
Heard on the news they arrested 5 people, and more to come. They also have the gun that was used. Still no reason for the shooting. Big Papi is still in ICU, but ok.
Marissa just had her first ultrasound. I can’t tell much form the pic. They are all excited, as well as the rest of us.
Hope you have a good night….congrats……boo hoo hoo……LOL

Oh yes, all of Boston is crying so much it is pouring up here……we are sore losers. that is because we are not used to losing….LOL LOL
I loved that little boy with the violin. He was adorable. What a cutie boogieing on down to his violin.
At one point, I called Tillie and said…the show needs to be changed to America’s Out Of Talent. Seems not many great cats are in this year’s show. Maybe more good ones will come on later. I nearly died laughing at the Walrus guy. They should have let him through.
Marissa had her first ultrasound. She has her first dr. apt. tomorrow, and will get the due date.
I want to know why Big Papi was targeted. He is such a good man,and this is insane. I am wondering if it is because he is doing good with the kids down there, and the cartels want the kid sin their miserable gangs. He is still in ICU, and “guarded” they say.
Hope you have a good night! I am done with sports, so I will not be watching the basketball.,,,,LOL

      Wow, Galister!
We renew plates every 2 years. I have a special low number ( 3 digits), so my charge is higher- 110.00, I think. Other people pay a lot less- 40.00.
      Holy crap! that is outrageous.

Gail my registration is $43 a year double that if you renew for 2 years.. I just received my renewal notice so I know that is correct. We no longer get stickers for on the plate they figure the police can run your plates from their car & get that info. I am just wondering since yours is so high. Are you required to have yearly inspections & need a sticker on your window for that? I know in Kansas, where my cousins live, they don’t have to do that. Their cars can be falling apart but they get away with it. I am thinking maybe the states with lower registration have other areas of revenue. We also have the highest tax on gas. I sure don’t know where the money is going as our roads are terrible, potholes everywhere. They also raised the turnpike fees & that is to go for road repairs so who know where that money is going. The thing I think is wrong & I have no problem with the Amish (My mom was one) but they are on the roads in their horse & buggy & pay nothing. They don’t have to have a drivers license, no plates, no insurance & young kids drive those buggies, we have to be 16 to drive & pass a test. Things are just getting so expensive.

I am liking AGT they have had on very good acts. I would not like to decide the winner. Adele that is why I don’t usually like to watch until they get rid of those no talent people. I just wish their whole focus was not on singers & give some other acts a chance. I agree with Gail I do not think disabled people should be separate. I do think the winner should be the best & not because of their story as everyone has a back story.

      Hi Barbara,
I agree with Gail. I would not stay at Neal and Sarah’s right away. It would be better to stay at a motel and you will have a place to be alone. It may be a little tense since you feel uncomfortable around Sarah. I would go and visit though. Maybe the more you two see each the better ir will get.
I do not blame you for not wanting to cook. We have not had much hot weather yet. I guess it will come sooner then we will be complaining about it being too hot.
I hope that you can get another chair for Jerry. The chairs are not made like they use to be. It is a shame. I just hope that Jerry does not try to fix that one and hurt his back.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Adele,
It was a shame that you did not get to see the whole game. We really did not think that they would win. It was nice that they did and I am sorry that your team lost. I really sorry that though.
I am glad that they caught the guys that shot him. I hope they find out the reason why. Is he in the states or still in the Dominican Republic? That is not a good place to live or visit. People are just mean spirited here lately.I just wish that people could get back to normal.
It is a little early to be able to tell if it is a boy or a girl. at least I think it is. I hope that things go well for her at the doctor. I know that you are all excited to find out the due date and if it is a boy or a girl.
My two grand kids are going to come and spend a couple of weeks with us. It is the two that live in Tennesee. I cannot even spell that right. So they are going to come and stay and their parents are coming to pick them up the first week in July.. So now I have to find things for them to do.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

      Hi Gail,
Wow you really do pay a lot of money for your plates. We get ours for two years and paid $95 I think. Ron went and got the plates this year. It is getting expensive to live in Illinois. That new administration sure is not helping much.
You are right about the shirts. The one with Lady Liberty is the one I forgot. The eagle top is really pretty. The only thing that I am not sure that I am going to like is it has cap sleeves. I thought about getting the liberty bell until I saw the sleeves. I will have to wait and see what I think about the top I got.
I missed that show with Jill. I really wanted to see it. I am going to miss her I really liked her. There are a lot of the hostesses are leaving. I wonder why they have been there for awhile. I am not sure about all these new girls. Some times I do not know if they are the host that work for qvc or if they the sellers.
Thanks we were all excited for them to win. I did not understand when they were saying that about the 52 years. I did not know if they were talking about how long since they had won or if they had been playing for that long. I feel sorry for the people in Boston. They really wanted to win and with all the crying it must be hard on all of them. lol I thought it was funny when Adele said that about them all crying that it was coming like rain. She is so funny.

We have yearly inspections too- cost is about 30.00 We also have the stickers on your rear plates.
I have to say, this year seems to have the least amount of talent. Last year they let that regurgitator through, and I nearly puked every time he was on….LOL
It does seem the stories sometimes dictate the popularity of the person. Nice to know, as you can see how much they have overcome, but, not fair to just a regular Joe, who is an average person, form average circumstances. I do like to watch it. I miss Heidi Klum. I loved her! She was such a good sport, and they put her in some very odd positions on stage, and she never minded.
Hope your weather is good. Sun is out up here-yahoo!!

i am really glad you won too. After all, they have not won in over 40 years, and that is a wonderful thing for your entire state. Do they have their celebration scheduled yet?
Boy, will you be busy with the grands for a month. Your house will be full of joy, and noise….LOL I bet Ron will have fun with them too.
Marissa had the ultrasound. All is fine with the baby. It is very tiny, and you can’t see much at all. She got her due date today, and it is 1/23. My birthday is 1/22, so that is going to be a hoot! I had predicted Itty Bitty would be born on my birthday. How funny is that??
Big Papi was flown up here the next day by the Red Sox, in a special medical plane. He is at Mass. general, and the operated on him as soon as he got here. He is still in the ICU, but they say he is able to sit up, and they had him walking a little. So, that is good. I have not heard anything yet today.
Marissa and Heather came here after the doctor, and I am now waiting for Amanda to stop by before she goes to work. Seems we have a revolving door here today….LOL
Hope your day is going well, and the sun is shining!!

      Hi Adele,
It is going to be crazy around here for awhile. I will be so glad to see them we have not seen them since mom’s funeral. We are going to see about getting a pool so the kids will have something to do. I have been wanting one for a long time and am glad to finally be getting one. Ron said he will not have anything to do with it which is fine with me. My daughters are going to take care of it and so that will be all the help I need.
I hope the baby is born on your birthday. That would be so cool you can celebrate with with the baby every year. You are going to have so much fun with the baby. You are so good with your grands.
I am glad that he is in the states. He will get a lot better care. It was nice that the \Red Sox had Big Papi flown here. He will get a lot better care and really good protection from who ever was trying to kill him.
It sounds like you were busy with all the company. It is fun to have them coming over when they can. I know that I enjoy having the kids run in and out all the time.

      Hi DD,
We have not heard about any celebration yet. I know that they will have one they always do when one of the teams win a series. We do not have a foot ball team anymore so I guess the Hockey team will take over.
It sounds like you had a good time at the party. It is fun to see people that we have not seen for awhile. That had to be fun to see the kids that you had not seen for awhile or got to meet for the first time.
I do not blame you for eating cold food when it is that hot. It is nice to have a place to go when it gets too hot in your apartment. They are nice to have the cold bottled water. I hope that the hot weather is over with for now.
The picture of the ice cream cones remind me of being a kid. I wonder if they still make those. If they do I have not seen them.
Well that is all from here. Have a great night.

So, are the kids there yet? I bet you will be real busy, getting the pool set up, and then with all the activity. I hope you all have a ball, and that the weather cooperates for all you want to do. You all deserve a nice visit, with lots of love.
Do you have any plans for Fathers Day? Everyone is coming over, accept Amanda- she will be working. We decided to do Chinese, as it is going to rain in the afternoon.
Today is the last good day predicted for weather for a while. Rain tomorrow, and Monday. So, I am going to sit outside and enjoy the birds today.
Heather may sleep over with the boys. It will depend on whether or not they can go in the pool. the weather has been cool, and the water may be too chilly. So, we will see.
So, no parade planned yet for your hockey players? Come on! We would have already had the parade…..get with the celebrating!! What is up with that….do we need to come get the cup, so we can show you how to celebrate??? LOL LOL

Hello everyone, hope you all are having a good weekend. I made dinner last night while Joey was mowing with the tractor all around the back land, and before Lisa got in from work; so they had a warm dinner to take home and relax to. I remember how tired I would be on Friday evenings, and since I knew he would already be here working for several hours before she got home; thought that would be nice for them both. I am still concerned that Joey is so thin, but am grateful to know that the cardiologist says it is stress related, and that he needs not to worry and he needs to rest. But then I think how awful that he is so young and feels so much pressure that he is sick from it. I pray everyday that we will say and do what will help him and Lisa. I will always feel the loss of the baby still tugs at them both.
I was kicked off our site twice already as I was typing; so don’t know if it is me or just the site. Probably something I am doing wrong. ha ha Jerry is up front watching “The African Queen” movie from ages ago with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. It is such a good movie. He has the TV so loud that I can hear it all the way back in our bedroom. He is checking into going swimming at the YMCA in town. We have that Silver Sneakers program through our supplemental insurance, and I hope he gets approved so I can go too. I would be thrilled beyound words if it would help his back. He has gained quite a bit of weight and I know if he could just get some exercise it would help. I know inactivity is not good for us. He does take two cans of soup and lift them up over his head twenty times twice a day while sitting in his chair. We were able to repair it with Joeys help. I am glad to know about the lifetime warranty now. Jerry is so impatient. But now he knows, thanks to you all.
Gail, if you can, watch Downton Abbey. I think it is fabulous. I know what you mean saying you have so much you want to watch or read. That is my problem too. By the way; so far so good on my little plant. But is it knew my track record it would have said leave me at the nursery.
I so agree with you all about giving Neal and Sarah time to settle in to their new surroundings. I feel like since Ashville is such a resort area that people may visit them TOO much to go see the sights there. We had already thought about staying in a B%B so they and we would have needed privacy. I feel so much better having them close to home.
I am so happy the baby is due on your birthday Adele. That is so sweet. Here’s hoping …….
Love your pictures DD. It sounds like you are really getting some warm weather too. We have to run our AC most of the time here now. Our humidity is just terrible. SUe, I would have been so scared during that earthquake. Have you had them before?
Take care everyone, and hope all the Fathers in your life enjoy their day tomorrow. Hugs to all, Barbara

Thanks for all the info on the car registrations. I can’t believe the difference in price. Illinois is making it so expensive to live here that people are leaving the state in droves-and they wonder why. Especially older people and businesses.
We don’t have car inspections out here-I think they may have them in the city.

      Barbara,
I feel bad for Joey too. I wonder what his stresses are for such a young man. Unfortunately life is full of stresses and we have to learn tools to deal with them. I hope he finds help-I always think counseling is helpful as they can teach you ways to manage your stress.
I didn’t realize Asheville was a tourist spot. Is that where the Vanderbilt gardens are? You will have lots to do when you visit there. It is nice that they are no longer all the way out on the west coast.
Jenny’s ex MIL’s only daughter lives out in Seattle and she goes out there at least a couple of times a year and spends a month or so with her.

      Colleen,
You will have lots of fun with Ethan and Kaylee and you will get a pool too. How perfect is that?!
Is Ron barbecuing today? Greg already asked me what he will be barbecuing for Father’s Day.
I don’t normally get him anything but a card for Father’s Day as I think it should be up to his kids to get him something as he is their father not mine. lol
However this year he turned the big 70 in May and I never got him anything but a card as I couldn’t think of what to get so I gave him a bunch of belated gifts on Father’s Day. I got him two books, a long sleeve and a short sleeve Tshirt with the Lithuanian flag on it, a kit to make his own hot sauce, a cardboard toolbox full of different flavored sausage sticks and beef jerky and a quilt with pictures of Gordon Lightfoot album covers all over the front of it.
He has been feeling very tired lately so he went to the doctor and she sent him for bloodwork so we are waiting on the results of that. So we could use some prayers. I know he is very worried because he says he doesn’t feel right. I hope it’s just the fact that he does so much-still works and then comes home and works in the yard and such and he just maybe doesn’t have the energy because he is older. I hope it’s just that and nothing more serious but I can tell that he is worried as he has been very quiet lately. Plus his legs and feet have been bothering him from his issues with his back so he needs to go back to the nuerologist again too.

      Adele,
I’m glad they didn’t let that walrus guy through as they would just have to cut him later. I’m surprised they let him come back after last year. I miss Heidi too as she was a good sport about everything. I don’t miss Mel B and Simon chasing each other around and pouring water on each other.
So far some of the talent is good. It was hard to believe that strength act with that 80 something year old man. I think they do a pretty good job of mixing in singers and dancers and magicians and other types of novelty acts. I don’t care for the danger acts-and don’t really consider that a talent either.
If the baby is born on your birthday that will be easy to remember. It would be a great gift too!
Last night we went to a Garth Brooks tribute concert. It was a lot of fun and he sang a lot of his hits from the 90’s. he said the shirt that he was wearing was worn by Garth at an actual concert in New York and it cost him $4000 to buy it. Who new something like that would be for sale. I guess there’s a market for anything.
We are dog sitting this week. Boy it sure is different having a young dog around. it’s exhausting! He is so busy all the time!
Jenny sent a picture of the kids in the pool at the house they are renting. I said they should enjoy it as there is no swimming around here as cool and rainy as it has been.

      Hey Everyone!
Did you see on the home page here that they are selling some home style things again like they did years ago.
Right now it is a cell phone case. Some wine glasses and some kitchen towels. I already ordered a set of the kitchen towels.
I still have my beautiful cake plate from years back and of course sweater and stocking Christmas ornaments.
I also have a couple of really sparkly bracelets that they sold on this website years ago.
I am excited to see these coming back.

Gail I saw the homestyle collection. Actually I got an e-mail before you posted. Which set of towels did you get? They are very cute. It is good that you posted as if the others did not get an e-mail they will never know as some just go to the June thread & miss everything else. I like to explore all that is here. If I understand right these items will only be sold here & not on QVC. I remember the ones from before,

      Hey Barbara!
I had to sign in again today, when I came on here. It is aggravating. i wonder if it is when they do up-dates. Or, maybe when our own computers do up-dates. Who knows!
Speaking of technology, Gary is getting used to his new phone. He has been able to answer, and call his customers, without too much trouble. I actually expected him to do much worst, so this is great.
It is hard for you to have to wait to go visit Neal and Sarah, since they are so close. Perhaps you could say you are going to see the sights , and maybe they would be able to have a visit while you are there????? (In the next 2 or 3 weeks, maybe?)
I would worry about Joey too, as I am a worry wart, even more as I get older. I worry about my family, and all my friends. I hate when I hear there is bad weather on an area one of my Quacker friends lives. I anxiously wait to hear that everyone is ok. It is just me, and we hear so many awful things on the news every day.
That was very nice that you had dinner ready for Joey and Lisa. I will bet that was much appreciated. Friday nights were tough, and we all felt the same way.
I sympathize with Jerry. I gained 70 pounds since my back went out, about 15 years ago. Every time you try to do something, it hurts so bad,you have to sit down. Makes it impossible to do any exercise. I will add a prayer that Jerry gets approved to do the swim class.
We had a very busy weekend. the boys were here from Saturday to Sunday. Saturday night, Marissa and Enzo came for Fathers Day, and ate with all of us. Then on Sunday morning, Miss Tillie bought Gary Kane’s donuts, and everyone had breakfast together. Later in the day, Steph and Jhonny arrived, and everyone had Chinese food, which was also good. Steph made “poop emoji” cupcakes, and when she came she said……”The cupcakes came out kind of shitty”……LOL I will post a pic of them when I load them on the laptop. they were very cute.
Notice….Adele did not cook, nor bake. I felt like it was Mothers Day….LOL
I hope you had a good day yesterday, and a good day today!

At first I got the Americana ones and then I noticed that a different set has my favorite saying from Jeanne which I actually try to live by which is the one about changing the way you think about things. So I had to go back and get that set also. Dish towels are always useful!
It’s funny I came here first this morning and saw that stuff. Then I went to my emails and saw that there was an email that was sent about it yesterday-so probably every one else got that email. I was just excited to see this new stuff. lol
I’m grand dog sitting this week. What a difference it is having a young dog in the house after having our elderly dogs. I’ll need a vacation by weeks end.

That was a very sweet post you sent me on FB. Thank you for your kindness. Today marks one month ago I lost her. I have an appointment with the psychologist & regular Dr. this afternoon. I didn’t plan it that way, it just worked out that way.
Thank you again for thinking of me.

P;lease forgive my quickness this morning. ( was on way to dental apt.)
I totally forgot to mention how I felt about Joey’s stress. I think anyone in the line of work that he is in, has a level of stress that nobody can understand. He is picking up the worst cases who need immediate help, and they are all critical. I cannot imagine he feels when they lose someone. In that condition, needing a med flight, there has to be a lot of lives lost, as when they are placed on that chopper, it is already an awful situation.
Your family is always in my prayers, as your boys are the Angels in the sky who try their best to save everyone.

      Hey Gailster
I forgot about the elderly string man act. I was amazed. Their being in a shirt and tie confused all of us, as to what they would do. i am also not a fan of the danger acts. I get too anxious, and my palms start to sweat….LOL I think everyone is going to miss Heidi. But, the new woman who is an actor, may be pretty good, as she seems to be a good sport too.
I will be praying for Greg, and hoping it is nothing serious. We have had way too much bad health news. We need some good health news for a change. Our Quacker health news needs a turn around.
I saw the new house Quacker things. I ordered an inspirational towel, for me and Heather.
That concert sounded like a lot of fun. I love Garth Brooks.
the smaller ducks from Martha arrived today, and now we have a line of them following the bigger one, to look like the ducks on the Boston common.
Did I tell you Gary broke the Gnome I got form the Q? When he took it out of the packaging, it fell, and broke into a million pieces. I called up the Q and asked if I could get one at a tiny discount, as the first broke. The nice lady said she would send another one out at no cost. I did not expect that at all, and was quite thrilled. It certainly pays to be honest.
We are getting rain on and off the rest of the week. the pool will never get warm, at this rate.
I got the 2 teeth prepped for the crowns today, and have the temporary crowns in my mouth. I will be glad when the permanent ones are in. Did I tell you they told me about this “Carecredit” program, where you open an account with them, and then get to pay for your work with 12 months free financing? I am all about the free financing!
We finally got the place booked for the shower. That is a load off my mind. Heather and Pina want to make the (hot) food, and then get cold cut platters, and pastry platters at BJ’s. I will make something yummy, of course. Just not sure what I will make. Perhaps Anise cookies, with the jimmies on the frosting either blue or pink.
I hope Jenny and the kids have a great time on vaca. Also hope you do not get too pooped for the puppy!
That’s the news of the day. I am attaching a pic of Steph’s cupcakes- she did “poop emoji” ones. Also one of the cardinal, and the chipmunks.

Hello everyone. We had a good time when Joey and Lisa came up yesterday for Fathers Day with Jerry. Jerry was in a good mood and we all laughed and talked about a lot of good times we have had together. It really made me feel good to see everyone together, relaxed and having fun together. Lisa had just called her Dad before they got here; so she was happy. Her father is in his late 80’s, and her mother is 65 I think. She las a history of longevity in her family; since both her grand and great grandfather lived past 100. Her mother was diagnosed about 3 years ago with diabetes so she began to watch her diet very carefully lost quite a bit of weight and is able to manage her blood sugar without the use of insulin. She has done really well. We met so many of her family during that awful time when we almost lost Lisa after ther car accident several years ago, and there was so much worry and stress during that time that none of us really gave one another a fair chance to come together as we should have. I know some of you remember. But they were all very nice to Joey during the wedding, and it was lovely from everything we were told and pictures we saw. I try so hard to get Joey to share with me what is causing him to be so stressed; because I really feel just opening up helps to make us feel better. I will keep on saying “we are here for you son” hoping he will say. I think the loss of the baby is still so painful for them both.
Gail, I hope that your husband is feeling better. I know you are worried. But it could be B12 deficiency because I know that really makes you so tired. It might also be his thyroid. So will pray it is something that can easily be managed. He is a really busy man, and it sounds like he hasn’t really slowed down too much as time has gone by. Jerry and I were just talking the other day of how much we didn’t realize when we were at our sons ages of how much energy we used up just in one days time, and we both agreed that we see our sons busy everyday and their run run run everywhere. Reminds me of the Gordon Lightfoot song, “Cats in the Cradle” Do you all remember it? Are you puppy sitting all week? Ruby came up yesterday too. She loves to sit in my lap, and she weighs about 60 pounds, but she is so gentle and puts one foot up at a time and we make it that way. Joey helps her.
Auto Kitty wanted me to tell you that he knows you will know when the right time to bring another snuggle fur baby into your life, DD, and that all kitty mommies feel sad when they have to face hurtful times. So we are thinking of you.
I have been watching Best Baker in America for a few weeks. Just love it. Can’t wait for the new Childrens Baking show that starts soon. They just amaze me, both children and adults, how talented they are. By the way, Adele, I made the sauage and veggies recipe. It was SO good. And picky Mr. S loved it too. Of course; he said at first before he tasted, “what are you trying now?” and then when he started eating he ate for quite a while before saying “this is really really good” So it was a big hit here. Thank you so much.
No more trembles from the ground has there been, Sue? That is so scary. I was in an earthquake once, and boy, was I ever scared. Do you ever miss your job? How long has it been now since you retired? I know I was happy when I walked out that door the last time, but as time passed there were things I missed about my day to day routine. And I found that there were times I didn’t know what to do with actual free time. Do you by any chance live close to the shore? I always thought that would be so calming and beautiful to live close to the beach.
Little one is almost been able to master “potty training” . Woo Hoo. Neal was so proud to show him in his “big boy” undies. Jerry and I watch little videos of him when we get lonesome for him.
Take care all. Hope everyone is doing well. Barbara

      Hi Everybody,
Well the kids are here and we are having a great time. We went shopping today and we bought the pool. We will put it up tomorrow and fill it. The kids will want to get in it right away but I think that they are going to be surprised when they see how cod the water is going to be.
Barb, I am so glad that you had a good visit with Lisa and Joey. It is nice that Lisa is starting to feel better about being around you and Jerry. Maybe getting married was a good thing for her.
Gail, I will be praying for Greg. I just hope that he is needing some type of vitamin. Ron gets tired a lot easier then he use to and he is about to turn 71. So it must have something with their age.
Adele, I hope that Heather and the boys did stay with you the other night. It is really lively around here. It is nice to have the kids here. We will put the pool up tomorrow. I just hope that we put the right stuff under the pool It is going to be easy to assemble well at least my daughter said it is. Ron will not have anything to do with it so the kids are all mad at him. So I figure that he will be helping tomorrow so the kids will not be mad at him.
I liked the new items that Quacker is selling. I did not think that they would ever sell things like that again. I will have to take a better look at the towels. The kids just really keep me busy. So if you do not hear from for for a few days there is nothing we just have the kids.
I hope everyone has a good night.

      Hi Colleen,
Yes the water straight from the well will take a while to warm up. If they have floats maybe they can float around on top of the water at least.
Maybe Ron will change his mind when he sees how much fun the kids have in the water.
We still haven’t gotten blood test results yet but our doctor’s office is kind of slow with that stuff.
You will be very busy with the kids.
I am busy with the dogs-that’s for sure. It makes me realize that I could never have a young dog again unless it was a tiny dog. Luke being a herding dog is so high energy and he’s always looking at what he should do next. I think herding dogs need a job to keep them occupied. It’s so different for him here without any kids to chase around plus we don’t have a fenced yard like Jenny does so all his walks have to be on a leash. He will really need a good run when Jenny gets back. Thank goodness we at least have the dog run for them to potty in.
Have fun with the grands. Do you ever make campfires at night and cook marshmallows and hot dogs. We used to do that a lot years ago and then when the kids got older they would come with their friends on the weekends and have campfires out in the back. Those were fun days.

      Barbara,
I do remember when Lisa had the bad accident. That was only a few weeks after Kim died so that was a traumatic time for both of us that year. I’m glad that things seem smoother with Lisa’s family now.
You know Joey’s stress is probably a combination of things and not just one thing that he can pinpoint. Also, he may be worried about you and Jerry as you age and maybe he doesn’t feel comfortable talking to you guys about that.
Greg is busy. I know that I could not do all that he does. Plus he has had the setback with having to train a new guy for when they sell the business-so that has set back his retirement for a bit so I know he is upset about that. I’m hoping that this guy will be a quick study and all will be in place for him to retire by his birthday next May. When he does I think we would both like to do some traveling around the country. See some of the places that we have not yet seen.
We watch master Chef which just started a new season a couple of weeks ago. We also watch the Great Food Truck Race. I am always amazed how people learn to cook all this different stuff too. I like the baking shows around the holidays. Some of those people are such artists. Last year we saw a woman who would sculpt things out of the fondant and she did such beautiful work she could have been a real sculptress. I still remember her beautiful work.

      Hi Adele,
We haven’t heard back on the blood work yet. Hopefully today.
Is the statue on The Boston Commons from the childnren’s book Make Way for Ducklings? It seems to me I read somewhere that there was a statue about that book but I don’t remember where it took place. Typical me-everything relates back to a book. lol sometimes I am the queen of the nerds.
How nice of the Q to send you a new gnome to replace the broken one. Poor Gary-he must have felt bad when he broke the first one.
How nice to get financing for the crown. Dental work is so outrageously expensive.
I’m glad you guys finally got a hall booked for the shower. I’m sure you will find something cute to make for the occasion. It sounds like you will have a lot of people coming to it.
Everyone loves a good poop emoji cupcake! lol I must say they are cute. lol
I am not watching any of the new summer shows so far as I am still trying to catch up on some of my recorded sitcoms and I have almost all of last season’s Grey’s Anatomy still to watch. Somehow this winter I got way behind on the shows that I usually watch.
I see that a guy from one of the soaps that I watch is on that new Grand Hotel.
Now I have to worry about the kids going in the ocean on their trip since there have been so many shark attacks lately and they are going over to the gulf later in the week. Plus what’s up with all the recent deaths at resorts in the Dominican Republic? I wonder what’s going on there? So many people go there to vacation. It’s not good publicity for a poor country that relies on tourist dollars.
We are having some sun today but I think rain tomorrow. They were announcing all the cities with large amounts of rainfall this morning and it is all over the place. Now i hear that farmers are having problems because of too much rain also.

      Hey Missy Barbara!
I love that song- Cats in the Cradle. It is quite relevant to all our lives right now. Also so true.
I am so happy you had such a good Fathers day with all. I know that made Jerry feel better.
Speaking of Jerry, and his recliner……I can no longer push myself back in mine. Gary has to come over and push on the back. This is so ridiculous. I hate to bother him, and try not to go to the bathroom while watching TV at night….LOL Sometimes I can, and sometimes I can’t.
Did you see the new show last night- Grand hotel? We liked it.
So, I go to the dentist yesterday, and was ale to stay in the chair to prep the 2 teeth. I came home, and took 2 Alleve’s before the Novocaine wore off, and to help with the arm from the chair, and coming up the stairs. It wasn’t bad when I went to bed. In the middle of the night, the pain was at a level 25, on a scale of 1 to 10. It was, and is bad. I know it will go away in a day or so. I did not even get a bra on today…..LOL It just reinforces when I go out, I will suffer to no end, and it is just not worth it. I am a little down today, as even though it was just the dentist, it was nice to get out and see new people.
Sorry to vent. It is raining again today, and that does not help either.
Sooooo, I will be making Italian chefs out of all of you….LOL So glad you liked it. It is simple to make, and does taste so good. That dish is a staple at even the catered events- they always have a dish of sausage and peppers.
Hope your day is good, and you have fun with the puppy! How does Auto Kitty like the dog?
      Have a good one!

      hey Colleen
So happy the kids are there, you finally have a pool, and all are having a ball. The usual thing to put under a pool is about 4 inches of sand. By now, you have it up, so I am sure it will be fine.
Here is a great hint on water maintenance. When you have 2 days of 90 degrees, put some baking soda into the water. That keeps it clear. Plain old baking soda is the exact same thing as PH+. Just a lot cheaper. We get a huge bag form Walmart, and it lasts the whole season. How much depends on how bog the pool is. Ours is 26 feet wide, and we put about 1 to 2 cups in it. Also suggest a bag of shock, once a week. When you put the shock in, the kids can’t swim for 4 hours. I suggest doing that at night, so the sun does not eat it up.
Hope that helps. I can hear the squeals of laughter from here…..
Do not worry about posting. We all just want you to have fun.

      Hey Gailster!
Yes, the ducks are from the book. If you goggle the bronze ducks at Boston common, they should come up. they dress them up for games, and holidays. Kids love to play on them. they also have ducks in the Commons, and swans, with swan boat rides. Kids love it there.
We did not get too behind on shows, accept for How to get Away with Murder- we have the entire season recorded. As I am rather stuck to the house, we watched the recorded shows on Saturday afternoons, or night, when we were not watching a Hallmark movie.Adele’s big outside adventure yesterday made me realize I am right to stay here, unless I have to go out. I can’t begin to describe the pain form the dentist and coming up the stairs. It started in the middle of the night- then add the humidity and rain today too. It is what it is, as I say. I enjoy being out on the deck, and seeing the birds and chipmunks, so I amuse myself. I get a lot of visitors too, so that is good.
I will be doing needlepoint the rest of the day. The kitchen chairs are more comfy when the neck and shoulder is flared up. So, here I will stay for most of the day. What are you doing down there in the roan? I bet reading is your go to thing. I would have trouble holding a book right now. The needlepoint canvas weighs nothing to hold, so that works out for me.
Hope you get the blood tests soon. Also hope Greg is feeling better. I bet the rain bothers him too.
So glad colleen is having a ball, that Barbara had a good Fathers Day visit, that DD is seeing her 2 doctors today, and that Sue didn’t get any damage from the tornado. All is good in Quacker land for today….LOL

Barbara the earthquake did no damage & no aftershocks. It was just a small one but still felt over a large area. It is just strange for PA.

I do miss work but just don’t think I could do it anymore. The actual work is not the problem but getting around & up & down the steps would be at this point.

No I am not close to the shore. Just Greenwood State Park that has swimming but very cold. I would not go there anymore because they have found nests of rattlesnakes & copperheads there. We are also near Lake Raystown. It is fun there. We rented a boat one time and spent the day on the lake & that was so much fun. I always thought it would be fun having a beach house but with all the flooding probably not a wise idea.

      Hey Sue!
I had no idea you had those snakes in your area.
LOL….I remembered a tornado, not an earthquake, that you recently had. Still very happy you were ok, with no damage.
Last night on our news, in a town pretty far from us, a baby got bit by a snake that came out from under the fridge. It was a non-poisonous snake, but, still scary. I think they called it a milk snake? The couple had just purchased the house. The newscaster said it probably got in through a pipe. Still freaky! Snakes are not on my list of favorite animals. Yuck.
Still raining up here- how is it down there?
Did you see that new show last night? Like it?

Really hot down South today. Rain clouds up there and the humidity is awful. Tried to go out on the patio for a while (I had bought one of those recliner chairs from the Q) and wanted to go read a magazine, but it was like a sauna with bugs that bite. I love to sit out there if its not like it was today. Jerry over the years really did plant so many beautiful trees, and so many of them have grown so large now that it does give us good shade and such beautiful colors on the leaves in the Fall. Does little Aizen still have his tree Adele? Has he gotten too big to be interested in it? So sorry you have been having so much pain. I know how hard it is not to be discouraged when you are hurting from doing what others just take for granted. I know I have gotten a real appreciation for being able to do simple tasks from start to finish and still have the strength to do a little something else. Jerrys brother is really encouraging Jerry to join the Y for exercising and Jerry wants to but is concerned that he won’t be able to do more than the swimming he does now. I use the word swimming lightly; since we really just bounce around like a couple of beach balls, but I think anything we do is good for us. His brother has diverticulitis, cataracts, but does do a lot of exercise at the Y. He means well, but just can’t relate to Jerrys back problem.
We had a turkey cross the road in front of us today. He just went strolling across the road and Jerry said “now we have to figure out why the turkey crossed the road too” lol I didn’t know you would have a snake problem in your area Sue. Those are dangerous ones too. Our son that lives in Nevada has the rattlesnake problem and said he always warns his wife and daughter not to walk along at night without shining their phone lights on the path since they get on the warm concrete. Scary. That is the worst thing for me living out here in the country. We are in a very rural area; even though our road has a home about every few hundred feet, but then our lands spread out and behind us. Most of us have lived here for years. We watched our children grow up and are now watching their children grow up. One of our neighbors has 9 sons and all have children, the least is 3. Every time we run in to each other at the store, she has the picture of a new baby lol And yes she drives a van.
Colleen, sounds like you are going to have loads of fun with the new pool. I bet Ron gets out there and helps once the children ask him too. That was great advice on a cheaper way to keep the pool water clean. I never knew about that, but it surely makes sense. If I had a pool, we would have more dogs than children in it. All of our puppies love to swim in the pond. The Bloodhound just goes around paddling his big paws and drinking pond water as he swims. He is like a big big baby. He just loves to be petted, and he is like every story you may have heard about how lazy and slow moving they are. That is, unless he sees a squirrel. Then he stands up against the tree and throws that head back and howls and howls. His name is Bandit; since Lisa said if he didnt belong to them he would be hunting down criminals. She and Joey both love animals. She just cried and cried when she had to find a home for her chickens because of the fox. How are you guinies Colleen? Do you still have them? Do they lay eggs that you can eat or not? Enjoy your family. You deserve some fun times.
Did anyone ever say what Jill Bauer would be doing now? I like to listen to Leah Williams, and Mary Beth Roe. I do have to say that I get kind of tired of hearing about Jane T. talking about her ballet days and her bunions, but just mute it sometimes when I am in a bad mood. ha ha I did buy two really pretty Quacker shirts today. It came in a set of two, on Rachels show, and I got the Orchil and Espresso. Such beautiful colors and I don’t have anything in them. Quacker clothing just last and I know this will too. Angel does such a good job to me. She seems so sweet and I bet she is isn’t she Sue?
Better close, Hope you got some good news from the doctor Gail. Glad you were able to get financing on your dental work too Adele. It is SO expensive to have dental work done, and we had to chose the financing too. Take care all, Barbara

      Sue,
Thanks for the info. It seems to me she tried starting a book club a few years back but nothing much happened with it.
I wonder what books she will choose.

      Hi Adele,
I’m sorry that your trip to the dentist caused so much pain. I hope it is better today.
Yes my go to thing is reading or playing games on my tablet. sometimes I will knit or do some cross stitch too. But those last two are more winter pursuits.
If you couldn’t hold a book you could probably hold a kindle or a nook. I love having them as they are purse sized. But I also read regular books also. My house is like a library. lol
The pups are snoozing right now and I may lay down after this too as they get me up early in the morning to go out. I’m already looking forward to Jenny’s return.
Brent’s ablation is today so prayers would be appreciated. it’s difficult to be far away during times like these.

      Hey Barbara!
Thank you for your kind words. I really feel everyone is getting tired of me and my shoulder. They are having a strawberry festival at the farm we used to go to for apple picking. I sent the link to the kids, and of course, the first question was….are you going? No, I have to say, and that just kills me. There is no place I would rather be Saturday, than at the farm. They are having all kinds of activities for the kids. I seriously hope the kids go without me, as I will be sad if they miss this. Plus, I can see the pics they will take, and that is good enough for me- to see them having fun.
Today is a lot better- just a dull ache. I think the ache is from the weather.
I would DIE if we had poisonous snakes in our area. I am such a wimp. You have no idea. I would never go out in Las Vegas. much less for a walk. I would carry a shotgun, and shoot anything that moved in the grass. LOl I love my cute little critters up here- birds, chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies. Bobby said we have a family of Vole’s in the yard- under the wisteria bush. I have never seen them.
Miss Tillie is still in a funk. She is napping too much in her chair, and not getting to bed at night. Every time I called her last night when AGT was on, she missed the act. We will get her out of it…..soon, I hope. However, she calls me to order a bag from Dooney on the Q. So, I say….”I cant get you out on the deck and you want a new bag- where are you planning on going to use it?” She is too funny.
I hope Jerry does get to the Y to use the pool. Even just getting into the pool would feel good for him. Nobody really understands how bad a back can be, unless you have one. I hope he does not get too discouraged. At least I have my needlepoint, and that makes me feel good to complete one, and the ones I do for gifts are appreciated. I got 2 pillow covers for children. One I will make for The Aizen, and one for new baby.
Aizen loves the yard. He adores the animals, and is also interested in some plantings. He was tasting the herbs on the deck- did not like the taste of mint at all….LOL You are reminding me, I have to show him his tree again. It got really bushy this year…..LOL It seems to take a few years before they really take off.
Bobby took a pic of a family of turkeys. I will have to remember to load the pic on the laptop, so I can post it here. It is amazing. he was doing a job in someone’s yard, and there they were.
Your neighbor is hysterical. Can you imagine the seating plan at Thanksgiving over there??
I loved the little girl, choir, and the funky Asian boys act, where they did crazy things with their bodies. I cried when the choir got the golden buzzer…I am such a wimp lately!
I hope Angel will do shows with the new home Quacker line. I love the home items.
Hope it is a little cooler down there. The temp and humidly are identical up here today- yuck!
Hope you and Jerry have a good day.

      Barbara,
You are the best nurse ever! You seem to be able to hone in on symptoms and come up with an answer every time. We all appreciate your expertise so much.
The doctor left a message for Greg saying his B12 was low and they want him to take supplements and when you look at the symptoms it checks off a lot of the boxes of what he was experiencing-so hopefully this is a simple solution to what was a scary problem. I don’t know if they still want to do a stress test or not but that isn’t a bad test anyway. The doctor wants him to go to the neurologist next for the numbness in his feet caused by his back. they will probably do another MRI to check if the back has gotten worse.
Now we have to get through Brent’s ablation today and things should be looking better.
I remember that your Dog, and Sue’s Cuddles and one of Colleen’s dogs were all bitten by rattle snakes.
I always try and watch where I am walking when we are in New Mexico. I remember last trip there we stopped at a rest stop in Oklahoma and they had signs saying stay on the side walks and don’t go off into the rocks as there could be rattle snakes there. I spent the whole time in the washroom checking all around to make sure no snakes were in there with me.
Once we were at a wedding in Austin and it was outdoors in a yard. When we got there they said be careful we found a rattler in the yard this morning. Well needless to say I spent the whole day looking at the ground. I couldn’t tell you what anyone was wearing or what their faces looked like but I could tell you what shoes they had on. lol
I think Jill said she wanted to spend the summer with her kids as they are getting older and Trevor will be off to college in a few years. She never really said much beyond that as to what she plans to do. However, on the Q boards there is speculation that she got fired or she quit because her You’re Home With Jill Shows got moved to Q2-but who really knows. However, when she had that anniversary show a few months back she had said she wasn’t going anywhere-so this was sort of a surprising about face. Who knows-maybe she was already planning to leave back then but just hadn’t told management yet.
You are right-the Quacker clothes do last forever. I get tired of them before they actually wear out. lol I think Angel would be a fun person to know.

      Hey Gailster
Please read my post to Barbara- it has all the info of the day….LOL
I am posting the turkey pic here- please click on it, so you can see at the babies. They blend into the rocks. Also adding a pic of Tillie eating the poop emoji cupcake. I wonder what she was thinking, as she looks very serious???
I will be saying prayers all day for Brent. With all our positive energy, he will be ok, I know it. Please let us know how he is, when you know. (I know you will) eat some chocolate, Gailster. It makes me feel better.
that is funny about the puppies. I keep threatening to go get one, and they keep telling me I have no ability to take care of a little fuzzy. I would so love to have a dog. I never had a dog.
Praying for Brent!! The Sky boss owes us some good health news.
Don’t worry, Gail, he will be ok. ( look at me telling you not to worry…I worry about everyone!)

Tillie does look serious. She’s probably thinking-what is this world coming to? Now I am eating a cupcake decorated to look like poop. lol
We have tons of turkey families that come through the yard. The babies are cute.
A couple of weeks ago we had two males out in back with their tail feathers all spread trying to attract a lone female. She didn’t seem too impressed as she kept walking away from them. lol I think I heard her mutter-“why don’t they just give me diamonds.” lol
I must say having a dog is a great experience but at least you have had cats.
There are many older dogs that wouldn’t be much bother in shelters waiting to be adopted. At about three they start to mellow out and then by about 6 or 7 they are pretty calm companions. Plus there are breeds of dogs who have a low level of activity. My favorite couch potato breed is the French Bulldog. it seems like they live just to sit next to you on the couch and snuggle. Very low activity-even when young. They are like my perfect dog at this stage in my life. However, you have to be careful with them around pools or ponds as they can not swim due to the size of their heads. They are very cute.

I hope you got good news from Brent by now. I just said added a prayer for him. i am part of this website that does Novena’s. They do one about every 2 weeks, and it is my way of praying with people, and not having to get into a church….LOL
      Tillie looks way too serious….LOL
OMG- you have a zoo in your yard! that is a funny story abut Mom turkey!
That is awful that those poor dogs have heads too big to swim.

      Hi Adele,
Thanks for all the prayers for Brent. He texted me late yesterday afternoon and said he was tired and sore but everything went well. he also messaged Greg on Facebook and said his thigh and chest hurt but he was good and staying at a friend’s in Lubbock that night. I told him we would call him tonight when he will be more awake. I think he will feel so much better when he is no longer worrying about dealing with those heart arrhythmias. Once again-I appreciate the prayers more than you will ever know. Now I just hope he follows doctors orders and rests for a few days. He told me someone was driving him back and forth but don’t know if that’s something he told me just to make me feel better or not as I know he is pretty independent. But i will just have to trust that he is being careful. Hopefully he needs a doctor’s clearance to go back to work so he doesn’t go back too soon.
Jenny said they had a tornado warning down in Orlando. I asked if she went to see Trump when he was there. lol She said no. lol
They haven’t missed much here as it has been cool and rainy. I couldn’t believe how low our electric bill was last month due to the cool temperatures. Normally it’s higher in the summer what with running the AC.
Now I just heard that the shooting of David Ortiz might have been a case of mistaken identity. What a sad story. I’m glad he is doing better-but his life has been changed forever-for what? Greg’s trying to eat his breakfast and the dogs are just over there staring at him. It’s very funny. They live in a house where kids are giving them stuff all the time and we have a very strict no feeding the dogs from the table policy in this house-so they just don’t get it. lol Even though we are not as active over here they probably appreciate not being crated all day like they are at home-so it’s a trade off.
I will post a picture of some French Bulldogs-they are so cute. Jenny’s Mimi was a Frenchie and she was just about the easiest dog in the world.

      Hey Gailster
First the most important- so glad Brent is home with a friend, and ok. Glad he is not spending the night alone, as that would freak me out too. I think the hospital would not release him, if he had nobody picking him up. they are very strict on a ride home after any kind of anesthesia, even the awake kind, so do not worry. How was he last night, when you talked to him?
I love the Frenchies. I showed Gary and said….can I have one? He yelled…NO. It was pretty funny.
Did you take a pic of Greg eating with the dogs looking??? That would have been a goo done to post on here!
So, it is freaking pouring, and we now have 2 buckets under 2 leaks. Thank God Gary checked, as I forgot about it since there have been no leaks in a while.
Poor Papi is still in the ICU. I am thinking he is in worst shape than they want to say. What an awful thing to happen to him. Seriously?? h didnto deserve this.
I hope there are no more tornadoes while Jenny is in Florida. that is too scary!
Hope your day is good….ours is wet, inside and out….LOL

      Hi Ladies,
Sorry it’s been awhile since I was on here. I haven’t read all the posts yet but I do have a few things to ask.
Is Papi out of the hospital yet? I heard it was a case of mistaken identity. Some guy he was with & wearing similar clothing was the intended victim; they’ve arrested several suspects in the case.
I saw in one of the posts you were talking about towels. Did I miss something? Just wondering.
Did you see the QF show the other day? So many things I want, so little $$$!!!
We’ve been having some chilly weather out here. Down into the 60s. But we’re due to warm up thru next week, more normal temps, the 70s. Of course the running joke here is that summer doesn’t begin till after the 4th of July. And we don’t tan, we rust.
On the news they say we have 2 different computer models for our summer. One is hot & dry, & the European model says the opposite, wet & cooler than normal. We shall see.
Who belongs to those adorable Frenchies? They are cute.
Well, that’s all I have for tonight.
      take care

      Hi Adele,
We have not talked to Brent yet we have just been texting back and forth as I want him to be awake when we talk. I told him we would call later today. I never realized how hard this would be. At least when he had a girl friend I knew she would be there with him through this.
I never did take a picture of the dogs watching Greg eat but I did take pictures of them and texted them to Jenny yesterday.
They are in Clearwater Beach now and will be home Sunday. I hope they had a good time and that Kendall enjoyed Universal Studios and the Harry Potter stuff. I have just started reading the book series so she and I can talk about it. I love that as she is getting older and not as chatty as she was when younger-the pre teen years are setting in. lol
I do enjoy having the dogs here but will be glad to hand them back to their family. If it showed me anything it’s that we need a dog who is at least middle aged at this stage of our lives. lol I know Greg has really enjoyed taking Luke for walks out on the property this week. I know he misses having dogs too. Callie was throwing up yesterday so that had me concerned even though I know dogs will get an upset stomach sometimes I am a very responsible dog sitter so I worried-but she seemed to feel better by last night and she wanted to eat so she is okay now. However she is getting older so you never know-I’m trying to think how old she must be and I’m think maybe thirteen or so-that’s getting up there.
I forgot about your leaks. I’m sorry that they came back. That has become a pain for you guys.
It’s the first day of summer! I have actually enjoyed the cooler temps we had this spring but I could have done without all the rain.
How is the asparagus that you planted? I’m thinking by next year some should be edible. Then once you start getting some you will get more each year. For some reason our asparagus has tasted exceptional this year. Every year Greg has tried to grow melons but not very successfully. Maybe finally this year.

      Hi DD,
I was just telling Adele about French Bulldogs. Our daughter used to have one called Mimi who died last year. I was just telling her they are my perfect dog as they are couch potatoes just like me. And they are so cute. I really had a soft spot for Mimi.
If you go to the home page here you will see that QF is starting to sell home goods again like they did years ago. Right now they have kitchen towels, wine glasses and cell phone cases-but just for I phones. Adele and I ordered some towels. You can only order through QF not through QVC.

      Hey DD!
I love the yellow fish- how cute. Great beach scenes too. We are stuck in the rain and humid mode. So gross out there. And….the leak is back in the living room, since the torrential rain event went over us.
Big Papi is still in ICU. Now they are saying ti was mistaken identity, but people are not believing it. Nobody is quite as big as he is, and he is very recognizable. I think they are trying to cover it up, as they will lose a lot of tourist activity. Plus, a lot of people who are on vaca down there are turning up dead.
Gail told me about the puppies, as I have always wanted a dog. I really cant care for one, even though I would love one….LOL I can barely care for me….LOL
There is a new site for home Quacker, and they had towels with Jeanne’s sayings on them. I missed the Quacker show! Dam!
How are you doing??? Have you been out with your friends at all? I hope you have.
Hope you have a good weekend, and have a nice day, with some sunshine….we are supposed to get some sun tomorrow.

      Hey Gailster
Is Brent still with his friend, or home? I hope he feels better when you talk to him. that would make you feel so much better. Does he have to go back to the doctor who did the procedure soon? Still praying for him!
The leak is getting aggravating. The guy we have is real good. I left him a message, and know he will call soon. But, he could be on vaca, who knows, as he usually calls back quick.
It is still gloomy here, and very humid. We are supposed to have a nice day tomorrow, and the humidity is supposed to go away tonight. We have been in the house since last weekend.
The bunny in the back yard seems to love the ducks form Martha Stewart. Bunny sits next to them, and I think it is funny. this am, he was sleeping next to the bigger duck.
You will not believe this- the gnome is lost. It said he was delivered yesterday, and no gnome is here. Said it was delivered by the post office. I waited for the mail delivery today- still no gnome. I think the Q will think I am nuts. One bunny never arrived, and they replaced it- next one came. The gnome got destroyed by Gary, and they sent another, which is now lost. This is crazy. I never have an issue with lost packages.
That is funny about the dogs. We are getting older, and caring for anything besides us is a task, for sure. I hope the older dog doe snto get sick again before Jenny gets back.
Hope the sun is shining for you…it is hiding up here….LOL

Happy Friday to All. Very hot and humid down South today. We had a busy afternoon. We drove into town, went to pick up our prescriptions, Jerrys moms pull up depends, her meds, got her personal care items all stocked up, went to the bank, paid the electric bill, (ours in awful in the summer, Gail, because of the AC but we have to have it) went to UPS to send off a box of goodies to Colin, got a few things at the store to do a beef roast and veggies on Sunday, got our dinner to bring home from a local Mexican resturant and finally headed back home. Oh, I forgot, we went to the YMCA (no Village People singing there) and talked with them about our starting swimming and that went well. They recommended the Silver Sneakers program due to our ages being over 60, so I am really in hope that Jerry will start to go with me. I think that is the only way he will go will be if I go; so I came home and found my Denim and Co. swimsuit and poor Jerry can’t fit into his old suit; so I am just going to get him one at Walmart. He has gained so much and I am just big and have been for years, but I just don’t care at this point. Hope this will help both of us.
I am glad that Brents ablation is behind him. I am praying this procedure will really help with his heart arrhythmias. He has gone through so much, and now I am sure his doctor will monitor him closely and keep him going in the right direction. Prayers coming for you all Gail. I know being away from him when he is not well is so hard and worries you all but he is smart and you all will encourage him and keep him moving in the right direction. Has he made any good friends while he has been in NM? Young people are so smart they just amaze me. I think I have such a hard time realizing that our young ones are not my babies anymore, but intellegent productive adults. So glad Greg is doing better too. I love good news.
Adele, your Mom is just beautiful. I have the exact same shirt. I love it. I just wouldn’t wear stripes until I finally broke down and bought one from Quacker. I don’t think it makes me look any better, but I really believe it is Jeannes placement of the stripes. Your turkeys were so cute. So were all the little French Bulldogs, Gail. I have often thought of having one. They look like little snuggle bunnies.
DD, I ssaw on the weather that it is really cool out your way. Do you all even have air conditioners? I know our son when he lived in northern Ca. said they didn’t and they didn’t need one.
For some reason, ladies, my font on this has suddenly gone to tiny tiny so I am going to close. Take care all, and hope this thing quits whatever it is doing. Barbara

      hey Missy Barbara!
I was just closing out the laptop for the night, and there you were.
I have to ask. Do you have solar power in your area? We got the panels a few years back and we are saving more than half the electric bill every month. We did the 20 year rental thing, and the state of Mass had a program to have them installed free. Prior to the big rate hike on National Grid, our summer bill was over 700.00. Now, on a really awful month of 24/7 with the central air, and the one Bobby has downstairs to supplement the central, we pay about 400.00 a month.
We get 2 bills- one from the solar company and one from National Grid. In the months of May, and June, National Grid owes us money. When the air is kicked on, the bill goes up, the more we use it, but never higher than a little over 400(the combined 2 bills) . The solar bill is as low as 35.00 in winter, to a high of close to 200.00 in summer. In winter the National Grid does not go over around 150.00- that is in December when we are having all the lights, and baking going on. Without the solar, the bill used to be around 400.00.
So, basically, we have cut our bill in half, even with the 2 bills together. I am absolutely thrilled with the solar. We had solar City, but they got bought out by Tesla. So, all documents now say Tesla on them. I can go on line any time, and view what we are using for the day, week, or month. Even compare years….LOL
I hope this is a thing you can do in Tennessee. You would love it!
It is cooler up here, but the temp is matching the humidity- in the 60’s. I have not put my nose out there.
Steph and the boys, with Heather are supposedly coming to use the pool tomorrow. I hope the water cooperates, and is not so cold for them.
Miss Tillie came up tonight, and she ate with us. I had her put her hearing aides in….LOL She has a lot of trouble with them because her hands shake so much. I just talked her through it, and she got them in.
I hope you and Jerry have a great time in the pool. I bet you will have stories for us. I will be looking forward to them. The water is so good for everyone. I am still scared to get into our pool. Even with the stairs. It is because I use a cane, and can’t imagine being in there with nothing to help me walk around. I am very “tippy” when I do not use the cane.
How has Jerry’s Mom been lately? Thank you for the nice comments on Tillie. She does love her Quacker clothes, that is for sure.
Hope your weather gets cooler for you, so you can enjoy your yard.

      Hi Ladies,
It’s another lazy afternoon out here. It was downright chilly this morning. I turned on the heat to get the chill off. You wouldn’t know it was the second day of summer. Some areas of the state are under a freeze warning this weekend. Unbelievable!!!
I got a post from QF the other day & I saw the hand towels. They’re darling. The holiday towels should be coming out for CIJ. Let’s hope so.
Barbara, tell Auto kitty I appreciate his advice. lol. I had another bad day yesterday. It hits me out of the blue.
I’d have heart failure if I came across a deadly snake. Luckily, we don’t have any down here. They’re up in the mts, I hope!!! You’d NEVER get me to live in the hot desert areas. Oh we have some creepy crawlers around, but I try to avoid them!!

Oh yes we do use AC, but not as much as you guys do. We have natural AC, the Pacific ocean. IT’s when the East wind blows that it gets so hot here. Once the winds change to the west, it cools down.
Well, that’s all I have for today.

      DD,
I like your plaques about losing a pet. I have this one on a shelf in our family room-along with a picture of the three musketeers-Abby, Rocky and Belle and a statue with a lady reading a book with a dog at her feet-and on the statue hangs all three dogs last collars.

      Hey DD
The Waiting at the door sign is so sweet, and sad, at the same time. I know how much you continue to miss your beautiful Jewell. I wish I could say something to make the pain go away.
Love the pictures of our Angel Kitty. You cannot even find her face, she is so furry.
The kids came over today, and for the first time, used the pool. Aizen’s lips were blue, but he stayed in there for a while. I am glad they were in it.
Im attaching a pic of the ducks I got from the Q for the garden. I made our own “Make Way for Ducklings” display….LOL
check out the pic of the parsley I am growing on the deck- the left side of the window box has mint. It is getting huge, and I can’t believe it,especially since we had all that rain.
I hope today was better for you, and that at least one thing made you smile. There is a new movie on Hallmark tonight….

      Hi Barbara,
I’m hoping that this will do the trick for Brent and he no longer gets the arrhythmias either. He has been in New Mexico off and on since he went to college there so he’s met quite a few people over that time. It’s funny that the problem just showed up recently as I read that it usually shows up in teens or twenties normally. He also has another congenital defect in a ureter but despite my urging he won’t look for his birth parents. I think it could be so beneficial to him. He did do a DNA test to find out his ethnic background. Nothing really remarkable showed up but I do think it shows people that you might be related to.
Greg and Luke ( Jenny’s dog) have now bonded because Greg takes him for long walks every day. Maybe this will help him not be afraid of other men too.
I’ll bet you have loads of fun getting together the care packages for Collin. What does he like now?
I hope you and Jerry will use the pool at the Y. It sounds like it could be very therapeutic.
I do know something about down south heat as my parents lived in Louisiana and my Mom lived in Florida. Sometimes the air is so heavy that it actually has a presence. Midday in summer you hardly want to move at all. I think that’s why things are slower paced in the south.

      Adele,
You do have a troop of ducklings. I think the gnome must be that travelocity gnome and he is traveling around the country. lol
We talked to Brent yesterday and he is cleared to go back to work today-but he is only cleared for the light jobs.
next week he goes back to the doctor and they will check to see if they got everything that they needed to.
So your water must still be really cold. Poor little Aizen.
Every once in a while we have a problem with a lost package. I had two recently that must have taken six weeks to get to me. One sat in a post office about 40 miles away for weeks. For awhile shipping was all messed up but it has improved as of late.
it looks like we will be getting into the 80’s next week with chances of showers every day.
Tomorrow is our 46th anniversary. It’s hard to believe that we have spent almost 2/3 of our lives together. It’s been good.
For our anniversary he is going golfing in the morning. lol I don’t mind-that’s how we’ve stayed together all these years.
Just take me out to dinner and I am happy. lol

      Hi Ladies,
Gail, congrats on your anniversary. I hope you get a nice dinner. The plaque about meeting you at the door is the one Sue sent me awhile back. I continued on & found they have several items. That’s where the pics of the others came from. Most everything was about dogs, but they did have a handful of items for kitties, not much tho. When I had to put my Fluffy down in 91, I found a gray statue of a kitty that looks so much like her it’s amazing!! Her green eyes, pink ears, down to the white tip on her tail. And I put her last collar around the neck. It’s still there. I hope I find one that looks like Jewell eventually. I found this one in a mom & pop drugstore back in the 90s. I love those places. You can find things that no one else has.

Adele, you do have quite a brood of ducks, quack, quack. The parsley looks good. I hope the rest of your herbs sprout up as good. Oh say, about Instagram, our fave Lock &Lock lady, Chris Pryme posts on there her farm, pets, & lets us see her pies, etc. And so do some of the other hosts, David, Mary, Shawn, she posts pics of Jaggar, it’s a great place to find all kinds of stuff. That’s where I find a lot of those things I send you guys.

I have a dear friend who sent me the sweetest email about Jewell, & the pics I put together. I’m gonna try to send it, but not sure it will go thru. If it shows up as an envelope just click on it & hopefully it will open up.
Well, I guess that’s all for now.

      Hey Gailster!
I hope you had a good Anniversary- Happy Anniversary!!! I know you must have received something sparkly, that you probably picked out yourself….LOL You two have been married for a long time, and that seems quite rare in today’s world. Go Greg and Gail!!
We will hear tomorrow about what you two did, where you went, and what you received. I bet you went to your favorite restaurant!
If you lived here, you could have gone to the big Casino opening today. That would have been a good way to celebrate.
I heard Big Papi was stepped down to a regular room. That was good news that he is no longer in the ICU. I like good news.
Did Jenny get home yet? I saw some pics on facebook, and they looked like they were having fun.
I am glad you spoke with Brent and that he is feeling better. Also good news. Now we have to pray for his next appointment for good news, and that all was as successful as they wanted, or better than they wanted.
I do love my ducks. I ordered some red, white and blue ribbon for their necks, and orange ribbon with bats for Halloween, and red, white and green for Christmas. I intend to decorate the ducks….LOL
I am not watching the high wire act tonight. I hate those, and do not want to see someone die. They make my hands sweat- even hate them on AGT. Ill be watching The Good Fight.
      Hope your day went fabulous!!

PS…Marissa and Luna came today so Luna could go in the pool.

      Hi DD!
Please read the post to Gail for all the info of the day.
I hope you had a better day, and the sun was shining outside, and in your heart. I know you will heal, it just takes time.
I also hope you do find a statue that looks like Jewell. If I ever see one, I will send it to you.
It was hot here today. Marissa came with the dog to swim. She did not go in, because she had t go to a birthday party this afternoon.
I hope you do not watch that awful high wire act. They make me so anxious, you have no idea. I do not want to make myself nuts thinking the guy will fall at any second. Not for me….LOL I hate them on AGT too.
I hope you had a good day today. I just made egg salad sandwiches, with cut up cucumber slices for a veggie, and strawberries for dessert. that was simple enough for today….LOL
I saw the Phantom Gourmet last night, and he was in Penn. he went to this huge market place in Philly, with great food vendors, and all kinds of vendors selling things like donuts, to fancy foods. It looked like a fabulous market. I wonder if Sue has ever gone there. of course, I can’t remember the name….LOL
      Have a good night!

      HI Ladies,
It’s been a cool overcast day today. Comfortable actually. Another lazy day. I don’t know if you’ve heard, we had several earthquakes off the Oregon coast
far away from me. They were way underneath the ocean floor. We get them every so often. No damage done.
Our Republican lawmakers are MIA due to a walkout in protest a bill that would put a lot of people out of work. They passed a bill back in the 80s or 90s that put the lumber industry out of business. IT took several yrs for us to recover from it.
NO, I won’t be watching the high wire show. I’ll be watching either Columbo or Murder, She Wrote. I’ve been on a MSW binge since I found they released it to Prime. I’m living in a time warp, I swear!! I just prefer the old shows to the ones on today. What can I say???

      Well, that’s all for tonight.
      Have a wonderful week.
Thanks Adele for your kind words & offer. That’s sweet.
Colleen, are you okay? I just now saw on the news the flooding in Mo. It looks like the whole state is in danger. I pray you’re okay!!

      Hi Everybody,
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. We are having such a good time with the grands. Owen and Aliza have been here also. They ar coming here Tuesday night and they are going to stay the night.
Happy Anniversary Gail. I hope you had a great night out. DD we are fine here. The flood waters have not come anywhere near us. So we are doing just fine. Hope your weather is still really good here. Adele you ducks look so cute. That is funny that you have ribbons for every season.
Well I better get to bed the kids get up early.
      Have a great night.

i did not watch it either. I guess the guy is alive, as I did not hear of anyone dying on the news.
We watched The Good Fight last night. I hope they keep it on the regular channels, sow e will be able to continue watching it.
Gary loves the old shows too. He watches a lot of cowboy shows.
It is hot and humid up here today. I will not be going outside, for sure. Plus, I got a gout attack in the middle of the night, so I am not in great shape today. It is very hard to walk on that foot. It will pass- started the medication for it, and it will be gone in a couple of days.
I hope you are good today!!

That is great news that you are nowhere near any flood areas. The weather has been awful, all across the states.
Ill send a pic of the ducks with the ribbon on their necks, after Heather puts them out….LOL

It’s another overcast day, but it looks like the sun is coming out.
Adele, sorry to hear about the gout. I’ve heard it’s painful. I hope the meds work quickly.
Those ducks will be all decked out for the seasons with those ribbons around their necks. lol
      Not much going on here.

      Hi DD,
I’m glad the earth quakes confined themselves to the ocean floor miles away.
We are going into a period now where the temps will be rising to the upper 80’s and the humidity will rise so the AC will start to get a workout.
Greg came home early from golf league last night as they got rained on. We are supposed to have storms again later on tonight. The grass has been growing like crazy with all the rain.
I know a lot of people like the older shows. It seems like when I watch them they never seem quite as interesting as when I saw them the first time. I’m always thinking how dated everything looks. By the same token I do like old movies-so go figure. I’m just weird.

      Hi Adele,
No high wire act for me either. I have no interest in that stuff.
When did they move The Good fight to network TV. I will watch that as I loved The Good Wife. Is any of the cast the same besides Christine Baranski? Of course it’s worth it to watch it just for her anyway. Did you ever watch that sit com with her and Cybil Shepherd? She was very funny on that. She was also good as Leonard’s mother on Big Bang Theory.
We did not go to my favorite restaurant on Sunday. We went to a local restaurant which is like an old Wisconsin supper club where they still put the relish tray, the three dish server with various salads and cheese and liver pate on the table. This particular restaurant is so old and has been around so long that my parents used to drive over there from 40 miles away 50 years ago because the bartender mixed good drinks. lol
I didn’t pick out anything sparkly yet. I usually get something from my favorite jewelry store in KC but since we didn’t go there this year I’m not sure where to go. That would have been fun to go to your casino opening. We usually go to the casino one night when we are in KC so we missed that this year too. However, I did mention wanting to go to the casino boat next weekend so maybe we will do that and extend the anniversary celebration. lol
I hope the gout is getting better. Brent gets that too and I know it hurts!
So this morning I walk into the living room and two feet out the front window is a doe and two fawns. I don’t want to run into the kitchen to get my phone so I grab my tablet and turn it on to try and get a picture but by the time it actually gets going they have moved behind a bush. I just love the fawns they are so cute. And what was even weirder was there was a bunny out there with them so it was like Bambi and Thumper. Disney in my front yard!
So Jenny comes to get the dogs and their stuff on Sunday and I suggest before they go she take Luke out and let him run for a bit as we had walked him on a leash all week as we didn’t want to lose him out here in the country where there are woods and fields and wild animals. So the kids take him out to run him. Luckily Greg was out there too as Luke slipped and fell into the pond. So Greg had to run over and pull him out as even though he was swimming there’s no where for him to get the footing to climb out. Thank goodness disaster averted.
I think everyone had a good time on their trip. We will hear more about it later this week when we go over there. It was very quiet again after the dogs left. It made us realize how much we miss our dogs.

      Hi DD!
I love the pics of the kittens. That one is adorable!
It is going to rain again over here today. Some larger storms are predicted, and I am worried about the water coming in. The nice man who fixed it before called, to say he will be out of work for a while,m due to illness. He gave me the names of 2 people, one who I spoke to when I had called him, to do the repair. He has not answered us yet. I am hoping he intends to come by, as when he answered for Peter, he said he would be out in 2 weeks. Always something around here. I just do not like water coming into a house, as it causes a lot of damage.
I started taking the prednisone today, so ti will work fast, as it always does. It is a hard pill to tolerate. It makes you very hot, and bitchy….LOL I always get a “prednisone headache” after a few day on the pills. Oh well, at least it makes the arthritis feel great! sorry for complaining.
do you watch the new show Grand Hotel? It seems to e a good show- only 2 episodes so far.
I hope the weather is good for you. Are you going to your friend’s house for July 4th?

      Hey Gailster!
They are doing the entire 1st season of the show. This week was the 3rd show. Yes, many of the actors are in it, and they keep mentioning Alicia every once in a while, so I wonder if she will be in it too. I am hoping they plan to continue running it on regular TV. We have enough stations already, and have no intention of buying that station they have it on.
That was great that Greg was out there when Luke fell in the pond. Things always happen for a reason, I say. Are you tired of all the quiet yet ? I bet the dogs miss you, as they have to be crated when Jenny works.
We have a restaurant like that here- the Continental. That is the one we went to with Winnie and Al. They even walk around with popovers, corn fritters, and a couple of other appetizers. We love that place, and it is always the “blue hairs” that are in there-LOL Glad you had a ncie dinner with the hubby!!
The gout is a little better today- started the prednisone today. But, I am walking funky, and it is killing the back. It is hard to walk with a foot that feels like the bones are broken. I did not move a lot yesterday….LOL Did I tell you when I woke up yesterday, I turned to Gary and said,”I think God hates me”. some days you just have enough wit the pain issue….LOL So,later I thought….maybe God wants me to take a round of prednisone to help with the shoulder. Who knows? Maybe this will help the shoulder be more tolerable. I have hope!!
OMG- what a beautiful sight right there in your yard. Maybe you should keep the tablet on when you go to bed, and in that room, so next time you can catch it on film. I would love to see that pic.
What are you doing for July 4th? I am in the planning stage, as not sure who will be around.
Speaking of Brent- any news yet on the success of the procedure?? He is always in my prayers. On the other hand, maybe I should not be the one to pray for people, as look how God rewards me when I ask for a tiny bit less pain every day? “Oh, you want less pain in your shoulder, Adele? Here you go- now you won’t even notice your shoulder.” LOL Thank God I have a sense of humor.
I hope the weather in your area is better than ours- getting rain storms this afternoon.

Goodness Adele, hope your gout is doing lots better and the Prednisone is not being too hard on you. I know those side effects can be hard to handle, but mabey it will help your should er too. That gout is so painful. Jerrys Dad had it and when he had a flare up I felt so sorry for him. Are you able to wear your shoes? We kept a pair of house slippers for him with the big toe section cut out since he told us any weight on his toe really hurt him. I was really interested in your story about the solar panels. We have a “solar farm” located about 50 miles away; where the state is spending our tax dollars on. So far; we don’t have it offered in our area, but I would love to have it. I am so glad it works so well for you all. Do you all use coal to heat your homes? If so, how does that work? If it’s complicated don’t worry. I was just curious lol
Gail, I bet you all do miss the puppies now. I know when we kept Ruby while Joey and Lisa were in Ca. we got so used to taking her for a walk twice a day, and our little nightly routine of her getting a treat and Auto Kitty getting his treat. Auto Kitty was pretty jealous of any attention that we gave Ruby and he would sit in his QVC box on the sofa and just stare at me with his ears back. It was so funny. Ruby would play with him, and he loved chasing her and then she would turn and chase him. She was so gentle though, and we didn’t have to worry about her hurting Auto. And then when they came topick her up it was SO quiet and we really missed her. When she comes up to visit now she puts her front foot up on my chair like we did, and I help her to sit with me.
I am like all of you, I don’t like to watch shows that show dangerous acts. I just don’t think it should be on there live where someone could be hurt or worse. It concerns me that there are people who “enjoy” seeing that. Jerry really likes to watch the old shows and movies. He was watching Tarzan just a few days ago; and then later he and I watched “The African Queen” with Katherine Hepburn. Just love it. And our Christmas traditon is “Its a Wonderful Life” each Year.
How nice of you to send that beautiful poem to DD, Sue. We have all been there, haven’t we? and we all know how very hard it is. But the special love and place our little friends make in our hearts makes it all worth it.
Glad you had a good anniversary Gail. The restaurant sounds so good. Love a great place like that . Hope your luck is better than our last visit to the casino. We had a good time, but it just makes me feel so grumpy when I lose, and that seems to be all we do. But I do like to go.
Better close for now. It is breakfast for dinner tonight. Our big decision is scrambled or over easy lol We have almost too much excitment. By the way, our little Colin is more precious than words can say. And Jerrys Mom is doing better. Her antibiotics did well, and Jerry laid down the law to them when they tried to raise her monthly bill due to her ” dementia” Jerry told them my Mom is exactly the way she was when she came to live here 3 years ago, and you all are just changing who owns this place and want to raise rates, and we are not just going to sit here and let you do it. I was proud of him for standing up for his mom because he was right. She does good, and is a very good resident for them. If Jerry had a better back his mom would be living with us, and he told them so.
Take care everyone, and have a good evening, Barb

      Hey Barbara
That is wonderful that Jerry gave them the what for, and won!! Good for him, and great for his mom. It is good to hear she is doing better. Sad to hear how Jerry feels because of his back. You two live alone in the house, and if you needed help with her, the wait would be too long. Even though he feels bad about it, it is the right thing to do. If we were alone, we would not be able to help Tillie. Bobby is her Angel. There are days he gets disgusted with having to clean things when he gets home so late, but he just vents to us, and then it is done. We recognize all he does, and try to help him out in other ways, to say thanks for doing what we cannot. if Bobby got married again (never happen, he says) we would be screwed.
The prednisone is tough. Especially the first 4 days, with 2 days of 6 and 2 days of 5 pills. You get that “zone” headache within the first day. here is a funny for you….my day:

This is Adele’s brain, and this is Adele’s brain on prednisone……

Woke up before 5am, and was up before bobby went to work at 6am
At 6am i went into the kitchen to put out butter and eggs for muffins
after asking Gary several times what time it was, (I was lonely) I got up and took a shower at 7am
Made muffins at 8:30- that made Gary very happy- Tillie too
then got out the sausages, to make sausages, pepper and onions for dinner
Annoyed Gary all day long. Marissa came by to do a BJ’s run. Started a little disagreement with Steph, as I felt I had things to say about her being so hard on herself, and everyone around her. Heather ended up talking to her, and said I made her sweat and stop arguing with people. I was not arguing, I was stating my opinion, which we know is always right…heard that from Steph too. Heather reminded me I was on “the zone” and stop talking to extremely sensitive people!!!
I am hot, hands very hot. I will get about 4 hours sleep a night for the next few nights…..on to tomorrow.
Oh well. Spoke my mind, and and still think things needed to be said…for now. Maybe not so much in 11 days.
All this from the woman who first takes her meds, and watches TV in bed in the am, until she can move. Gets out of bed by 9:30. I think Heather is going to kill me. Had I been asked, I may have possibly advised any of you to wait 11 days, and see if you still wanted to have that discussion. But. i must say, some things just need to be said, sooner or later. I did say them in my best social worker legalese, as I call it. Non threatening terms and non confrontational. Still, I was accused of attacking today. But, anyone who does not agree with her, is attacking- hence the need for the discussion.

So, I cried all through AGT last night- at the African choir, the young girl who sang the opera song, and a few others. Laughed my butt off at the last act, who hut the golden buzzer by mistake.

We use oil, gas, electricity, and propane gas,to heat our homes- I believe coal is not allowed up here. We use oil here. Some people do have pellet stoves or wood stoves to supplement the heating systems. But, if you have those, your home insurance goes through the roof. I absolutely love our solar panels. Best thing ever- hope you will be able to do them soon.

By the way, gout pain is all gone. It only takes 2 days. It is a miracle drug. God help everyone around me….LOL I will be watching the debates tonight.
Hope you have a good night….LOL Watching the debates???

Adele, I think you should head up the panel presenting the questions for the debate, and we could all get some answers; especially in your frame of mind today. lol I was just sitting here watching David present Bio Cleaner and “debating” whether I should order or not. Looks like a product I really need, BUT here’s the downer, I will have to WORK if I do. Decisions, decisions. But I do have good intentions. I forget, does that count anymore? I have been in a weird mood for years, but not really worried, and I don’t think I can use any medication for my reason. SO at least you have an excuse. Mabey next time you should think about hanging a warning woman on Prednisone sign instead of your wreath. ha ha Here’s my P. story. I had to take really BIG doses during the radiation, and my dear health team didn’t explain WHY I shouldn’t wash my face, they just casually said not to. So since I always washed my face before bed after two weeks I did; only to discover all the top layer of my face came off on my washcloth. Moral to this story is radiation and washing do not mix. Hopefully things have changed by now on that.
Here’s a Neal story. I ordered the Traveling Gnome several years ago when the Q had the one they use for the Travelocity commercials. He is full size and identical. Well, I gave him to neal and he used to take him on vacation with him and always make a picture of him and the Gnome in the vacation photo. Neal had it for a joke when he and Sarah got married on the beach in Destin Fla. and the night of their honeymoon, Neal told us Sarah said the Gnome had to spend the night on the balcony; that this vacation was “R rated” ha ha They have a photo of them and the gnome on the beach while they were there. I thought it was a cute story. He stays home with the old folks now. I think I need to bring him down and mabey Jerry will get the idea.
It is still so hot and humid down South. But no storms for the last couple of days. Hope everyone is having good weather. It is usually very hot for the 4th of July.I worry so much about people not watching their children for the fireworks; since so many people do them in this area even though you are not supposed to, only the ones that are planned programs. I bet you all have some really beautiful firework shows in your areas. The children just love all the bright lights and noise.
I went with Jerry to visit my MIL today and I noticed that she is having episodes of twitching. I called attention of it to the nurse and it looks to me like a neurological disorder like Parkinsons or possibly the side effect of one of her meds, which is what I am hoping for and not something bad. But it is definitely something new, and we will stay on top of it. She acted just fine before today. So we will see.
Better close for now, getting late. Everyone stay well, and take care. Barbara

      HI Ladies,
I don’t know if you got my post on Messenger yet, but I have a new fur baby. Well, almost. Hallie sent me a couple pics of this adorable white kitty. She’s 6 yrs old, was found homeless by a couple who had a dog, which she didn’t like. Sounds familiar. It sounds like she’s a one person kitty. We go pick her up tomorrow afternoon. Hallie knows this man that runs a rescue place. She was sending me pics of other kitties, then she sent me the pics of Snowball. IT was love at first sight, for me. I’ll keep ya posted as to what transpires tomorrow. It feels like Devine intervention.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but we had a doozy of a thunderstorm today. It started elsewhere & moved up the valley. Lots of people are without power tonight. Luckily I’m not. I saw so many lightning strikes it was unbelievable. We had heavy rain, hail, & lots of storm damage around the area, & up & down the valley. It started as a lovely day, but by evening the sky started getting dark & darker. IT was looking pretty scary it was so dark. I’ve never seen so many lightning strikes.
Well, I’m gonna sign off but I’ll keep ya posted on my new roommate.

      Hey Missy Barbara
well, I think I pooped myself out, even with the P medicine. I stayed in ed a little to watch MSNBC’s Morning Joe to hear their opinion of the debate. I like Joe and Mika. They are very up-beat, and cute together.
We watched the entire debate. I was impressed with the woman from Hawaii, who is a veteran. Wow. If she can gain some steam, she will be a contender, or should be. Of that group, my favorites are Warren, Booker, Castro, and the Veteran form Hawaii- can’t remember her name. On to tonight’s crew…..way too many people running.
My gnome is still not here. Ill have to call again, to see where he is. Last week, even though my screen said he was delivered, the Q said he was involved in a train derailment in the middle of the country.
Here is the yard report form yesterday……3 crazy baby bunnies were darting all over the yard, chasing each other, and wreaking havoc. They knocked over one big bunny, and one duck. So, this am, Mummy bunny could not sleep in her favorite spot– right under the big duck, as the smaller duck was in the way, on his side, with his feet in the air. I think Mummy bunny grounded the 3 children, as I have not seen them yet.
I will add an extra prayer for Jerry’s Mom. Do you think they added a med to her mix, so she will present concerning symptoms so they can bill more for her care? Maybe I am watching too many crime shows….maybe check her meds, just in case. I know with your skills, you could see that in a second. They are so lucky to have you.
That is awful about your face when you had the treatments and P medicine. I am so glad you are done with all of that.
That is a really funny story about your Gnome. I may never see mine….LOL Ill let you know what the Q says now. It looks like the cool solar light I ordered that was on sale is coming today. I can’t wait to get that one out there.
It is hot here, and humid. But, I bet our temps are cool to you. I hope you can at least sit outside for a bit. So disappointing when it is summer, and too hot to sit out.
We watch the fireworks on the Charles river, at the Hatch shell. They always have a good show, with the Boston Symphony Orchestra playing, and other musical guests. Of course, we watch it form the comfort of our recliners…..LOL can you get the show on your TV??
Hope your weather is a little cooler today.

      OMG DD!!!!!!
I am not very good on messenger. I thought I saw your posts, but maybe not all. Sometimes I cannot see the things you send, as it says the post was removed by someone. We will all be waiting to see your pics of your new fur baby. I know the kitty will be much happier with you. What a wonderful Forth of July present- for you and kitty.
So glad you did not have any damage from that storm. I have not seen the new yet today- missed the am news. I hope to see the noontime news. I know they are predicting some thunderstorms between today and tomorrow- I think.
I can’t tell you how excited I am for you. I hope you get the kitty today!!!! this is a good news day!
      Go DD!!!!
By the way, I hope Sue is ok, as we have not heard much from her this week.
Have a great new kitty day!

      Hi DD,
I’m so happy that you found Snowball. It will be an exciting day in your household.
I didn’t hear about the storms by you but I usually watch the local news so that might be why.

      Hi Ladies,
I was supposed to go see my new fur baby, but Hallie hasn’t heard back from him yet. In case any of you haven’t seen the pics I sent last night, I forwarded
them to my friends on my FB page.
We’re in for more thunderstorms later today. According to the news there were over 1200 lightning strikes last night. That’s ALOT for us. It’s pretty dark out there right now. End of June & I turned on the heat again today.
      Well, I’ll go for now.

      Hi Barbara,
I hope the change in your MIL is nothing to worry about. She’s lucky that she has you and Jerry to advocate for her.
We have a whole series of Holiday movies that we watch each December. I remember I would always wait to watch National Lampoon’s christmas Vacation until Brent came home from college. that was our little tradition.
We don’t win much at the casino either, but we like to go a few times a year. Although Greg did win when we were in Vegas. It’s funny when we were there i never even played the slots I just wasn’t interested-I was more interested in seeing the shows. Now if we went I would play though. It’s got to be 15 years since we went now. Time passes so quickly. When we went we stayed at Mandalay Bay and now after that horrific shooting I wouldn’t stay there. I wonder if they have lost a lot of business since then. I’m surprised they didn’t tear it down and build something new. They do that frequently out there.
My sister and her friends used to have some sort of rag doll that they took on trips and took pictures of her doing various things.
My daughters friend and her mother often travel and they always take pictures of themselves on the luggage cart from the hotel. So one time Greg and I were being smart and we did the same thing and posted it and of course they commented right away. lol
We used to put on a fire works display in our yard at our old house. Greg and Brent would buy all sorts of fireworks and the neighbors would come over with their lawn chairs and their wine and beer and we used to watch the display right in our own yard. It got to be a regular event-and then most of us moved out of the neighborhood.

      Hi Adele,
So I am going to be really extra nice today so you don’t yell at me in a roid rage! lol
It’s so weird that the prednisone helps with the pain but it causes so many other issues. I hope I never have to take the large amount that I took when they thought I had that eye disease a couple of years ago. I don’t mind the short term ones where you start off with a bunch of pills and then taper down right away-those don’t seem to affect me much-other than helping the pain. Brent gets gout too sometimes.
His birthday is Sunday so we will probably talk to him then and get caught up on his health developments. Hopefully all will be well.
      Can’t believe it’s almost July.
I must say I am not watching the debates this early in the game. It’s too bad that the election season ends up being almost two years long. I think that the public is tired of hearing about it by the time the election actually occurs.
No plans for the 4th as of right now. Many years we are up north over the 4th but this year we are going up later in July. I actually like that better as when we go up over the 4th everything is very crowded as it’s in a tourist area.
I did order a couple of cute patriotic porch decorations from Etsy so I am waiting for them to arrive. I will keep all that stuff out there until after Labor Day. Right now I am kind of obsessed with Etsy. You can find so many cute things on there. I found the most wonderful barrettes to pin up my hair with.
So they are starting CIJ this Sunday on the Q and next Friday will be a gem day so I have a feeling I may be able to find an anniversary gift that day. lol

      Hey DD!
I am sorry you are getting those scary storms. I hope you will not lose your electricity.
Maybe it is a good thing not to bring the kitty home on a stormy night, and wait until tomorrow. You would want the best first night experience, so kitty will not be scared in her new home.
I will go on facebook and see if I can find the pics.
      Please have a safe night.

      hey Gailster
No worries, the temperament is more relaxed today….LOL
So, guess who arrived at the door today- the Gnome. He has been everywhere. Heather put him out in the yard, and also did the Patriotic ribbons on the duck’s necks. She had to get 2 ducks back up, from the bunnies knocking them over, and one of the bunnies too.
I ordered a couple of signs from Etsy- the inspirational ones. One for Steph and one for Amanda’s birthdays. Also ordered the little Christmas trees form the Q- the ones that are like the old ones we made in ceramics. So far, that is all. Love the CIJ shows.
I hope you get good news on Brent, and that he has a good birthday.
Also hope you find a very sparkly item for your anniversary. I know you always find something you will love.
So, the flag leggings arrived today from Amazon. I got a 3x, and they look like a large. This ought to be real funny. The stars will be all out of shape….LOL Bobby said it is disrespectful to put the flag on my _ _ _ …..LOL My neighbor said she could not wait to see them on me. (she won’t be here for July 4th- going camping) At least the shirt is longer, so it will hide the who ha….LOL I am all into the red, white and blue this year.
I will definitely have one of the kids take my pic.
Hope you have a good night. I hope to watch the debate again tonight.

Another hot one here today, and expecting thunderstorms late tonight. Jerry is on his computer reading me all kinds of things about gutter helmets, some kind of ratchet whatever that is and I guess you could say, I am not paying much attention. He has good intentions, but I am about as interested in spending more money on this house (unless heaven forbid something goes caput) as I am just burning money. I know if we ever go to sell our home that we will have to do things; because our home is over 30 years old, and people just don’t want decades old fixtures, sinks, faucets, etc. but unless necessary I don’t want to do it now. I found some old photos yesterday, and realized that we have the same sofa and lots of other things. But it looks okay. Things are so different than I thought they would be at this point. But I know they are for most of us.
I am so happy your Gnome arrived Adele. He can join right in with the ducks and bunnies. At a house around the corner lives an older couple and they must watch their grands because we see little ones there with them all the time. Well, they have real ducks, and they just waddle around the yard, and they have a duck crossing sign by the road and they will waddle across the road and go visit this little dog across the road. I am always afraid someone will not see them, but so far I think they have been ok. They have their own little house and it is fenced in so I am sure they are safe at night, but they are so cute. One of our neighbours also literally rescues pigs, and she was featured in a magazine and on TV here recently. She is a vegetarian, and an animal rights activist. I went by one day and there were about 15 little bitty pigs just running behind their mama. I stopped and let the lady know they were loose, and one of the little pigs just came running to me and wanted to be petted . It was so cute. I told Jerry when I got home, and he said PLEASE say you didn’t bring one home! I said no, but I was so wanting too. It was darling. I bet you have seen little pigs, Colleen. I know your grands would love to play with them. That was a great idea to get a pool for them.
Gail, jerry and I still do our reading at night, but we got lazy. We now do audible for about 30 minutes or so. I was having trouble seeing the words, and it was just putting him to sleep. But so far we are managing to stay awake with this. We also play a game of Solataire on my I Pad each night. He finishes my moves if I don’t make it quickly enough, and that leads to a discussion about impatience, but we both enjoy it. Now, I cannot honestly say that one if not both of us don’t fall asleep in our chair at night watching something on TV. lol Thanks for the heads up on the Q schedule. You know, this sounds so petty, but I do miss some of the hosts that are gone, and some of the ones on now just grate on me. They just seem to think they are so pretty, skinny, dare I say “hot”, I know I am being petty, so just look over me. I really don’t care if they wear an extra extra extra small. So Adele, wear your stars with pride. One of my DILs sent me some leggings from that brand they sell from I think their home or mabey online, and I literally squeezed myself in, wore one of my long tunic tops and went right on and the only reason I took them off was due to cutting off my breath and hurting my waist (or where I think a waist is). And if Caroline G is a XL so am I. She seems so nice, and I sound so awful. Rant over. Sorry
DD, I am so happy for you and even happier for the lucky lady coming into your loving home. Can’t wait for you all to begin your time together.
Better go for now. I will try to act better next time. Have a great evening. Pizza for us tonight. Yea hugs, Barbara

      Hi Ladies,
The thunderstorms are gone & the weather is clearing up. It’s cloudy, but it’s warming up. At least the sun is out again. It sounds like the 4th is gonna be nice for a change. they say we had 4000 lightning strikes between Ore. & Wa. the other day. They showed a map & it was lit up like a Christmas tree with the images of the strikes.

I go get my new roommate later this evening. I’m so excited to get her. I was supposed to go to the beach today with Hallie & her family, but they hit a snag, so hopefully Monday.
I’m sure all of you know CIJ starts this weekend with VPH TSV. They are beautiful!! David had a preview of it on his Down Home show last night. I’d love to get a set or two of those little ceramic trees in pink & silver. But it’s only a matter or $$$. Minor detail. lol
Hey Adele, how’s the gout? I hope it’s all gone by now. Flag leggings? Must be something I missed. I’ve seen tops with flag decorations but not pants.
I guess that’s all for now

      Hey Barbara
Your stories are so funny.I can visualize you and Jerry playing your games, and listening to your books. that would never work with Gary- he has no inklings to play any games. I wish he would, as it would be fun.
Your neighbors sound like a hoot and a half. I would have been hard pressed not to take a little piggy home too! Gary would have let me sleep outside with the pig. My Nonna had some ducks, or geese, in the yard at one point. She had to give them away as they were nasty. THAT I remember.
Marissa is coming over tomorrow with Luna, and that is the closest I get to a puppy in here.
Well, Heather put the ribbons on the duck’s necks for me today- I took a couple of pics, and will send them along. She hid the Gnome in the back garden. I have to find him, she said. She said that is what you are supposed to do with him- hide him. I honestly never heard that!
On the 4th, i have to remember not to take a fluid pill or I will be in trouble. Gary may have to cut the pants off me….LOL I am going to try my hardest to get my fat butt in them. Gary thinks it is a riot. Why do they make them so snug??
I hate to say it too, but I miss all the old hosts. Those real young ones have no experience in household items, for God’s sake. i will be watching the Christmas shows, on and off too. I hope they have some new things, as i have gifted just about every cool thing they ever got in already.
Well, I have to read the rest of the posts, so I better get a move on….LOL
      Adele
PS hope you do nto get any bad storm!

      Hey DD!
So happy you have the kitty home by now!! I can imagine how thrilled you are right now. We will all be waiting to see the pics you take tonight. Go DD!!!
My friend told me the Christmas movies were on all day on Hallmark- we had no idea!! We will be watching the next one that starts at 8.
I am so glad you did not have any lightning strikes near you. We are supposed to get some real ugly storms over the weekend. I think they are coming from your area….LOL
The boys are coming with Heather tomorrow- I hope they get some time to swim, before the rain starts.
The gout pain is all gone. I am very hot form the prednisone, but, that is ok. It has done miracles to the shoulder. I wish the shoulder was like this all the time. i am going to talk to my doctor, and arthritis doctor about a very small dose of this daily, to hello with the shoulder. We will see. Both doctors want to see me because of the recent attack- one before the 4th, and one after the 4th. Ill let you know.
I can see you smiling form here, with your beautiful new kitty!!!!!!!

      Hi Ladies,
Well I got her home today!! I haven’t named her yet. I’ll be sending the pics I took of her tonight. She seems to be comfortable here. She’s explored the place several times. And she’s even taken a nap. she’s a small kitty. She needs a tooth taken out but I can’t afford it right now. They want almost $500 for a tooth extraction!! She’s jumped upon my lap a couple of times already then explored the area surrounding the sofa. It’s gonna be interesting at bedtime tonight.
I’m glad I have her now. I wasn’t sure if I’d get another cat right away or not, but when I saw her I had to have her. I told Hallie I’ll know her when I see her. And sure enough Hallie sent me the 2 pics I tried sending earlier, & that was that.
Well, that’s my news for today.
      Have a great weekend everybody.
      I’ll be preoccupied. LOL
