Wow! Where has the time gone. It’s already July.
DD I hope you are managing the heat okay.
Adele how are you?
Colleen any plans for the weekend?
Yesterday was Brent’s 40th. He said they went away to a casino for a couple of days to celebrate.
Looking forward to visiting him in the fall.
Tomorrow we are going to this really fancy place to celebrate our anniversary.
Next Friday we are going to a wedding and Jenny is going to one the following day.
I really lucked out as I don’t have an appointment for hair color until August but Emillee had a cancellation so she called me and I went in today for a color and she had another cancellation so I was able to get a color and a hilight all in one day. The Gods were smiling at me today. So now I will have my hair colored for dinner, the wedding and going up north. So I am a happy camper.
It has been so nice just getting out in the evenings to watch the baseball games. Who knew such a little thing could bring such delight but after staying home for a year everything is fun!
We are going to Jenny’s for a cook out on Sunday.
I have to get someone in to look at my new washing machine because for no reason a motor in it will just start up. So I have been unplugging it between uses-but that just should not be happening.
Greg has another golf outing on Saturday. There is also a food truck thing going on in town that day so maybe we will go over at night and sample some food.

Hi Gail,
Well that was weird. I do not have any idea why that posted like it did. Well here is the rest of the post. My computer is really getting weird. It does some strange things here lately.
We are going to the July 4th parade on Saturday and then the carnival. We may take Grayson and Kylie with us. Sunday we will grill but it will just be me and Ron. Then we will go and see the fire works that night. We can sit at my grand kids house and watch. They live on the street behind the field where they set the fire works off. So it will be a long week-end.
I hope that you and Gary have a good anniversary. Is this a new restaurant? I cannot remember if you said or not. It will be nice. We have got a few new restaurants here. We went to one and they had good food but it is mostly sandwiches.
You really lucked out on getting your hair colored. To get it highlighted also is a real break. It seems like all the beauticians are really busy because of covid.
That is terrible about the new washer. I wonder what is causing it to start running when you are not using it. I hope they can fix it and it does not take forever for them to fix it.

Ho Gailster and Colleen…. and DD too….
First of all. Happy 4th of July!!!
It is gross up here. Been raining for three days. We had huge thunderstorms but had no damage. Thank God! It went from 100 to the high 50’s but still that awful humidity
We are planning on a bbq. But the weather is not cooperating. I have chicken wings marinating in the Good Seasons dressing. I make them in the oven so the rain won’t matter. I bake them then broil them in the end to get crispy
Steph wants Pesto , so I’ll make that too. And, of course we have corn. Bobby will get the meats he wants to make fresh cause he hates frozen bbq meats. Lol
Marissa is goin to a party and Amsnda is with the boyfriend
I’m dying to see the Pops and fireworks on TV. I hope the rain does not ruin it
Everyone up here is sore from the weather snd humidity. Sucks getting old….. lol. Lol
Also looking forward to CIJ. I hope they have something cool for the boys.!!

Hi Adele,
The heat is not as bad to handle if the humidity is low. I think the humidity really makes it hot and hard to breath. We are supposed to have a nice day tomorrow. I am glad that you did not have any damage from the storms.
The food that you are fixing sounds really good. The wings sound really good. I have never made them that way. I will have to try it. I bet Ron and the kids will like them also. I use to make hot wings all the time but have not done that since the kids all moved out. We got some ribs from Corkys, brats and pork steaks from the store. The ribs are from QVC. We are going to have corn on the cob but do not know what else to fix. It is just going to be Ron and me to eat. We will have enough left overs for the whole week. ONce Ron gets started he can’t stop buying meat to grill.
We are going into town to watch the fireworks. That will be about all we will do.
I hope they have better CIJ things this year. I was a little disappointed last year. We found out that Brook is having a girl but still do not have a due date. She won’t have one until she sees the doctor. This is taking forever to figure out.

Hi Colleen
It’s almost 11:30 and the kids just left a few minutes ago. Steph and her family were here. Marissa stopped by for a minute to give Steph sparklers for the kids Santino is still sick. He is very stuffy. Marissa snd Rnzo stayed home with him.
My neighbor came by for a while with her mother and son. Her son played chess with JJ. She had the hat on I gave her after Heather died. It was for her birthday and she died before her birthday. It’s a hat with a glitter flag in the visor. Heather loved those hats. It looked good on my neighbor and I’m glad she wears it. It made me cry just a little.
I’m glad you and Ron got to go see fireworks. We watched them on TV.
We played Texas Holdum with the kids. Steph brought the games. It was fun.
That is great you are having a girl. I am so happy for all of you!!! What a nice Christmas present for all of you !!! Congrats!!!!
Happy 4th!!!! Thank God we all got to celebrate. Thank God. I hope it stays this way

Hi Adele,
We did not have anyone here yesterday. We grilled for just us. It was really kind of nice not having to do all that cooking. This will be the only time that we will not have kids here. We did go to the festival Saturday with Kylie and Grayson. We had a really good day. Grayson was wearing a pair of sunglasses that they gave him when he watched the parade. I couldn’t believe he wore them for as long as he did. We walked around and went to the different booths and then we got some lunch. Grayson ate french fries and chocolate ice cream. That was all we could get him to eat. It was just a fun day.
We ended watching the fire works on tv. They were on Sunday and we did not feel like going back up there. That was nice she wore the hat you gave her. It was good that you just cried a little and did not let it ruin your day.

Hi Everyone,
It sounds like you all had a good fourth.
Adele, I’m glad that your friend wore that hat.
Colleen, so now there will be a great grand daughter too. Hooray!
Poor Jenny, right before we went over yesterday her AC went out. Greg looked at it and thinks her motor is burned out. So they ordered another one and he will put it in when it comes which won’t be until later in the week. they looked for the place with the quickest shipping. some places wouldn’t ship for 6 to 8 weeks. So I hope they are not too miserable. I imagine they will go to the pool or go to their cousin’s and swim.
We had a good time yesterday. We barbecued hamburgers and brats. I made a couple of salads and we had watermelon. I made a new dessert called Brownie Oreo Lush and it was decadent and yummy. The kids were back and forth to their cousins at first because their cousins from Washington were in town too. it makes me kind of sad that everyone is over at Aaron and Kelly’s celebrating except for Jenny because she is divorced and not technically part of that family anymore. But that’s how things are.
We stayed until dark and they set off some smaller fireworks. The kids liked that.
Years ago Greg used to get lots of fireworks and everyone in our neighbor hood used to come and bring their lawn chairs and watch his display. Those were fun times. We stopped doing that a while ago though.
Friday night we went out for our anniversary dinner and the place was everything I imagined and more. It was such a special night. They print out your menu with your name on the top and because it was an anniversary they have flowers on the table that you can take home.
It’s a French restaurant with a prix fixe five course menu. Each plate looked like a total work of art in itself. I wish I had taken pictures. if I was a 20 year old I would have. lol My old brain just doesn’t work that way.
When we were leaving the restaurant a nearby town was setting off fireworks over the lake and we could see the beautiful display as we were driving down a big hill. it was like it was meant just for us. lol
Greg is golfing league tonight but when he comes home he will be cooking ribs and corn on the cob and watermelon. (not cooking the watermelon) lol

I know how you feel. Sometimes it’s nice not to have the huge prep and huge clean up
We always watch the fireworks on TV. We have not gone out to see them in a decade! Lol
Stephanie will be 31 on Wednesday. It will be a hard day because of how much she misses her mother
Starting tomorrow our weather will be awful agin. Heat humidity and storms. Remnants of the hurricane for end of week

Hi Gail,
That is a long time to be without air conditioning. I hope the part comes in sooner then they think. It is just too hot to be without it. It is good they have a place to go swimming so they can stay cool. Do they have fans? It would be nice to help them sleep at night.
Jenny is lucky that she had you and Greg there so she would not be alone. Is she still with her boyfriend? I think that it is just as hard on the parents of the divorced kids. We have to watch them go thru doing things without their kids because they are with the other parent. It use to really break my heart when Justin would take Owen on holidays and she would have to be by herself. We were lucky she could come here and be with us and her nieces and nephews
The place where you went for dinner sounds really nice. I am so glad that you found that place. I cannot imagine how cool that was to at the top of the hill seeing all those fire works. It sounds like it was just meant to happen at that time. I am with Gail we need all the details.

Hi Adele,
That makes a person feel old when their grand kids get that old. My grands are still kind of young. Except one of them is in their twenties and her sister will turn twenty. That really makes me feel old and now with the great grands.
Are you going to have a dinner for Steph’s birthday? What is her favorite cake? You always do nice things for everyone in your family. I am sure you will help her get thru this. She is always going to have to remember that she has those two boys to care for.
Wasn’t that a cool place that Gail and Greg found for their anniversary dinner? What a great night they had.

HI Ladies,
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I had a pleasant one. Didn’t do anything special. I cooked dinner for me & Critt on Sunday. I made potato salad & steaks, & asparagus.
Our weather has cooled down quite a bit from that horrible heat we had just last weekend. It seems like a lifetime away, but it was just a few days ago. My bedroom has cooled waaaay down from the 110 it was. I never dreamed 90F would be “cooler” temp!!
We did lose a resident. I knew her, but wasn’t a close friend or anything. She would sit down in the lobby talking to herself most of the time. Or picking a fight with someone who didn’t agree with whatever she was talking about. We lost a Vietnam vet just down the hall from me about a month ago. He went to the hospital & never returned. I heard we lost some others, but don’t know for sure. Oregon lost more than 100 souls during that heatwave. Most were men, & living alone. There were cooling centers for people to go to if they didn’t have AC or any way to cool off. We’re just lucky we have the community room that’s air conditioned & it’s been left open 24 hrs a day. I packed up Snowball & a few items & spent alot of time down there. I came thisclose to taking her down there that night but I was afraid I’d get into trouble. You’re not supposed to sleep down there. But I was talking to the manager & he said under those conditions he wouldn’t care. It was brutally hot! If I’m repeating myself, just ignore it. I think my brain got fried. We could use some of that rain that’s coming down out there!!!
OK, I know somebody in the group blogs or reads them. I have no clue how to get on the Q blog. What I’m trying to get at is as of July 1st I lost my antenna channel that carried the Q. In fact, I also lost HSN channel as well. I don’t know who did this but now I can’t watch it. They put in 2 new channels, Defy, an all men’s programming, & TruReal, not sure what all is on there. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! I know I’ve been complaining about how boring it’s been, but there are times I just have it on for background noise. If anyone knows how to get on the Q blog, let me know or if you’ve read anything about this, let me know.
I wrote out a post a couple days ago & it vanished into thin air AGAIN!!
OH, I got a couple cute stories about Snowball. Last week I woke up to a paw on my face, then feeling her whiskers on my face. Then a couple days ago she actually laid down beside me & took our afternoon nap. She’s getting to where she gets up on my lap now, or lay down beside me on the bed. She’s become my little white shadow. She gets her haircut FINALLY this week. Between the heatwave, their problems with their van, it”s been frustrating!!
I haven’t read your posts yet, so forgive me if I missed something important!

Hi DD,
It really has been hot there. I am glad that you had a place to go to cool down. You should have gone to sleep in there and stayed cool all night. Your manager sounds like he is a nice man. He understands that not everyone can stand the heat and need a cool place to sleep.
Your meal sounds really good. It was nice that Critt could eat dinner with you. It is nice that you have a friend to spend holidays with. It is not fun to be alone for everything. I am sorry to hear about the people that have died in you building. It is sad to lose that many people.
Snowball is such good company for you. That is cute that she is getting closer to you. I wonder what she will think about getting her hair cut. It would be nice if she would be happy with getting her hair cut and not get mad about it.
I really like all the pictures you posted. The flowers are so pretty purple butterflies on them. You always find such good pictures to post on here. Gail will like the picture of the butterfly. It really is colorful.
It has been hot here but not as bad as where you are. We have had some rain and our garden is looking really good. We have a lot of zucchini and hot peppers. He always plants too many hot peppers.

For about 30 minutes yesterday I had all 3 girls in the same room. Amanda was home , Steph was here helping Tillie shower and Marissa stopped by as she was out on an errand when Enzo got home. We had a cup of tea together while Marissa said s quick hello. Thad girls discussed when we’d all be together to celebrate Stephs birthday. Seems like no day we would have all of them together!!
Thst was a cool place Gail snd Greg went to!!

Our channels have done weird things too QVC changed its channel all of a sudden. I’m glad I can talk to my remote to find it!!
Also during all these storms up here our Tv keeps freezing. It went in and out yesterday during all the storms. Gary was getting aggravated as you could not change channels.
That is so nice your kitty is becoming your good buddy. It’s so nice to have a cuddly pet
I hope the intense heat stays away from your state. That was worst than awful

Hi Ladies,
You wouldn’t believe the weather here today. Heavy cloud cover & not in the 70s!! I actually had to get an extra blanket last night. It sure feels good & refreshing. They were calling for upper 80s/low 90s all week, but Mother Nature had other ideas for today at least. YaaaaaaaaaY!!!
I learned yesterday Critt went to the hospital Monday with diverticulitis (?). I was leaving when a nurse was leaving his apt. We struck up a conversation & that’s when I found out. He’s on a STRICT diet for the next 2 weeks. No solid foods just clear liquids, jello, juices, etc. Next week he can add fruit to the jello. So I get a vacation of sorts.
I can still catch the Q on my Amazon Fire TV, I forgot that. But I have to shut down my regular channels in order to tune into it. Oh well.
I have an appointment I need to get to so I’m signing off for now.

Hi DD,
I hope Critt feels better soon. They diagnosed Greg with that once but we think it was really something else. Plus they gave him an antibiotic that he ended up being allergic to.
I’m glad Snowball is warming up to you. I guess she’s decided that she is there to stay so she better make the best of it.
No one on the Q forums has mentioned losing the Q channel and I don’t know who your provider was. A lot of people on there say they don’t even watch the Q anyway. I remember years ago I always had it on for background. Now I just copy the shows and flip through them.
They’ve been talking more about their problems signing in or signing out. When I go on lately I am already signed in even though I signed out when I left. They are always having problems with that site especially the forums. I don’t normally sign n when I just want to read the posts as I don’t like the way it is formatted when you are signed in. It’s easier for me to read not signed in.
It’s easy to get to. Just scroll down to the bottom of the main page where all the little categories are written and click on blogs and forums and go to forums and you can read all the different discussions. I must admit that’s where I get my memes.

Hi Adele,
Will you be getting fallout from the tropical storm?
Boy it changed from 90’s to 70’s really quickly here.
Yesterday Biden was in a town about 40 minutes away from here. Someone from our high school was introducing him before his speech.
The restaurant we went to has a very small prix fixe menu. The night we were there they had a five course meal. Each of the courses had two choices. It was weird Greg ordered the exact opposite of me so if we wanted we could taste each other’s stuff.
I actually wore a dress. probably for the first time in three years. I’m actually wearing another dress tomorrow as we are going into the city to a wedding. It will be nice as we will see Greg’s bother and sister again.
Well-it wasn’t the motor that was bad on the AC unit. Greg thinks it’s the capacitor and we have a part ordered from Amazon which will hopefully get here today. It’s so much cooler now though the AC isn’t even running. it rained a lot yesterday and the temps dropped.
I’m glad that Steph had an easier time than expected. Even though it hurts we all have learned that life does go on and I know the person that we lose would never want us to miss out on the joy of our own lives because they are gone. It’s not an easy lesson to learn but it always made me feel better to think that I was living and doing things “for” them. When I lost my folks it helped to go forward because of the kids and I hope Steph’s kids remind her to look forward.

Hi Colleen,
Yes, Jenny is still with her boyfriend. He basically lives there now. I think that’s how things will stay for awhile and i think it’s best. I told her at this point there is no reason to rush into anything more permanent. Gosh our parents would be turning over in their graves if they knew we were encouraging our kids NOT to get married again. lol I just figure I think she kind of rushed things the first time and she is perfectly able of caring for herself so why tie herself down until she is sure this is going to be long term. Divorces are too messy. He’s a nice guy and she still seems to do a lot of things independently so I guess it’s a modern relationship or something.
They do have fans and now they don’t need them as the weather has cooled. Greg put the new motor in and discovered it’s the capacitor so now we have that ordered. he knew it was either one or the other but just chose wrong.
We are going to a wedding tomorrow and Jenny is going to one Saturday. it’s a wedding weekend! lol

Have a great time at the wedding. Take pics so we can see how pretty the bride looks! I love wedding dresses
I am so grateful Steph did ok. Also for all three of them being together for that blissful half hour. It was so nice to see I said many prayers of thanks…. Lol
We are in a wet disaster up here. Huge thunderstorms every day and now this hurricane. Tonight more thunderstorms They will start shortly. We got a huge one at 5:00am. Torrential rain and lots of thunder
They are saying we will have high winds, thunderstorms within the hurricane, and more rain. We went from a drought to a monsoon
Steph still did not get the remaining rose bushes planted. I had to rescue the Hostas. The bunny was having a breakfast buffet every morning. I saw him on the security camera. There is a tiny twig coming out of each plant…. Six of them. He ate all the leaves. So, I put the Hostas up on the deck on the table. They will remain there until the Hostas grow again. Then they will be planted, and wire fencing put all around them until they get a little bigger. Lol
I hope the part comes so Greg can get all installed before it gets hot again!!!
I did hear Biden was in your state. What’s up with people not getting the shot? Steph won’t get the shot. She bought into the propaganda of the shot not being out long enough to know all the side affects. I’d be more scared of the covid side affects. I just don’t get it.
Have a great time tomorrow…… will you wear a mask because of all of the unvaccinated people?

Hi Ladies,
It’s been lovely this week, cloudy mornings, sunny afternoons. We’re gonna warm up to the 80s, & maybe low 90s. I heard there’s gonna be a warm up, but not like the bubble we had last week. I haven’t seen Critt today. I’m hoping to see him later today.
Snowball got her haircut today. She’s been uneasy all afternoon. I think she’s calming down now. Jewell did the same thing. It took her a couple days to get used to it. But when it gets hot she’ll be glad.

Hi DD,
It’s not really blogging as the place where all the discussions are is just like coming on here. You don’t have to sign in if you just want to read the discussions-only if you want to write something. I read more than I write over there but I do comment if i have something to say about a topic.
The actual blogs are boring. They’re all about different contests now. It used to be the hosts would write blogs but I think they do everything over on Facebook and Instagram now and I am not on either of those things.

Hi Adele,
I always forget to take pictures as I get wrapped up in the events.
I love wedding dresses too. I would have made a good wedding planner as I like planning the details of events. It’s funny now that I think about it because my high school choir teacher must have recognized that I had some skills with that as he always asked me to plan the “after musical” parties back then.
I doubt we will wear masks as my SIL said most of the guests will have been vaccinated.
This is a second marriage for her husband’s daughter. The bride has four daughters herself-2 high school and two college. I think they are all in the wedding party. My SIL said that the bride is wearing a traditional long white gown so we will see.
My SIL is wearing a long gown. She is not the mother of the bride though. She has no children herself. Her first husband was much older with a grown family and her present husband’s wife had died several years before she met him.
I don’t know why all these people are so vaccine hesitant. They aren’t listening to the real science behind it.
I know Jenny isn’t vaccinated and I doubt that Brent is. I am much more afraid of covid than I am of the shot.
I said my piece to Jenny last week and I said I wouldn’t mention it or nag her again so now I have to keep my word. I feel like if a parent gets vaccinated they are protecting their kids who can’t get vaccinated yet. I don’t know how else to appeal to them. Yet she was the one nagging me and Greg to get it. I worry that they think they are invincible and i hope that they don’t unfortunately learn different by getting sick. They say the majority of hospitalizations now are between 18 and 40. So young people can still get sick. I wish I could make them. Plus the more people who are vaccinated there will be less spread of covid-that’s they only way to get rid of it permanently like small pox.

We got the remnants from the hurricane today. Pouring rain all day and high winds and humidity to make you vomit! Now the sun came out. Still humid. I swear I will not be sitting outside all summer with all the humidity.

Hi Gail,
I know that is how my oldest daughter is. She goes away for week-ends and takes her kids and Kevin stays at home or goes somewhere else. She is going to Tennessee the end of July and he is not going with her then either. They did go to Colorado together to see his sister. I guess that is the only vacation he wants to go on. It could be his job also.
It is nice that the weather has cooled down enough that they do not need the air conditioner right now. Maybe Greg will get it fixed before the really hot weather is back again.
Hope you have a great time at the wedding. Did you get your hair done before you have to go? I know you were wanting to get get it dyed before you went to the wedding. it is hard to get into a lot of beauty shops.
I wish that I did not get the second shot. I have been having ll kinds of trouble since I had it. I have been sick more and having trouble of fluid on the ear. So it is irritating. I have talked to other people that are having the same problem I am since they got the second shot.

I know how you feel. It is nice when all the kids come to the house at the same time and laugh and talk. I know it is fun to see the girls together and acting like they did when they were young girls at home.
I hope the storms are stopping and you are getting cooler weather. know you will be glad for the rain to stop. I really wish we would get some rain. We have not had any this week so we really need it. The tropical storms hit really hard in some areas. If you do not live close to the ocean you get the rain and storms.
That is nice that Steph is watching Santino tomorrow. It is good that the girls help each other out like that. That is one good thing about having sisters. I know the girls help each other out when they can.
Are the boys enjoying their summer break? Do you know when they go back to school? Ours will go back sometime in August. We have not heard the exact date yet. It seems like their summer break gets shorter every year.

Snowball looks so skinny without all her hair. She is so cute. Has she gotten over getting her hair cut? She is such a good girl and she is getting use to being your cat and having a safe place to live.

Hi Adele,
Our kids always start in August but they always get out in May. They just have been starting earlier then they use to. They say it is because of the snow days that they give the kids. I do not really think that is the reason because they get out of school for the year on the same date every year.
We got some rain last night and a lot of it. It was raining again in the morning and we are supposed to get more tonight. We got our wish. We got some rain. Our garden looks really good since it has rained.
It is nice that Pina is gong to get to spend time with Santino. She will really miss him while she is gone. It will be different when she gets back. He will have changed a lot. At that age they change so much.
You must have gotten a lot of rain if the pool is over flowing. That is a mess when they get over full. We had that a couple of times and had to drain the pool. It was a smaller pool then you have so it was not as hard to drain.
Brook is doing really good. She has to go to the doctor this month. I hope she gets her due date then. Well that is about all from here. Have a great day and stay safe.

I am so glad Brook is doing well with her pregnancy. Does she know if it’s a girl or boy yet?
It poured again just a bit ago. It’s so humid it is gross up here We had storms then the remnant of the hurricane and now on and off rain for next few days. We will never get to plant the rest of the roses! I will never sit out on the deck either.
It’s an awful summer for sure. But look at what DD is dealing with….. extreme heat no rain and fires. That is worst
Did you get anything from the CIJ shows today? I got a couple things from Dave’s CIJ show. The nutcracker, candles and deer. I went a little nuts. Lol. We can’t decorate outside like we used to. But those QVC decorations that are battery operated for outside are perfect! Just sit them down and you are done. I’ll put the candies on either side of the door, next to the old nutcrackers I got two years ago. I have a big Santa and snowman I got last year that will go in front of the house to the left of the door. Then the deer will go in the lawn, also in front of the house That should make it pretty festive with little work. Lol

Brook is having a girl. We are happy that this baby is a girl we need a baby girl in the family. I hope after this one she will do something to keep from having another baby. She needs to stay away from this guy. He is just using her.
We had more rain this afternoon but not a lot. We are getting caught up from the last few rains that we have had. It really rained a lot for the last couple of days. We are in a rain pattern and will be in it for awhile. It is nice that the garden is really green and doing better.
I did not buy anything from the shows this time. I will keep watching and hope that I will find something for my sil’s. I usually like the things that I find for them. The things that you bought sound really nice. I like the battery operated decorations for the inside and out.

DD, How is Snowball adjusting to her haircut. Sometimes they do not like it at first.
Colleen, Greg did get the AC part in on Friday morning. It’s funny because now the weather is cooler but it is going to warm back up again midweek.
I too hope Brook decides to stay away from this guy in the future as it does not look like the relationship is going anywhere. Unfortunately sometimes we learn our lessons the hard way. By the same token he should be ashamed of himself as he just seems to use these girls and abandon them as i thought you said he also fathered a child with someone else. If I ran the world he wouldn’t be doing that with anyone else-I have no time or respect for a man like that. But I should probably just keep my big mouth shut. I just hate to see young girls take on all the work of supporting children with no help from the father. Those young woman are heroes who put their children first. I hope what i said didn’t make you mad but I just hate when people take advantage of others.
Our kids go back to school in August too. Jenny wants to take a little trip together before they go back so we will be looking for places that we can get away for a few days.
I actually did my own hair for the wedding. Greg’s sister and his brother’s wife both had they hair and make up done.
Adele, I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture of the bride. I turned my phone off during the ceremony and then I forgot about it.
The wedding was in a beautiful place with big high windows and stunning chandeliers.
The minister who officiated was quite the story teller. it was a second marriage for the bride who has four girls ranging from 13 to 20 who were all in the wedding party-the oldest being the maid of honor. It was the first marriage for the groom who is 14 years younger than the bride. All the girls get along well with the new husband but one is kind of a Daddy’s girl so she did shed some tears during the wedding. I am told that all divorced children harbor the wish in the back of their mind that someday their parents will reconcile so i guess she could see that fantasy coming to an end. I felt bad for her.
There was a violinist who played during the wedding and also he played during the dinner hour. he played a lot of hours. His fingers must have been tired at the end of the night. We were talking to him on our way out and he told us that his violin was made by his father.
The grooms parents came from Poland so there was a lot of Polish music and every table had a bottle of homemade vodka made by the grooms mother.
Anyway, it was a good time.
We all stayed in the city and met for breakfast at the hotel in the morning before leaving for home.

This is the worst summer I can remember. Gets depressing. We have been binge watching shows on Netflix. We’re are st the end of the Kiminsky method. It’s really good. You would like it. Older people can relate and laugh at themselves
That’s good you will have a girl. They are so much fun to dress and get stuff for. Way more things for girls than for boys. You have to really search for good boy stuff!!!

He has a little girl that is older then Grayson and he just had a new baby with another girl and he was dating a 16 year girl pregnant. If it was me I had a sixteen yr old daughter I would have him arrested for messing around with my daughter. He is in his middle twenties to late twenties. He is too old to be around these young girls. What you are thinking is a lot nicer then what I think. I better not say it was not nice,
I am so glad that Greg got the part for the air conditioner. I hope he can get it fixed quickly because the kids do not want to get rally hot when the temps go up higher. Jenny is lucky to have you and Greg living so close to her.
The wedding sounds really beautiful. I would have been like you. I would have turned my phone off and forgot to turn it back on. I miss a lot of good pictures that way. I also forget to charge my phone. My kids get mad at me because they try to call or e-mail me and they cannot get a hold of me. It is good we still have our home phone.
The grooms family took a lot of time making the vodka. I have never heard of home made vodka. It really sounds like everyone had a great time.

HI Ladies,
Gail, it sounds like the wedding was lovely. Sounds like everyone had a good time, esp with the home made vodka!!
What is it the cattle people do to the males if they don’t want them to become aggressive? Castrate??
So how’s the weather out there? We could use alot of that rain out here to put out the fires, & fill up the rivers & streams, lakes, etc.!! Why is it one side of the country is soggy & the other side bone dry. Make it tinder dry. It doesn’t take much for a fire to start. Look sideways & one starts. Of course there’s lightning that’s started em. Our biggest fire is down in the southern part of the state 300+ miles from me. Idaho, Eastern Oregon, & N. Ca. are getting the smoke right now. But nothing like we got last fall.
Our temps are back to what they should be now. Low 80s so far. No 90s or triple digits!! There was another “bubble” over Ca. over the weekend but we didn’t get any of it. We had alot of deaths due to the heat, & now they’re trying to figure out what went wrong besides EVERYTHING!! Most of the deaths were elderly & handicapped & couldn’t get out to the cooling centers. When they did the construction on this bldg back in 2015, they retrofitted the bldg for earthquakes, but didn’t do central air. Thank God for the community room! Now they’re rethinking the lack of AC in these older bldgs. If it ever does that again, they may have all residents move to other places. That’s just one option. Who knows.
Snowball is getting used to her new “do”. She’s so tiny once you remove all that fur!! Just like Jewell. Of course it hasn’t been as hot as a couple weeks ago.
Have any of you made a poke cake? I made a white cake yesterday, & am thinking of making it a poke cake with strawberry jello. I looked it up & it looks delish. Yes, it cooled down enough I was able to bake a cake & a few cookies. With the AC it didn’t take long to cool off. I hardly noticed it till I got close to the stove.

Hi Adele,
It seems like the hurricanes are early this year. Do they hit this bad in your area every year? It seems like it is always worse in the Florida are and along that coast. There are always storms around when there are hurricanes. sometimes they effect our weather. We will have tornados and bad wind storms. I cannot believe all the storms they cause.
I have never heard of the Kiminsky Method. We do not get Netflix because of where we live. We still cannot get wifi just broadband. So we miss out on lot of things. I do like being out away from all the traffic and people’s houses right on top of ours. I guess that is why everybody lives in different areas. We can’t all live in one place.
There are a lot of cute clothes for girls. It would be nice to be able to dolls for them. I hope this baby likes dolls. My other grand daughters were not that fond of dolls.

It has been so humid and raining every day up here. It will s early for a hurricane to reach all the way up here, even though it is hurricane season. I can only imagine how many we will end up getting!!
That’s awful that you can’t get Netflix. The Kominsky method is a story of two old friends and what happens to them in their old age. It was a great story with a ton of the older actors in it.
The sun just came out. But it won’t be out long Thunderstorms are on the way. Lol. Lol. I swear I all living in the African Rain Forest. Lol
The kids were coming to use the pool and it was all foggy earlier so just Marissa and the baby and one of the twins came to visit for a while. Santino was so funny. They did not stay long. I am glad they came.

I do not watch AGT. I do not think that they have enough good acts on there most of the time. We have been watching too many of the old shows and movies. Ron does not like most of the new programs now. The ones that i like Ron will not watch.
We have not been doing much. Kaylee was here and stayed with us for a couple of days. Then she went to Danyielle’s and stayed there for a couple of days and then she is going to her other grandma’s. Then she comes back here for a few days and then she will go home. She is staying here until the 28th of July. Danyielle is taking her home and staying there for a few days. That whole thing was kind of boring.

I tried the poke cake & it’s delish!! I used strawberry jello in a white cake. I guess you could use other flavors. I’m wondering how chocolate pudding would work.
Not much going on here. The wildfires are down in the southern part of Oregon, so we’re not getting the smoke from them, yet!! It seems like every day another fire breaks out somewhere. I guess there’s another one of those heat bubbles is gonna hit somewhere in the west, but not here, yet!!! There’s alot of summer left.

Hi Everyone, I have been sick so I haven’t been on for a while.
Last Tuesday Greg and I were cleaning the upstairs and I told him when I was done I was going to lay down as I wasn’t feeling good. (I thought it was just from the work) lol
When I woke up I had no voice and a bad cough. Well we were due to leave for up north on Thursday so the first thing I did was schedule a covid test. Well that turned out negative but I had to wait a day to get it. So I tried to get into the doctor but they were short handed and told me to go to immediate care which I did. They took xrays for possible pneumonia but it was bronchitis so they gave me an antibiotic. It took me until Sunday to stop running a fever though so we obviously had to cancel our trip. I am feeling better now but do still have a cough especially at night.
We are going on a little trip in a few weeks with Jenny and the kids. Not far. Just to get away for a little before the kids go back to school.
DD, my Mom always used to make poke cakes. I never liked them when I was a kid as I thought they made the cake too moist. Maybe I would like them now.
Colleen, I’m surprised no one has yet turned that guy in if he’s that old and is dating 16 year olds. I would turn him in myself if it was my daughter. If he’s having sex with girls that young it’s against the law but if no one stops him he’s going to continue to do it as long as he gets away with it.
You said you had Kaylee up-Is Melissa up too. She is probably keeping you busy.
Adele, we have been watching AGT. I think the acts are just as good this year. Maybe you are just getting bored with it.
Do you watch Making It? It’s a competition show about crafting. I think you would love it. We seem to be watching lots of game shows this summer.

It has been busy around here. Kaylee is staying here for awhile. She is going home the 28th of this month. It has been fun having her here. She is growing up. She does not act like a little kid any more.
Gail I am so sorry to hear that you were sick. I hope that you are feeling a lot better. Sorry to hear that it ruined your trip. It seems like it is harder to get away all the time.
This guy has parents that has a lot of friends. He has a lot of influence with the people in this town. That is the only bad thing about living in a small town they pick their favorites. People that have a little bit of money can get what they want. I wanted my daughter to turn him in. Brook was under age when he was coming around. I think that is why he has such a hold on her now.
I did not get the pictures that you sent. Is it a red fox? We get those around here. We have a lot of wooded area around here so it is a good breeding ground.
It is fun when you see sisters doing things together and having such a good time. I am sure that Heather did see them. She was looking down on them smiling and laughing along with them.
It is nice that the kids like the things that you are making. They make good gifts and all the family like what you make. They make good presents for all the kids young and old.

Ok, it sounds like we’re in for some more hot weather. We had a spell of cloudy mornings/sunny afternoons, just purrfect!! But now we’re in for another mini heatwave. No triple digit temps here. Probable Eastern Oregon will get the triple digit temps. Nothing like we had last month.
I also heard you guys are going to be under one of those heat bubbles soon. Word of warning if it does get that unbearable hot, get to a cooling center ASAP! Thankfully we have the community room to go to. We lost over 100 folks to that heat. Most of them elderly. We weren’t ready for that kind of heat. I don’t think a household AC can keep up with it. I’d head for a cooling center that has industrial AC. Please, take care & stay as cool as possible. This is no joke! It’s deadly. Those we lost we’re city wide, not here at the bldg. I heard we did, but they were already in the hospital.
Did anyone watch the CIJ marathon on the Q? I gotta win a big lottery so I can buy a mansion to decorate with all my stuff. QF is sure getting more & more expensive. I missed today’s show, but I did check out some things & I couldn’t afford it.
Anybody watching the Olympics? I want to see the gymnastics, & maybe the racing. It’s so broken up this time it’s hard to get interested in it.
I don’t know how it is back there, but we’re back to wearing masks again to try to keep the variant in check. It’s really exploding out here again.
Did I tell ya Hallie was in the hospital last week? She went in with shortness of breath, having trouble breathing. A couple days later they told her she has congestive heart failure. Well, I got to thinking about it & something didn’t make sense. NO cardiologist told her that. In fact no cardiologist was called in. No meds were prescribed for it, none for b/p, none for cholesterol, nothing. Turned out she had an upper respiratory infection, & something else. They kept her on oxygen the whole time she was in the hospital & sent her home with it. She saw her regular Dr. las Thurs. & she brought up CHF to him & he didn’t respond. I figured she didn’t have it, since I Do have it & know the symptoms.

A day later he went to ER cause he was getting worst. No strep. No covid, thank God but he has a severe upper respiratory infection

HI Ladies,
Well, here we go again. We’re under another heat advisory for the next few days. Temps in the upper 90s, maybe hitting 100, in some areas of the state, mostly Eastern Oregon. The smoke from the fires isn’t up here, yet. they’re 300 miles away in the south eastern part of the state, down by the Ca. border.
The smoke is blowing east. I’m sorry to say the East coast is getting it. NYC was looking like Ca. in the 70s!! And how we looked last fall.
And as if that isn’t enough, we’re back to mandatory mask wearing! The variant has exploded again out here, so now they’re saying everyone vaccinated or not have to wear masks indoors. I wear one anyway whenever I go into stores. Altho it felt good to go without one outside tho.
I’m sorry about your bunny. It’s always heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet. I’m on Insta Gram & every day I see an obit of someone’s fur baby passing away. It’s so terribly sad.

Hi Everyone,
DD, I hope Hallie is feeling better. I was surprised that they did not give me a breathing treatment with the bronchitis because my oxygen saturation was only 95. I think they would have if I had been in my regular doctor’s office but I was in Urgent Care.
We have had a couple of hot days but after today we will cool down a bit.
Greg was in the pond today picking up big rocks that had fallen in it.
I missed the most recent CIJ shows as we were out of town.
You know people wouldn’t have to worry about variants or masking again if people would just get the damn vaccine.
I could just bop them all on the head-including my own children. What a bunch of sissies-they would be helping us and themselves if they would just get the shot. I really don’t understand the hesitance. They were eager for us to get it but now that it’s their turn they are dragging their feet. It just makes me mad and frustrated.
Colleen, it’s too bad that someone with a little money gets away with bad behavior. Brook is so young. I hope pretty soon that she gets her eyes opened and understands that she is not going to change this guy. I think when we are young we think we can but it takes a little maturity to realize when we are fighting a losing battle. It’s hard to watch them make mistakes in the process of growing up though.
I hope you had a lot of fun with Kaylee. She’s at a good age. Not too grown up and not too little.
Adele, Now Simone Biles has dropped out of the individual all around too. Sometimes the media just plays up these people so big that you wonder how they could ever live up to expectations. It must be a burden. Some things were better before there was 24 hour coverage and all the media build up and hoopla.
I am feeling better. The cough is almost gone and I have some energy back. It’s weird because the symptoms of a cold or bronchitis are similar to how covid starts so that’s why I got tested right away.
We had a good time up north. We hadn’t seen Tim and Nan in almost two years. We went on some boat rides and did a little shopping and went out to eat and played some games. It’s always fun and relaxing to visit them and they have a beautiful home right on a lake.
Greg got stung by a bee and his hand got all swollen. It was some kind of Wisconsin bee that stings and injects a venom. He had to take his wedding ring off temporarily. It was a nasty sting. Then we discovered that the nest was actually in the pontoon boat so the guys had to go out at dusk and spray the nest and kill all the bees.
Nothing else new. The kids are done with baseball and softball.
We are getting veggies from the garden now so that is good. I’m waiting for the sweet corn to come in.

Hi All,
Well Kaylee went home and it is just us here again. It is hard to get use to being alone for a few days. It just seem like the house is empty and I wish she was back.
Sounds like you had a nice trip. You always have such a good time when you visit Tim and Nan. You always have such a quite peaceful time there. The house they live in sounds really nice. I hope that Greg is better now. That is painful to get stung by a bee. That bee sting sounds like it was really powerful.
We just keep praying that Brook will open her eyes and see what type of person this boy is. He is not a boy but he sure does act like one. His father was wild when he was younger and he should see that he needs to get his son under control. The baby is due on October 18th. She is due on my brothers birthday. We are getting excited about the baby now that we know a due date. I may talk to her about birthday control pills are some other type of control. She does not need any more kids right now.
DD, I am sorry to hear that you are under a heat advisory. It has been really hot here. It is supposed to cool down next week I sure hope that they are right. Have they said anything about a cool down where you are? This is really getting frustrating with having to wear the mask. We got our shots like they wanted and now they say that we have to wear masks again. I am not sure what to think any more.
I hope that Hallie is doing better. It is hard to get a doctor that will give you the right diagnosis. I will keep praying for her.
Adele, It is sad that Brook is going to be tied down with two kids at her age. He wont be though he will just keep running around with other women and getting more of them pregnant.
The weather is really hot here. It is supposed to cool down next week and I will be glad to see that. This summer is going by really fast. I can’t believe that the kids will be going back to school soon. Then all the fall things will be happening. It seems like the older we get the faster time goes by. I wish there was a way to slow things down.

My SIL from California was here for a visit yesterday. She has never seen Santino. She was Heather’s favorite aunt and looks a lot like her. It was as if Heather’s smile and facial expressions were at the table.
The kids all had a great time. Bobby did a bbq. All I did was the salad. Lol. It was a nice day
Our sky is hazy again today. Yuck
It’s awful again in so many states. I just wish people would get the dam shot!

Hi Adele,
It is a shame that the kids cannot get into the pool. I hope that the air clears up soon. I did not know that there was that many fires around. It is sad that the air gets like that. People just are not careful enough with fires.
That is great about Amanda. I hope she likes the new job. She must be a really hard worker to get the promotion. It has been rough on her this year. Maybe this is a good sign that things are going to get better.
This guy is not handsome at all. I cannot figure out what he has that attracts these girls. That might be why he goes after the younger girls. They just think that it is great that an older guy would pay attention to them. It is just sad. If I would have seen him at my house with my daughter I would have chased him off.
That was nice that your sil came to visit. I bet she was really happy to see Santino and the rest of the family. Do they get to see her very often?

The bad air is coming from California! It’s going up to Canada and then back down here on this side
My SIL lives in California. We have not seen her in years. She didn’t get out here for Heather’s funeral. It’s an expensive trip fro there to here, so we don’t feel bad she could not come. She is here to see her son on his 40th birthday and then going to one of the islands for a vacation with her brothers daughter….. Heather and Bobbys cousin. She has another son on the island they are going to visit. She has just the two sons. She is a very nice person. Even Tillie enjoyed seeing her again
I am hoping the same thing. Amsnda has had a rough time and maybe this one good thing will make her feel better and realize she has so much potential. She quit college after Heather died too. She was at the local community college and doing very well. She was energy tutoring some other student I hope she goes back and finishes some day. It would be so good for her
Holy crap! You may be right in what they see in him. That’s awful. He prays on the young girls. Has anyone ever reported him to the police? I hope one of the parents do. He is doing a lot of damage to their lives

Hi Adele,
Well I am going to try this again. I wrote to you and tried to post it and it said that I was not signed in. I knew that I was signed in because I did the birthdays and they all posted. I could not get on here yesterday at all. I just hope that this is not going to start acting up again.
It was nice that the kids got to see their aunt. I have a niece that lives in California but she is moving back home this summer. She has cancer and that is why she is wanting to come back home. We will all be glad to have her home again.
I tried to get my daughter to call the police but she would not do it. Brook was still in high school when she got pregnant. So she was under age. If it was my daughter I would have called the police if I did not throw him out of the house. I do not under stand the parents of these girls.
I really like your new costume. I could keep from laughing you will be the hit of Halloween. You will have a lot of kids just coming to see your costume. I like the eye glass case and the coin purse. They are really cute.
How is Steph doing? I hope that her and Johnny are still together. Those girls have had a rough year. They are lucky to have you around to help them thru this.

Hi Ladies,
Did any of you watch the final weekend of CIJ? I did since there wasn’t anything else on TV. I’d turn over to the Olympics & they’d have volleyball on.
Our weather took a sudden turn when the winds turned a different direction. It caused clouds to come in & cool it down. It was mostly cloudy today mixed with smoke from the fires. It’s not like it was last year. It just made the clouds have a pinkish cast to them. NO rain yet. At least it’s cooler than it’s been. We’ll still hit the low 90s, but hopefully NO more triple digits. I thought I felt a touch of fall in the air a few nights ago. I can almost smell it in the air.
Colleen & Adele, I had to sign in again too. It’s frustrating!!
I read a piece on the internet that those of us who got our shots are angry at those who refuse to get the shots. Maybe if they caught the variant they’d change their minds. If they had a mind left to change.
I’m hearing the variant is far more dangerous than the original virus. YIKES. I guess all we can do is wear a mask & pray we stay safe.

Hi DD
Yesterday was a perfect day up here. No humidity with temp around 80. Gary snd I sat out on the deck all afternoon. It was so nice to see the birds and the chipmunk was going up and down the mountain
Still no sighting of the big bunny. He is definitely gone. A much smaller bunny was around in back yesterday
We had Frankie here yesterday planting the Hostas I got to replace all we lost from doing the patio and walkway. I had him put small fencing around d thrm so the bunny won’t eat them again. The bunny ate them when we first hit them before we could plant them. Thrm I out them rm in the table upstairs until they grew again . Lol. I’ll attach a pic Also one of the rose bushes we put around the Angel that Nancy gave us in memory of Heather
We didn’t get the boys last night because Aizen is sick. He had a headache and felt awful
It’s supposed to rain again later today. I hope you get the much needed rain!
How is your friend? Critt? I hope both of them are ok
I watched some of CIJ. That’s all over as of today!
