Hi Everyone,
Colleen, I hope that your back will feel better after the shots.
Greg never did get the MRI. He did get papers that he could submit to contest the decision but never filled them out and sent them in as he was doing better. They always say sciatica will get better eventually but he has some other back issues so I think he was afraid that something else had gotten worse and I think he thought he would be in pain like that forever. I hope he can still golf this summer.
Adele, your needlepoint is so good. I tried it one time and I just couldn’t get it for some reason.
I know you miss all the activity of a large family around you. It’s too bad you couldn’t have some kind of little dog or cat for company. My SIL had a little Yorkshire terrier that never even had to be taken outside she just went on a potty pad inside the house. That dog was her saving grace after her husband died as she had no children or grandchildren- she even says that little dog was her life line.
I think all the time about getting another dog. I never thought I would be without one especially for such a long time. But then I think about how easy it is now to just come and go as we please and it holds be back a little. I know Greg is ready for another dog but it takes me to pull the trigger. I’m so conflicted.
We are supposed to get several inches of snow again tonight. I thought we were all done with that. At least it will melt fast as the weather next week will be in the forties. I am tired of long pants and socks and shoes and jackets.
Colleen, have you been watching the Masked Singer? Did you see the axolotl? Lachlan actually has one of those for a pet so I’ll bet we were one of the few people that actually knew what that was.
I had to laugh when you said Ethan thinks you guys need help. You know you’re getting old when your grand kid thinks you need help. I too had forgotten that he was there for a while. I can’t blame him for wanting to get back with his friends though. I know friends are a big part of life when you are a teenager. When I think of all the sleepovers and things we had when I was a teenager. My girlfriends were a huge part of my life back then. Our house and my friend Karla’s house was the place for sleepovers back in high school. so many nights we stayed up all night. I sure couldn’t do that now. lol I wish I had the close friends now that I had in high school. It’s so much harder making friends as an adult. I miss girl time. It seems so many friends I had when the kids were growing up have moved away and they are all gone now. Oh well.
When Brent was here one night we went to Jenny’s and we like to play games (except for Jenny’s boyfriend the party pooper) lol Even Kendall stayed out and played when Brent was here and she usually disappears into her bedroom after dinner. She’s a good kid.

Hi Everyone,
DD, that is very scary. I hope that they can get that guy out of there-pronto!
Adele, I’m sorry that JJ had to go home. yet, I can’t blame his parents and brother for missing him.
Feel free to email me anytime that you want to chat.
We had a nice visit with Brent and Tynasha. It was a little different this time since they were traveling without her son so we could do some adult things. So we took advantage and went to the casino one day and another went to a bar another day to play their trivia night. We had a lot of fun.
They don’t have a Costco close by so we took them to Costco one day so they could load up on household goods.
Greg’s sciatica is doing better. By the time he finally got into rehab he was doing better and figured out that he needed to walk to make it better-so he went once and was released with exercises to do at home. I’m glad he’s feeling better as I hated hearing him say ow ow ow ow every time he moved.
So far it’s been typical March weather with some nice days and some cold days. But it looks like the temperature is finally veering up a bit. We are due for some rain coming in over the next several days though.
I have been enjoying the longer hours of daylight though.
Looking forward to a jewelry day on the Q this week.
I have to say like many I mostly just check the website and I check their chat board. I often wonder what the future of the Q will be as I know the younger generations do not shop there. I don’t get as many Quacker clothes as I once did but will still get something that i really like from them or Denim and co. I like those Anybody joggers and I do like Kim Gravel and i like Logo tops as they cover my fat parts. lol I don’t really need any new clothes but sometimes something new just perks me up. Retail therapy!

Hope everyone is well. Brent is coming in today so we will probably be busy this week.
Happy spring forward. I can’t wait for more daylight.

Hi Everyone,
Colleen, my brother was in rehab but now he is done with that. I hope your sister continues to improve.
Adele, I never watched Blue Bloods but I know a lot of people love the show. Unfortunately no show goes on forever.
I too don’t watch much QVC live anymore. I will copy some shows and flick through them quickly and I go through the recently on air and new stuff daily to see if there is anything of interest.
Unfortunately QVC’s business model is getting to be old fashioned in this day of internet shopping.
years ago I had it on morning noon and night just for the company but not anymore.
I used to look forward to the gold shows in January and August and the silver show in March but they have ditched all those too.
I do still like some of the clothing lines and still buy from them even though I don’t really need any new clothes I have enough to last me for years. I always liked that the Q did not upcharge for plus sizes as so many catalogs do. that has kept me loyal to them. They are getting expensive but so are other places too. I no longer enjoy going out and shopping in stores-it’s just too tiresome.
Brent will be coming to visit next week.
I have rented a lake house for the family to come to this summer to celebrate our 50th anniversary so that should be fun.
Jenny is dog sitting for a friend over spring break so they will have three dogs. It will be just like old times in our house. lol
My SIL and her husband went on a cruise with two other couples a few weeks ago. My SIL got covid on the cruise and had to be quarantined and by the time they got back her husband and two of the other women had it too. I imagine once one person gets it it spreads like wild fire. They are home and feeling better now though. Thank goodness.
We are having one nice day and then back to cold and maybe snow. Grrrr.

Hi Everyone,
Colleen, I’m glad that you had nothing broken. The darn arthritis is just part of aging and sometimes there’s just nothing to be done.
I always say how fortunate I am to have my RA pretty much under control with medicine. I thank my lucky stars daily as I remembered how my Dad suffered as they didn’t have some of the medicines back then that they do today.
DD, I heard that Portland got a bunch of snow. I think the weather has gone crazy.
Adele, glad the office clean out is moving right along. Marissa is such a help.
We lost power from eight in the morning yesterday until ten thirty last night. There was a big ice storm. Thank goodness we have the portable generator to run some heat and the refrigerator and freezer. I’ll be glad to be able to shower again today. Greg is exhausted from lugging the generator up from the barn and setting everything up with extension cords all over the house.
The insurance turned him down for his MRI so they are going to try PT first for the sciatica. It has been getting better as he’s been walking on the treadmill every day. Therapy doesn’t start until mid March so I said he probably won’t need it by then.
Brent is coming from March 11 to the 18th. They were also going to go to Ohio to visit his bio Dad but instead Randy(bio dad) has a brother in a town close by and he said he will come up to visit him when Brent is here so they don’t have to spend the time driving to Ohio.
So that will give us more time with Brent and Tynasha. Last year when they were here in March the weather was so cold. I hope this year it will be a bit warmer.
Piper wanted us to come over to their house yesterday for a sleepover when our power was out but we explained that we can’t leave the house with the generator running and we can’t just stop the generator otherwise we would lose all the food stored in our fridge and freezer. Plus we just went to Costco a month ago so our freezer is pretty stocked.

I just checked and it’s there. You have to go the main discussions page click on General Quacker chatter and it should be there at or close to the top.

Hi Everyone.
I hope you are all okay.
We had quite a bit on snow over the weekend. But fortunately it can down over several days and wasn’t a hard blowing snow. Although it was blowing on Friday so we decided not to go to Jenny’s that night.
Colleen, how was the MRI? I hope there were no breaks or cracks.
Greg is still struggling with the sciatica. He’s just coming off a few days of prednisone and is having an MRI next week and being sent to a pain doctor.
I hope they can find some way to help him as he is miserable all the time and it has affected his spirit and attitude.
Adele, how is Santino after the RSV. It’s funny now that disease has been in the news since the fall and I don’t remember hearing about it when our kids were little.
When you had the place in New Hampshire how far of a drive was it to get there? I’ll bet it was lots of fun.
My parents had snowmobiles at their place up north too but I was already in college when they bought it so I didn’t go up as much as I would have if they had bought it when I was younger. That’s one regret that I have since they offered it to us before they sold it but we were just married and couldn’t afford it. But Greg would always have loved a house on a lake in that area so I wish that things had been a little different or that they had held onto it as a summer home when they moved down south so he would have had a chance to go there because he would have loved it. My Dad loved to fish and so does Greg.
Adele, the castles in Germany sound so beautiful-and so much more ancient than anything we have here. Our country is like a baby compared to some of the other countries.
DD, how are things out west? Did you and Critt ever mend fences? That’s an unusual name-I think that’s the first time I’ve ever heard it.
