Barbara (Smith) is the “Quacker Cop” you’ve heard Jeanne talk about for years. She’s also Jeanne’s good friend and traveling companion. Barbara will be sharing her observations and experiences in a regular feature on our website. Enjoy!

The month of December is a busy month for most of us.  Mine started with one thing on my mind........The Oasis of the Seas, one of the largest cruise ships.  Many months ago I made plans to spend the week cruising with Lee, Linda and Eve.  We were happy to have the opportunity to spend the week "checking out" the ship before the Quacker Cruise in October, 2011.

The end of November I had flown to QVC with Jeanne.  I was with her for several appearances, but left alone, to go home to pack and get ready. Jeanne had planned a Bon Voyage party at her home the night before the cruise, unaware that she would be scheduled at QVC.

I spent several days getting ready for the trip.  Hair and nails were high on my "to do" list.  I tried to pack lightly, but ended up with 3 large suitcases.  Friday morning I was back in Boca Raton.  Jeanne's home was decorated for the Holidays and preparations for the party that evening were in full swing.  The evening arrived with the guests enjoying Jeanne's hospitality.  We toasted with our first cocktail to Jeanne.  We all did miss her.

The following day, Lee, Linda, Doreen and I arrived at the Oasis of the Seas in Ft Lauderdale.  The check in was a breeze, taking less than 10 minutes.  Our 8th floor balcony overlooked all the activities on the "Boardwalk", complete with a carousel.  Every night we enjoyed dinner at a different restaurant.  Attending the shows was so much fun.  I loved seeing the Broadway hit "Hairspray".  So many activities, something for everyone.

The week flew by and Saturday came quickly.  Our "Adventure" had come to an end.  I can't rave enough about the ship, and all the activities on it.  I am so excited Quacker Factory will be going on this ship for their cruise next October.  I know everyone will have an amazing time.

Jeanne had a fun time at QVC while I was gone.  The Cookie Exchange held on Fashion Friday was a huge success.  Sure wished I could have been there.  I know I would have loved sampling all the cookies.  The rest of December was filled decorating, shopping, and planning for Christmas. Jeanne hosted a Christmas Eve dinner for her family.  It was another fun party.

It seemed in a blink of an eye the Holidays were over.  It was such a wonderful time to spend with family and friends.  So, 2010 has come to an end.  Anticipation for 2011 starts a whole new page.  Hope you think about the Quacker Cruise in October 2011.  It promises to be a fun, amazing time.

So for me, December was not just "On the Road Again".....a big part of it was really "On the Sea Again"

Take care, be happy........Until we are "On the Road Again"

With Hugs and Love,
Barbara  (Quacker Cop)
