Barbara (Smith) is the “Quacker Cop” you’ve heard Jeanne talk about for years. She’s also Jeanne’s good friend and traveling companion. Barbara will be sharing her observations and experiences in a regular feature on our website. Enjoy!

The month of May turned out not exactly as planned.  I found myself heading southbound on Interstate 95 on the 12th, with my road trip ending in Boca Raton.  Jeanne, who had not been feeling well, was told by her Doctors, airline travel was not advisable.  With a distance well over a thousand miles from Florida, QVC was way too far to get there any other way.  We would not be heading North. So, our flight from Ft Lauderdale to Philadelphia was canceled.

It was decided Jeanne would make an appearance during Fashion Day on air, via "skype", speaking to all her Quacker girlfriends. I enjoyed watching Tiago setting up the lighting in Jeanne's office.  Everyone was so excited....QVC was finally "skyping"....and Jeanne was the "QVC Skype Pioneer"......who would have thought that Jeanne would make history in the vast world of technology?  Everything was checked and tested between Tiago and QVC,  We were ready on the Florida end.  Soon, we were in the countdown until airtime...

The Quacker Factory noon show was hosted by Carolyn Gracie.  The hour had arrived.  We watched as Angel appeared standing next to Carolyn.  The show begun. Carolyn introduced Jeanne, via skype.  Her smiling face was broadcast appearing in the corner of the TV screen.  Jeanne greeted everyone, explaining she was recently diagnosed with a very treatable form of cancer and was doing really well.  She thanked everyone for all their love and prayers, as she promised she would be back at QVC, just as soon as her health permitted.  Jeanne and I spent the rest of the hour watching the show.  She loved hearing all the good wishes sent her way.  I really loved the new Quacker clothes, and jumped on the phone to order the Dream Jeanne's in cropped length.  I love, love, love, the Dream Jeanne's in any length.  The show ended with Jeanne saying good-by to all the Quackers.  Happy to say "skyping" was more fun than I thought.  Jeanne looked beautiful and did a such great job.

Jeanne and I enjoyed lunch while we talked about the amazing hour that just passed.  Angel looked beautiful as she spoke to all the Quackers.  It was such a good show.  Before long, it was 6:00pm.  Quacker Factory show time, hosted by Jane Treacy.  Again, the show started with Jeanne "skyping",  speaking to all the Quackers.  The hour was jammed packed with new items.  Such beautiful clothes.  I was thrilled to see all the polka dots.  Such adorable pieces in capri's, tops and hooded jackets.  Now the dilemma was in choosing which colors to order.  After a short deliberation, I did what a true Quacker sometimes did....I ordered the three piece outfit in EVERY color.   The hour flew by.  for Quacker Factory.  Fashion Day was such a fun day. A chance to be connected to other Quackers, while having fun shopping. Now to wait for the packages to arrive.

The following day, I traveled home to West Melbourne. Time for my other life.  Time to be a West Melbourne Detective.  I spent the next two weeks solving crime in my city.

The end of May was nearing.  Again, time to drive southbound on I-95.  Time to have fun being a Quacker.  This weekend was extra special.  It was time for a Quacker Factory Today's Special Value.  Jeanne and I watched all the shows together (even the midnight kick-off) another great shopping day.  I was especially excited this day had arrived.  Dream Jeanne's was presented in the petal pusher length. My absolute favorite length.  And yes, I simply had to order them in every color.  I knew they would sell out quickly, so there was not much hesitation on my part reaching for the phone.

Jeanne and I enjoyed two delightful days watching all the Quacker Factory shows.  Jeanne especially loved hearing all the wonderful comments and good wishes sent to her during two days watching all the shows.  I know the Positive Energy she receives from the Quackers works Miracles.  She is so grateful to you all.

The month was not exactly as we had planned, Yet the month turned out to be a fun, special time with lots of shopping .  What more could a woman ask for?  So, the direction of travel for Jeanne and I was not the usual. But it did turn out to be a wonderful girlfriend time.

Turns out, there is a message here.......it's not about the destination.....it's about who is with you during the journey.

Until next month, when we are ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

With Hugs and Love,
Barbara (Quacker Cop)
