Myra Ebert, died June 8, 2010.  She was born Myra Stoehr to Matt and Anna Stoehr on a dairy farm in Gresham, WI on March 8, 1921.  Myra attended college at Stevens Pont Teacher's College in Steven's point WI.  She fell in love with a local boy named Rembert (Ray) Ebert.  With the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Ray enlisted and trained as a US Army Air Corps flyer at Santa Ana, CA.  Ray sent for Myra and she took her first train ride out of Wisconsin.   They were married in Santa Ana CA, in 1942 and shared a marriage that lasted 64 years.  During the war in the Pacific, Ray was stationed at Saipan, Mariana Islands.  Myra returned home with her first child.  She taught in a one room school house, where she was principal, teacher,  janitor, and roust about.  Wisconsin winters were bitter, with only a wood burning stove that had to be tended to, throughout the day.

At the end of the war, Ray was a career military officer  and the adventure of a lifetime began.  They traveled to many bases in service to their country. Myra crisscrossed the country, as Ray was being transferred to new bases in new places.  She was blessed with 6 children.  Eve born in Shawano, Wi; Kathy born in Pasedena, CA; Karl Matthew born in Fort Worth, TX;  Jill  born in Ft. Worth, TX;  Joe  born in Port Lavaca, TX and Tim  born in Port Lavaca, TX.  Myra's life work was caring for and nurturing her family.

Upon Ray's retirement they picked New Braunfels, TX  for retirement.  Myra worked as a volunteer as an Air Force wife and in her new community.  She gave her time to the New Braunfels Food Bank, the Eden Home, the Sts. Peter and Paul Christian Mothers, and participated in many church activities.  She threw herself into every project she took on, from designing and sewing her daughters' clothes to tending her cherished plants and flower beds.  She made a difference.

Myra loved to laugh and have her family around her. When we would call Mom on the phone, one of the first questions would be, "When are you coming to see me?".  We each called her every day and visited often.  It was great fun to hear her "takes" on politics, traveling, gardening, reading, cooking, and life in general. She was the most generous, warm and caring person we knew. We will miss you, Mom, more than words can say.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband Ray Ebert and son, Timothy Ebert .  She is survived by her sister, Connie Kuckuk and husband Dave;  her brother Russell Stoehr and wife Geneva.  She is also survived by her children: Eve LaTulipe and husband, Bill;  Kathy Littlefield and husband Richard; Karl Ebert and wife Gwynne; Jill Edwards and husband Jim; Joe Ebert and Deb Rodriquez.  She is survived by her grandchildren; Scott LaTulipe and wife Amy, Erica Littlefield and great grandson Blake, Travis Ebert, Jimmy Ray Ebert, Jessica Edwards, Jay Edwards, Jordan Edwards, Anton Ebert and Karl Nicholas Ebert.
