I am so sorry I haven’t written a blog for SO long. You know when life suddenly throws lots of unexpected turns at you and you are left with a roller coaster of practical things to deal with along with emotional stuff as well. Everything seems ‘topsy turvy’ and one has to just throw up your hands and blow the ‘quacker’ and go - quack quack - ok - what now!!
I am no longer living in the Farmhouse and Beth’s father (one of my best friends and who is one of my gorgeous models at QVC UK) had his whole leg amputated due to cancer about a month ago now.
So Jeanne’s book “Pull Yourself Up By Your Bra Straps” has been such an inspiration to me once again. It has become my ‘life bible’. This book, going to church, swimming in the sea and being a quacker have helped me along the way.
What I have learnt is I truly have good friends and in fact I have made other new “quacker friends” along the way. I must send my love to my new quacker friend - Sheena. She suffers from a really bad back and spends a lot of time resting and hence watching QVC and Quacker! She loves Quacker clothes and always smiles and sparkles even when she is in a lot of pain. Her daughter, Libby, loves Quacker clothes too and she really wants to come and model for one of my shows. So I am speaking to the powers that be here at QVC UK to see what we can do! - Quack Quack!!
So I feel extremely lucky and honoured that I represent such a great range of clothing with such a great ethos behind it which has helped me in my own life so much as well. I always say to my girlfriends - come down and see me - lets get together - put some coffee on - comfort each other through our problems - and oh yes - quack and make each other laugh and cry!!!
I am actually writing this blog from Cyprus. I have come to see my father who I haven’t seen for some time. I have spent the last 9 days just sleeping, resting, going to church, putting my face in the sun and oh yes - reading “Bra Straps”.
I am back at the end of the week to do a Quacker Christmas show on 21st November at 4pm. I am then doing 3 further Christmas shows on 4th December - quacking for Christmas.
Until my next blog - lots of love to you Quackers across the Pond and I look forward to signing in again with you soon
